What are some of the funniest movie twists that you don't see coming?

I just can't get enough of the one in 22 Jump Street (2014) - to the point that I regularly revisit reaction compilations to that specific scene online. It's one of those "you had to be there in the theater to feel how hilarious and surprising it really was... everyone busted out laughing." So I'm wondering if there are other scenes along the same lines.

I always bring this up in relation to that scene, but I saw in in theatres and went in blind. When that moment happened, the whole theater was dead silent for a few moments... THEN a wave of laughter started up as soon as it kind of sunk in.

This might be one of the most underrated comedies in a while. Ended up seeing this as a double feature in the theaters and had zero expectations going in. Goddamn we laughed so much.

It's easily Crazy Stupid Love when Jacob walks in with Hannah and sees Cal standing there...neither were expecting each other to know Hannah and comedic gold unfolds. One of my favorite scenes of all time.

"Sex Drive" was a dumb and raunchy teen sex comedy that came out in 2008. It's about an awkward teenager who has a really hot online girlfriend who lives a few states away. She tells him that if she drives out to meet her, they could hook up. So he and his friends borrow his brother's car to drive to her. Now, you'd think the twist is that she's not that hot, is actually a guy, or just doesn't show up. But it's funnier than that. She actually is hot just like her photos. However >!she was only flirting with him so she could steal his car. She actually does this to a few guys at a time and her accomplish is also really funny!<.

Seth Green is genuinely brilliant in that film. The outtakes at the end are gold, when he's chatting with Fallout Boy at the Amish party and just remarks to Pete Wentz _nice p**** on the internet by the way_ Also _your techno music beguiles me_ One of the best comedy cameos I can think of.

In Monty Python and The Holy Grail, the bridge scene when the bridge keeper asks about the average flight speed of an unladen swallow. The question is a great callback to the dumb joke at the beginning and the answer is even funnier.

My friend fell asleep watching dusk till dawn and got angry at me when I told him there were vampires. "Vampire's in a bank heist movie!?, F*CK off" Always thought it was a crazy twist.

Everytime I see this movie mentioned i feel the need to bring up the show which is surprisingly great. The two main characters are extremely similar looking to young tarantino / Clooney in the movie, and the show just felt like a perfect extension to the movie (season 1 is basically the movie and then s2 / 3 continue the story). It was even developed / directed by Robert Rodriguez and I feel like no one's aware it even exists.

I watched the first couple of episodes and didn’t really like that they turned temu tarantino’s character into some kind of schizophrenic psychic instead of just being a creepy little weirdo and couldn’t be bothered watching the rest of it.

Not a movie, but the first episode of Gravity Falls has the funniest plot twist I've ever seen: >!Dipper suspects that Mabel's new boyfriend, Norman, is a zombie. When he tries to show her the page in the journal about zombies, he accidentally flips to the page about gnomes.!< >!Turns out, Norman *was* actually five gnomes stacked in a pyramid formation! When Dipper finds out, he says, "Gnomes? Wow, I was *way* off."!<

When I saw Sinners I knew absolutely nothing going in and for the first 15 minutes kind of thought it was just going to be a period piece about gangsters of the time. I’m laughing pretty hard about that now. I know it doesn’t really count but it does for me. lol.

What’s awesome is you see the supposed ‘death’ of the mastermind as part of a quick series of WTF moments (where it blends in). But on a rewatch you realize that it was nonsensical even for the WTF stuff, and should have been caught by all those ‘Worlds Greatest Detectives’. >!Seriously, they thought she was just an animated mannequin? Packed away into a carrying case? Everything else fit into the general time period, but a walking mannequin is pure magic!<

The Marple series had a twist added to the film lead to a pretty funny gag in the adaptation of the novel "The Body In The Library", where Miss Marple investigates the murder of a stranger dumped out of the blue in the manor of her friend Dolly Bantry. Not even counting the original twist in the novel that the corpse ended up in Gossington Hall because >!the person who was being set up as the murderer's patsy came home late one evening, found a murdered girl in his living room and moved the corpse because he considered doing so nothing more than a prank (he was *very* drunk at the time) and this is what foiled the murder scheme!<, but Miss Marple leaves the chief inspector completely catatonic when explaining the case that >!unlike the original novel where the plot twist was that two characters were secretly married, here the murderers are a lesbian couple!<. It is fantastic.

Beau is Afraid At the end when Beau has sex with Elaine, he fears he will die if he orgasms. He's very relieved that he did not. However, Elaine has suddenly gone stiff and died mid o***** while still on top of Beau. Then his supposed dead my mother in the walks in things only get stranger from there.
