My mom had a drug induced psychotic break, got put on a mental hold and held in a psych ward for a week+. A few weeks after she got out, we were discussing what happened and I told her some of the things she said - "Elon Musk and Greg Abbott have orchestrated parts of my life for the last 20 years, all so I would be on [xxx] non-profit board and help with their agenda." She told me that would be "literally insane" to say. I said "yes, hence the police and mental hold and psych ward." She didn't believe me. She maintains years later she had to go to the psych ward to protect her from my dad.

Defending shitty writing when previously good TV shows go bad. Prime examples are Westworld and Severance, both of which had great first seasons only to shit the bed in Season 2. I have to admit, this one baffles me too. It's even more baffling when LGBTQ+ folks themselves are literally going with the side that would oppress them - or worse. As a Jewish leftist, I feel like screaming "Do you not know WE are the ones who'd defend your rights???" I completely understand wanting peace, as I do too, and not supporting the current administrations in certain countries. But if you're choosing one side over the other, it's hard to explain why they're probably choosing the wrong one. ETA: I am NOT speaking on the Gaza situation specifically, so please don't come at me with that. I did address it below, if you really want to know my thoughts. But for those who aren't aware, the Muslims and Jews have existed and been in conflict much longer than 3 years. 🙄

Its easy, human rights apply to Palestinians. Leftists often like immigration too and that brings in a lot of traditionalist religious folks. It comes from an honest desire to help human beings, even if they disagree with us. Besides, I don't know for a fact who are the violent extremists or bigots and who are the gays among them in hiding. But some folks need collective punishment and group associations because its easier and less nuanced than trying to actually treat humans as individuals. Its not a contradiction at all. We just have to actually believe that collective punishment is bad. Its actually being consistent not contradictory.
