What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of April 17, 2026)

Finished Beef s2, started off ok but then I didnt like the ending. s1 was better so just watch that. Week to week the Boys, Invincible, Daredevil Next binge: the lowdown

Does anyone have any recommendations similar to the Les Lionesses (Cash Queens) on Netflix. Really enjoyed this series and love wacky, heist vibes. Really hoping it gets a second season

Does Industry get any better? On S1E7, feels like a slog to watch ~60% of this. Really enjoy the stuff where they're at work and trading and the dynamics there, but the second they leave work this show falls off quickly imo. I saw someone describe it as "Euphoria meets Succession but is 80% Euphoria", and that seems pretty fair except its worse than both shows at those things

I finished **Big Mistakes** I enjoyed the last few episodes more than the rest of it. It sort of reminds me of Deli Boys, but nowhere near as fun, which is a shame because I like everyone involved here. With that said I would give a second season a shot. I also watched the first episode of **Sunny Nights**. This is another show about people getting in over their heads in the crime world. I’m a big Will Forte fan I’m a bit biased but I like this one so far. D'Arcy Carden is great as always and I love the dynamic between her and Forte’s sibling characters

**The Boys** That episode was trash. This show is a dumpster fire damn. 4 episodes to go. Jensen's acting feels like it's too good to be wasted in this I'l be real. >!Butcher sees Homelander in a weaken state (weaker than ever before) and decides to just walk away.!< >!They are trying too hard now to make us like Soldier Boy. This episode especially felt far too try hard about it.!< >!The Frenchie scenes of him getting Soldier Boy there and having him kill Quinn was so cartoony and cringe.!< >!Unlike other shows where the group begins to go against one another due to some external element influencing them this one has no tension, it just came and went.!< >!Ashley's gross relationships got old long ago.!< >!Ryan left so I'm sure we'll waste another episode having Butcher find him again.!< >!MM and Butcher being friends again felt weird and unearnt.!<

I reckon Beef s2 is better than Beef s1

I started a Chinese drama called The Mirage recently. I wouldn’t say the acting is the main draw for me, but the structure is interesting — lots of foreshadowing, multiple threads, and it feels like the show is building toward something rather than just being random. Definitely more of a slow-burn mystery than an instantly gripping watch, but I can see why people stick with it.

Rooster - I just f****** love this show. I went it skeptic into it because I had some bad press. I don’t know why it got some bad press before it even came out, but this show just cracks me up and it is such a feel good show. Invincible - great as always. The Boys - same fun tropes but getting abut j can only be edged so much For All Mankind - jumped the shark Daredevil- loving it so far

The Bear is like the The Pitt version of a shithole sandwich shop lmao Total chaos and makes you wonder how anyone can stand working there Finishing season 1

I’m gonna miss back to back nights of Daredevil and Invincible. The last 4 episodes made Incincible S4 really great. E5 and E7 are two of the best in show history. Can’t wait for Season 5.

One Piece is really losing me with this CGI Baby Yoda wannabe reindeer thing.

**Daredevil Born Again** 3x06 - Wow, was a 9.5/10 episode! **Invincible** 4x08 - Great last episodeo of great 4th season. 9/10 **The Boys** 5x04 - Fun episode. 7.5/10

**Bookish** and **Call the Midwife** (PBS) Bookish will fit in the viewing list of folks that like period murder/detective series and is suitable for family viewing. Call the Midwife is in its 15th season and there hasn’t been a bad episode yet. Although the baseline story is about a healthcare service for the underprivileged, I don’t think any show exceeds its honest treatment of social issues.

I have finally finished Justified Season 6 , the finale was a bit lacklustre imo and an anticlimax but it wrapped things up ok, definitely not peak Justified but kept me watching and I did enjoy it. Wasn't going to watch Primeval but it's only 8 episodes so there's no reason not to.

Watching malcom in the middle for the first time also watching beef but its kinda boring so i might drop it not sure also has anyone seen black ish if so is that worth watching it seems kinda like modern family Edit is community also worth watching been thinking about it for a while

**Daredevil Born Again** has really picked up steam this season, can't wait for the finale next week. Also, >!f*** Powell!<

**Euphoria** S3E1: Hilarious, wide-screen slice of 21st century Americana. Everyone and everything is just toxic to the senses. Two thumbs up.

The current Will Trent plotline is all kinds of nonsense. Melodramatic as hell. Maybe the writers think they need to jump the shark to hold people's attention, but they don't. Will Trent was good because of the quality of the storytelling and charismatic main cast. The actors are doing their best with what they have, but without them this show would be standard cop slop.

Rewatching **The Leftovers** for the first time since my initial watch in the pandemic and it's somehow better. If you haven't heared of it, i envy you, if you're on the fense and haven't gotten to sit down and watch it, please do. The best show with the worst marketting ever, this is up there with Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Wire etc, genuinely, and most people have no idea it exists.

Finished **Daredevil: Born Again** season 1. I'm glad they rebooted production to be more in line with the Netflix Daredevil seasons. It actually felt more brutal at times. Excellent stuff. I'll start season 2 right away. **Invincible**. Episode 7 was pure cinema or TVinema. Animation team really made Thragg terrifying. I'm not sure I like Lee Pace as the voice though but that's maybe because it reminds me too much of his character in Foundation.

Patriot might be the best show I've ever watched. Can't believe I never gave it a chance before.

This week is so fulll of start dates,,, just watched **Unchosen**. I felt like Netflix again, did very less promo for a so far real good seriess **Beef** Season 2 is great. Oscar Isaac is one of the best. Trying to catch up with the new **Invincible** season, but this weeks thiings, I want to watch are a lot

Big Mood S2 on Tubi. If you liked Fleabag, Chewing Gum and the like, it's a fun watch.

Halfway through The Pitt season 2 and honestly, I’m kind of bored. Keep trying to get into it again but I usually watch 15 minutes or so and then get bored and watch something else

DTF St Louis I'm not sure a show has ever made me feel this uncomfortable watching. Do with that what you will.

**Beef S2** is just as good as the first one, if not better. Really great dynamics between characters and the couples. The writing makes it hyper realistic in a way where it feels real and relatable. The characters are fleshed out well, and multi faceted. None of them are particularly good or bad, or likeable or unlikeable. It strikes a really good balance and keeps them interesting and evolving until the end, making for well executed arcs. The actors do a really good job, and it’s funny show too. It’s a lot like White Lotus, so if you like that you’ll enjoy this. **9.5/10**

Luther - binging all 5 seasons on Prime. Crazy intense cop show from the BBC..it's very addictive. Idris Elba is fantastic.

US viewers can watch on YouTube (all Series are on there).  This run features Kumail Nanjiani so US based posters have somebody they'll know alongside a UK based stand up, a writer who penned a massive HBO sitcom, a Welsh actress and the host for our version of cringy weird Korean import The Masked Singer

Watching Euphoria and then looking on QueerBox for more queer shows

Margot's Got Money problems seems to be moving way too slow in the first 3 episodes and I don't know what they've really offered that couldn't have been breezed through in the first fifteen minutes of the pilot. It's okay, not very convinced by Elle Fanning in this role. My main criticism for it is why it's shot / colour coded like a prestige gritty crime drama? It's so monotone, washed out, grey for a story that seems like it'd benefit from vibrant colour pops. 

I think I'm probably done now that I'm at the end of *Supernatural* s9. Glad I didn't cut out at the end of season 5, but I'm tired, boss. How many apocalypses can one timeline take?! I'll probably watch the "Scooby Doo" and "Baby" episodes and call it a day. Fun to see so many actors from *The X-Files* and *Harper's Island* (at least 11 for the latter). Running low on weekies since I only have Prime and Max for now. Catching up on *Hacks*, underwhelmed by *Euphoria* s 2 so far.

Usually agree with alot of things on this sub but For All Mankind seems to be very divisive here. I'm a really big fan, although I agree there are some flaws and missteps along the way storywise, its one of the most interesting shows ever put to screen with the budget to back it up. Joel Kinnaman kills it every season!

**Euphoria** 3x02 - visually the show is looking amazing. Plot/writing-wise still not on par with the great episodes of S1/S2, but it's getting there. I liked this episode already more than the first one of S3. 8.5/10. Priscilla Delgado's acting was incredible this episode! Also Eric Dane's!!

Might be the best mix of shows I’ve had in months. Gotta love Emmy deadline season. **Invincible** - Last ep was exactly what I love about this show. No punches pulled and great twists. Can’t wait for the finale. **The Boys** - Great start, especially with how they handled >!A-Train’s death!<. At the same time, it’s definitely for the best that it’s the final season. **Hacks** - Really starting off strong, especially compared to last season, which took a little bit to get going. Have total faith they will stick the landing. **Euphoria** - Sam Levinson isn’t going to win any writing awards, but this show is never not interesting, it’s sneakily funny, and it’s shot better than 99% of TV. It’s appointment viewing just for the memes that pop up immediately after the episode drops. Next week looks bonkers, can’t wait. **Reservation Dogs** - About halfway through S2 now. Digging it a lot, it’s authentic in a way that reminds me often of Somebody Somewhere, where the characters feel like real people. **Smiling Friends** - Last 2 eps were hilarious as expected. Gonna miss this show, looking forward to what the creators do next. **Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku** - Honestly, only started this anime because I saw the opening on Twitter and it was a banger, but the characters are cool and it gives off major Dress-Up Darling vibes. Loving it. **Grand Blue Dreaming** - Probably the funniest anime I’ve watched so far, unhinged in the best ways. Trying to get to **Rooster**, **Jury Duty**, and maybe **Margo’s Got Money Troubles** once my schedule clears up a little.

Rooster is an amazing off beat comedy i thought I'd hate, usually don't like Steve Carrel outside of the office but he's great in this

I finished Agents of Shield's last season and I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't greatly into it so I thought I might need a break from TV. Then I saw Andor S2... Never mind just needed something more compelling.

Don't know what to make of Daredevil. It has some *great* bits but also too much focus on too many barely interesting side characters while the main story spins it's wheels. Maybe I'm just over Kingpin.

Is anybody else watching euphoria and wondering...why? Lol

Star Wars Maul Shadow Lord so freaking good the animation is top tier amazing and the pacing is nice balanced Beef S2 can’t really get into it the actors are fine but the story feels like the feud from S1 and more like multiple drama plots with a same old theme of f*** the rich Looking forward to Half Man this week!

Hacks Rooster The Pitt The Miniature Wife Going to revisit Paradise. Only saw the first episode a while back, liked it, but stopped watching for some reason. I really wanted to like The Audacity.

**The Boys** >!In S3 finalé Kimiko came to terms with being a monster then in S5 she stops Frenchie from keeping Sameer captive because he and her are not monsters like Butcher. We have got to stop going in circles.!<

All caught up on Invincible. While I have to admit that they did an amazing job with THAT scene in the recent episode (i read that part in the comics like 15 years ago and will forever be seared in my brain) I still stand by my many criticisms, mostly being how incredibly uneven this show is. It’s like they put all of their effort (and budget) into these enormous climactic scenes, at the cost of leaving the other 90% of the show feeling largely soulless.  I flipped through the comics yesterday to see if i was misremembering, but the difference in art quality is truly astounding. Every characters design in this show is basically an outline with the most bare details and an utter lack of definition and it leaves everything looking so flat.  And holy shit who is the music supervisor? If i have to hear one more American Apparel ass song during a montage I swear… Anyways I am grateful we got this show and i think it could have ended up much worse, but I can’t help but be nitpicky as huge fan of those comics. I don’t know if this will make sense (and if anything I am just showing my age here), but I get the same vibe watching this as I did Arcane in that it feels directly aimed at brocolli head zoomer kids who say things like “peak!” and “absolute cinema!!” lol

**From** is back! One of the most atmospheric shows around, really nice to get to watch this one live (it even made it to Sweden on time!).

Struggling to find a good drama show to watch. Tried Person of Interest and found it comically bad, tried Friday Night Lights (bored) and The Leftovers (also bored). Maybe it's me. I think I'll try Fringe or rewatch White Lotus

**Mr. Inbetween** Season 2 I love the dark humor and the fact that Ray isn't some hyper competent hitman. He usually just makes things up as he goes and most of the time he comes out on top because most people he deals with are just incompetent.

Loving every minute of House of David S2. It’s very well done. 

Started season 4 ep 1 of From but cannot remember some of the later episodes of season 3 so regrouping on my major rewatch Ive wanted to do anyhow. Lots of shit gets thrown at this show on here mainly the tiresome "when will anything get answered?" but that seems to be a huge part of the show. WTF is going on. Just like Lost was. I personally enjoy the unknown and guessing even if it's a tease for the answer at times.

Beef S2 - I just don't find this season's s/l interesting or compelling, at all.

Scarpetta is pretty pretty good so far, 3 episodes in. Very good acting (Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, and their younger versions), cinematography, and directing. Has a nice flow to it.

I'm almost done with my second rewatch in a row of **Community**. I'll probably watch it again once I'm finished, since it's a great "last show before bed" show. **Race Across the World** is one of my favorite shows. I love how on British reality TV the contestants generally help each other and are friendly with the other teams. Plus the locations they go are really interesting, and the camera teams seem to love catching footage of all the street cats (and sometimes dogs). **Great British Bake Off: Stand Up 2 Cancer** is fine. I had been on a quest to watch every English language version of GBBO, and I think in doing so I burnt myself out on the show. Looking forward to: **From** season 4 **Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee (AU)** is restarting in less than two weeks. **Taskmaster (AU)** is back in less than three weeks!

Something really bad is going to happen was a blast. Highly recommended.

For all mankind but it sucks balls. Euphoria's latest season is not that intriguing either but I'm hoping it builds up.

So I finally got around to watching True Detective. Pretty good! Really liked the acting and the mood. S2 was pretty meh but I thought S3 was much better than S1. Much more textured story and not so over the top with the mystical/supernatural stuff.
