Invincible S4....it's interesting what they are setting and hopefully we'll see some really good stuff relating to Viltrumites in future eps...good to see character progression for both Mark and Nolan, completely different from how they were in S1...The first 15 mins of ep 2 was the standout for me , with its music and animation elevating things..and yes animation is much better than previous seasons imo, it's consistent in a good way, voice acting is great as usual, a few recurring villains and story arcs can be underwhelming but still it's good

Re-watching: Boston Legal- Alan Shore is probably one of the greatest written for TV characters ever. James Spader brings so much to the character, including his absolute intense self loathing for what he has to do to win. Watching- Undercover Miss Hong (Netflix)- Really, really good Kdrama. In an around Episode 9 is when most Kdramas start faltering slightly. It holds brilliantly here. Shin-Hye is doing great playing these characters. Great watch

**[Up Here](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17525252/)** (2023). If you liked *Crazy Ex-Girlfriend* there's a decent chance you'll like this too despite some big differences. Don't let the fact that it was canceled after one season to deter you. The last episode feels like an ending with an option for more.

Folks how do we feel about **Arcane** S2 now that we are a bit removed from the fresh discussion after release. Been watching it a bit and I feel it's half the show S1 was.

AVR350 Mar 21, 2026 +2
It def feels rushed, and should have been two seasons...it does have some peak moments especially when the music hits hard, and ep 7 is a standout and was the one ep where I felt pacing was actually good..also ending felt too idk happy ending esque, and felt easy but still it's a top tier show imo

Finished ***One Piece*** Season 2 last week, now watching ***One Piece*** animation - up to Episode 20. My sub will go on pause in a few days - I'll pick it up a few months from now. Watched ***On The Beach*** (1959) today. I tend to watch movies from the 50s - 80s between recent films. Last week's classic was ***The Andromeda Strain*** (1971). Earlier this month, watched both seasons of ***Stargate Universe***, which I find rather dull and repetitive as a series. It's weird that many plot points done in Season One are subsequently UNdone in Season Two - so it's like the crew hasn't learned a thing.

The weekly comedies I'm watching now, in favorites order: 1. *Stumble* (S1 just ended) 2. *The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins* 3. *St. Denis Medical* 4. *Abbott Elementary* 7. *Ghosts* 5. *Scrubs* 6. *Animal Control* 10. *Going Dutch* 8. *The Neighborhood* 9. *DMV* It's possible I watch too much TV.
2
PatientUpstairs2460 Mar 21, 2026 +1
I started watching **Blue Mountain State**. Maybe I would've enjoyed it when it was first on and I was young and dumb, but now... I hated it. I aborted part way through the third episode.

Isn’t there supposed to be new season/episodes of **The Boys**, and **Daredevil** soon? **Invincible** is superior as always… it is a little tougher to spend time with a miserable Mark when I watch TV to forget my own misery and the tough bad news cycle that doesn’t let up. I’m going to have to rewatch **Slow Horses** and **Homeland** to get my fill of spy shows…

**Deadloch S2** Amazon Australia. I've waited so long for this to return and it's every bit as good as the first series. Set in The Northern Territories with loads of crocs. Watch it **Small Prophets** BBC oh I loved everything about this show **The Danish Woman** on SBS Australia. Set in Iceland. It's got kind of a Dexter vibe but not at all like it. Every episode is shocking. I loved and hated the main character with equal measure. It's a dark comedy in the best possible way. If you have any way of tracking this show down you're in for a treat.

I'm just watching **The Pitt** weekly right now. I bailed on **DTF St Louis**. The tone is just not working, not for me anyway. I need to get back into my **Angel** season 5 rewatch. I was taking a break from that while I mourned the collapse of the BtVS revival.

I have 3 episodes left on **The Shield** and I am not ready for it to wrap up. Vic Mackey is such a great character. Shane, Dutch,  Claudette, and Lem are top tier. Gonna miss em!

In the UK, I would recommend new Gladiators on BBC One at 17:45 GMT, the last of the semi-finals

I just finished Stath Lets Flats and it was so good. I’m so sad there isn’t more seasons. Looking for any suggestions of similarly funny light hearted shows.

Check out Detectorists and Schitts Creeks if you haven’t yet.
1
Turbulent_Signal6507 Mar 21, 2026 +2
It’s the best one though… I’ll argue the season 2 - season 3 run is better than any part of the Office, Parks & Rec, Community, etc I think Detroiters has similar warm / weird ratio but it’s a bit cruder than Stath. You might like Joe Pera Talks with You.
2
felina_ Mar 21, 2026 +2
Oh yeah for sure! It definitely rivals the big ones. I also binged it way too fast. And okay I’ve watched Detrioters recently! It is also quite good. I love that descriptor of warm/ weird. That’s exactly it haha! I’ll have to check out Joe Pera Talks with You. Thank you!
2
Turbulent_Signal6507 Mar 21, 2026 +1
Natasha Demetriou and Ellie White (Sophie & Katie on Stath) also have a sketch show that’s hard to find outside of the U.K…. Haven’t watched it yet but I got a hold of some of the episodes - can’t wait they’re so funny together 😆.

What’s the opinion on Nine Perfect Strangers? Currently watching and after 4 episodes I’m not really sure what to think about it. I like the cast enough to keep watching, but story wise I’m not sold yet.

Season 1 was okay. Season 2 was unwatchable.

Watching Firefly for the first time and really loving it! Knowing there’s potentially an animated series coming out as well is exciting and really the reason I started watching
3
Ancient-Dust3077 Mar 20, 2026 +4
marshall...it's not good. it's like a CSI show, just so generic. Yellowstone is so much better, but this has no sheridan so that's why it feels so generic
4
Dramatic_Top6859 Mar 21, 2026 +1
Agreed , it’s terrible

FknPitsy Mar 20, 2026 +7
Justified: after seeing so many people here recommend it, I decided to give it a whirl. Thought season 1 was ok. Second half of the season really picked up. Season 2 was fantastic. Real jump in quality, as it focused more on Harlan and all its systems, and people. I’m hoping the rest of the seasons are as good as that!

Gbbgcsu Mar 21, 2026 +4
You will not be disappointed. Timothy and Walton have such a wonderful chemistry.

The Pitt, which is amazing, and an older show a friend recommended, Travelers, which is a totally different kind of amazing.

I watched FX's The Beauty Season 1 earlier this week. The show starts out like a generic thriller/mystery that takes you to different places, but it gets more interesting as the show progresses. I am now watching FX's Snowfall Season 4.

So Long, Marianne. The story of Leonard Cohen and Marianne Ihle makes for 6 hours of perfectly fine television. 4/6.

The one on Netflix speaking French? I loved that show. So unsettling
2

No that's a different show.  https://m.imdb.com/title/tt19369032/ So Long Marianne. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt10875696/ - Marianne.

It's a co-production between Norway and Canada. There's one episode where they briefly speak French.

Paradise, the Pitt, Industry , and The other Bennett sister was lighthearted. Tried to watch Stumble and I really couldn’t stand it, The mockumetary thing feels too overdone for me. Just not for me

La Oficina. Just released this month. It's the Mexican version of The Office. It's f****** hilarious. Great adaptation. Sadly it's only available in Latin America. So even if you have a Prime membership you need to sail to high seas to watch it in the USA.

wesimplymustknow Mar 20, 2026 +2
Thanks for the rec! Wouldn’t have discovered this otherwise! Excited to watch
2
cerpintaxt33 Mar 20, 2026 +2
Does it copy the US plot lines, or is it its own story?
2
One_Weird2371 Mar 20, 2026 +3
Own story. It's a soap selling business. Boss is basically a nepo baby with Daddy issues. Does follow some US plot lines like branch potentially shutting down. Pam character is customer support/client relationships and has a boyfriend.
3
cerpintaxt33 Mar 20, 2026 +2
Sounds cool, too bad I’ll probably never see it lol

I enjoyed most of my selections this week. One was the least interesting ones I played in the background whilst cooking so didn't need to pay too much attention it was a ridiculous adaptation. 1. **Death Valley, Britbox BBC Wales** \- Wales is so picturesque and cosy.  I want to disappear in the scenery. Also, what a good show.  I love the two characters, it's one of the best Buddy Cop shows I've watched in recent years 2. **Chad Powers, Hulu** \- Watched the pilot and I'm not sure I'll watch the rest.  I am a fan of some of Glen Powell's work but not this. 3. **Ludwig, BBC One, UK** \- The better one of two puzzle master detective shows.  I enjoyed this one and the predictable missing twin storyline.  It was fun 4. **Murder Most Puzzling** \- (Based on The Puzzle Lady) This one feels like it was going for Dramedy but landed in soap opera cheesy.  At one point even two characters fake-kiss in that way from years and years ago where they very obviously turn the cheek and hide the face, actually all the acting is so on the nose and the background music adds to the kinda cheapish feel of the show.  I dunno it feels like a deflating balloon falling from the sky. 5. **The Beauty** \- I got to episode 5 but yeesh, the poor guy who looksmaxxed his face by literally breaking bones ew , nope the manosphere is dreadfully freaky. But then he is a psychopath so there's that.  The whole show has this awkward pacing during dialogue, can't put my finger on it but it's strange. The trailer makes it out to be some hilarious bonkers show and you'd be forgiven for thinking Kutcher appears in every scene but thankfully he plays a sleazebag in small doses which is probably fitting. Does it want to be a comedy or a mystery or a horror? Rebecca Hall noped out of there real quick getting infected with "The Beauty".  I enjoyed the first two episodes with Evan Peters and Rebeca flexing their linguistic skills. 6. **Small Prophets** \-  Unexpectedly tender.  His neighbor is such a tosser but he's also hilarious because we've probably had neighbors exactly like that which is why I live on a ranch and my nearest neighbors are 15 minutes on foot.  Long distances make good neighbors.  To the prophets - they are tragic. I felt so sad for them every time they were on screen.  When the one prophet bit his tail from stress when what'serface was screaming, it looked agonizing for the little creature. Oh One character **SUCKS** \- I absolutely hate the guy - the fat one always harassing Michael.  Is his name Birgham, Birmingham - Whatever the f*** his name is, I wanted to fast forward through his scenes every time.  What an absolute shyte. 7. **Small Achievable Goals** \- Georgie from Stumble is in this which is why I chose to watch it but she leaves halfway presumably t film Stumble  Kris and I forget the other lady's name - WOW I mean if you're squeamish you better not watch this. Blood everywhere, menopause and peri-menopause and cysts and anxiety and panic attacks. It took me by surprise but by season 2 I was already invested. Waiting on season 3.

Capital-Timely Mar 20, 2026 +2
Small prophets was so cute, you should check out The detectorists , same vibe and an endearing watch

I see from the panel on the right that The Count of Monte Cristo will be showing on PBS. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS VERSION YOU NEED TO SEE IT. It's 9.5/10 program - the story and cinematography are amazing. Currently watching: Paradise S2 Karen Pirie S2 The Pitt - about to start S2 Finished Reyka S1 - South African crime drama Monarch S2E1 was great... ready for more.

I watched S1 when it came out out of curiosity and promptly hated all the human characters - but I wanted to see monsters - and this show DELIVERS - that's what held me. So later this year, yes, I will watch Season 2 - for the MONSTERS.
1
tablecontrol Mar 20, 2026 +3
yes, that's it. S1 really didn't get good until the last couple of episodes.. S2 really takes off with the monsters

I started ER to fill the need for more of the Pitt! The doctors are such assholes in comparison except Noah Wylie who is over to top with his open mouthed wonder of the ER.

**Daredevil: Born Again** - on Hulu now so binged and was a good watch but man Hulu is freaking relentless with its commercials. **Imperfect Women** - was thinking of starting because of Washington and Mara but unsure. Anyone recommend? **Paradise S2**, **The Hunt**, **Monarch**, and **Marshals**

My list of ongoing shows is reaching maximum capacity! I'll specifically mention **Neighbors** on HBO, which has it's season finale tonight. A24 produced, six episodes, each focusing on a couple of the most outlandish/minor neighbor/residential disputes that have spiraled out of control. It's fun, lowbrow entertainment seeing how much people have wound themselves up about the disputed strip of grass between their houses. Recommend! **The Pitt** continues to be excellent, though my streaming-addled brain is struggling to enjoy the week-to-week as much as binging the first season. Based on the writers for the four forthcoming episodes, we've got some great TV still to come. Watching **St. Denis Medical**, **Paradise**, **Rooster**, **DTF St. Louis**, and **The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins**, and **Invincible** week-to-week. **Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood**, **How to Get to Heaven from Belfast**, and **Veep** in between. Stoked for some **Jury Duty** S2 as well!
