It depends on what happened. Mistakes and patterns matter

When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time

As long as the thing the person did isn't as touching as for example any types of disloyalty i think there could be seconds chance

Some people actually do deserve a second chance, some tho !

It depends on exactly what the first chance was and if the person is capable of communicating and changing their behavior or not. Cheating? Hell no. Forgetting to feed the dog? Fine, if the dog doesn't get to you first.

Totally agree, second chances are good, depending on the circumstances of the first chance.

People have the right to a second chance if they have paid their dues. But those they hurt don't have to forgive them and people are allowed to be suspicious. It's on that person to convince others that they are reformed. A big issue in the US and some other nations is that even petty criminals have everything stacked against them, making a return to crime far more likely. I gave several former criminals work and for the most part it was a big success. I was always cautious sure, but I treated them like people and they were always good with me. Any issues with not working out was simply suitability for the job rather than behavioural.

Depends on a number of factors including what they did with their first chance and whether they have true remorse.

Second chance in a practical sense? ie. They made a mistake with the work they were doing? Yes. Second chance in a social/emotional way? Rare, unlikely, or never. Unless they're a child, then they're either socially inept or try to be sneaky with you.

Depends on the person. Are they willing to actually work for that second chance. Or are they going to squander it. Some people do deserve a second chance but it really does come down to what they did and will they actually try to be better from it. Though some folks might take a second chance for granted but thats why I feel like someone really has to try and prove they deserve it.

It mainly depends on the other party's attitude and what happened.

I like to give second chances as long as the person is genuinely remorseful and tries to fix whatever occurred. If they’re a b**** through the process I let the trash take itself out

It depends on the scenario, but most people deserve a second chance, but it does greatly depend on the circumstances

Depends entirely on whether the first chance taught them anything or just confirmed what they already believed they could get away with.

Like a lot of others are saying, it depends on what they did. I am one of those people that gives almost everyone a million chances but I almost always regret it in the end.

I’m pretty supportive of second chances. Lord knows I need them often enough.

Our character is measured not in the mistakes that we make, but in the mistakes that we don’t make again. We all deserve a second chance, we just don’t always get the opportunity to show our growth to those we harmed. The people we harm get to decide whether they want to open themselves up to being hurt again, all you get to decide is if you’ll show up in the way you didn’t the first time, be it with the person you harmed or with someone new. If you make the same mistake, you never deserved the second chance to begin with, and you’ll only ever know if you truly deserved it until you are faced with the same test again.

I believe in some forgiveness not really more than once tho

It depends on the situation, if the person deeply breaked my trust its hard for me to give a second chance. And even if I did, giving a second chance doesnt mean forgetting about what happened.

In a working environment, if they are inside their probation, I feel remedial training is justified before termination. This may not be possible if your leadership prevents it. I once was tasked to oversee the imaging portion of new crime scene technicians. One (a single mother) was having inconsistencies with how she recorded her scenes. I offered to spend time with her to get her up to speed. The department chief decided to fire her instead. This type of rigidity eventually led to me resigning and working elsewhere.

Yes if they learned and willing to prove it No if it’s just words and not actions

A second chance only makes sense if something has changed. Otherwise, it may just lead to the same outcome

Would have to go with my gut and see if someone has genuinely changed. If my gut tells me now, Adios!

Everybody deserves a second chance even if it was something really bad. A chance to redeem themselves but nothing more than that
