I liked the idea of it. Where anything that generates enough power ceases to function so you have steam engines and the train as the powerhouses. That was cool. It lost me when people started getting keys to turn the power on.

I don't think the creators even understood the difference between chemical and electrical energy when creating the show. When someone finally asked why humanity didn't instantly drop dead from their nervous systems failing, the showrunner definitely just said, 'I'm gonna need you to get all the way off my back about basic biology. Also, no guns, because sword fights are TIGHT!' Stuffing the plot with magic USB pendants so the bad guys can suddenly fly helicopters? Super easy, barely an inconvenience.

It reminds me of this book series called the Emberverse where it went a step further. No firearms and no steam engines. No keys to turn the power on, it was turned off because god iirc.

Started off well, but quickly veered due to a weak cast and uneven plot. Might have done better away from the shackles of network tv

I thought it was a solid idea but it didn't really rise to its potential. I'd say it's a 6/10 series. Worth watching but I wouldn't strongly recommend it as a must watch.

Agreed completely. Felt the exact same way

Shouldn’t have tried to explain why the power went out and just concentrated on what the non-electronic world looked like

Wasn't even the only apocalyptic event show around that era either.

I liked it and felt it had great potential and wish they had gotten to the sci fi stuff quicker and more often. I would have liked to see it continue and wish there was a reboot.

It was fun but nothing remarkable. I thought the concept was interesting and the show was at its best when they expanded the world. It was cool to see how different parts of the country formed their own little governments. I have not watched it since it aired but if I recall in s2 they even really expanded out further into the west.

I loved it!

Interesting concept, but didn't like the characters, and it was laughable how clean they were and how well-styled their hair was for a post-apocalyptic setting.

That is what really turned me off the show. Oh, you walked 500 miles under a hot sun. Yet they all looked like they were ready to shoot a clothes commercial.

Had potential. Loved the fight scenes. Hated the girl character.

My sister and I tried watching this and it was sooo bad. We ended up sort of hate-watching it and laughing constantly. So I actually have fond memories of that show.

Super cool concept and I still love Tracy Spiridakos (😍) but overall it didn’t live up to what it should have been

Wasn't really sci-fi. More like post apocalyptic dystopia

Cool show but had stupid ideas and got canceled before anything came together. The next season could have possibly validated the show but the network shafted it

Utter shite from start to finish. A sci Fi show where the writers didn't even know the most basic science.

Was fun. Could tell the budget was way too high, was never gonna make it multiple seasons.

Way too campy. I would've liked it to be more serious and gritty.

I thought it started off fun and I enjoyed aspects of it, but it managed to jump the shark within a single season. I don’t understand how it could’ve been green-lit by anyone with an actual outline of the whole season. The whole “mystery” was just dumb. Was it green-lit before they decided it was caused by nanobots (or whatever it was)??
