Black out, shut down, no food, cannibalism. No work, no AI, no tv, no phones. Nature and us. Nomad-no meal a day.

I think we have a long tome before that happens and we're working towards clean alternatives. But we'll always have coal or even trash to burn for power.

Uh... the Trump administration has taken steps to limit clean fuel and energy alternatives, pivoting heavily toward fossil fuels. We are also blowing up oil factories in Iran, and due to this parts of Asia and Australia are facing a severe oil crisis and needing to purchase it from the US.

Define a long time? Current estimates are between 1.3 and 1.7 trillion barrels left, at the current rate of consumption that is estimated between 40 and 50 years. Before we get close to running out it will stop flowing freely and be prohibitively expensive. Global trade relies on oil, we can't have coal or trash powered ocean liners and planes. There are also vital industries that rely on petrochemicals other than the energy sector.

Alot of things we don't need go away, it wouldn't be so bad, if we focused on nuclear power, the issue is fossil fuel powers farm equipment that has led to us making massive amounts of food. We were statically at 500 million most of human History and people still starved often. Now we are closing in at 9 billion.  And we are all fat.  That will go away quick. That being said I wouldn't worry, they made nuclear fusion work, just for the smallest period of time, but they have since doubled it.  Double of nothing is still nothing.  But they have the science behind cold fusion working.  Now we are just refining it enough to be useful.

it’d be chaos, fr. we’d probably see a crazy transition to renewables, but the short term would be a mess with prices skyrocketing and transportation going haywire.
