Partner ordering airstrikes on a baby owl sanctuary.

This one is serious. I wouldn’t even bother with the divorce - I would start the owl rebellion. After the war, there will be no court system to even enact a divorce. The marriage won’t be recognized by the Greater Birds of Prey world government.

When I found out my husband was wearing huge balloons under a tight t-shirt and skin tight pink hotpants. That did it for me. I'm close to taking him out to the gravel pit. ;-)

I let it happen to me until I grew up & said no more! I’m an adult woman making most of the money & doing most of the chores!

When you and your partner had completely different expectations. One person wanted a partnership between two kindred spirits in love. The other wanted a roleplaying template circa 1955. You not being the breadwinner, and them not being "a housewife" is seen as unfair. FFS, people -- get to know someone really well before considering marriage!

Going to sleep without talking it out.
-1
tombatboots Apr 3, 2026 +12
F*** that noise. Sometimes you really do need to let some time pass to let things simmer down before they can be addressed in a healthy and productive style, and forcing an issue before you're both ready to discuss it calmly and/or sacrificing sleep is not going to make things any better.
12
RemoteFennel6872 Apr 3, 2026 -7
You should never go to bed angry
-7
tombatboots Apr 3, 2026 +3
Cool. You're not gonna change my mind. 🤷🏻‍♀️

trigunnerd Apr 3, 2026 +2
Das some grandpa-ass advice. Scientifically, people need to relax instead of continuing a lot of high-stress conversations. Fights and arguments can be done in 2 parts. Or more! The longer one goes, the more stressful it gets.
2
732 Apr 3, 2026 +6
Sometimes talking it out in the morning is better when you have had a chance to cool off.
6
RemoteFennel6872 Apr 3, 2026 -2
Dont let the sun set on your anger
-2
732 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Nah. There are healthy and productive ways to handle this. Forcing a conversation when you're tired, emotionally activated, and potentially angry means you will say things you regret. Instead, try saying "hey, I recognize I am not thinking clearly enough to say what I mean and fully hear your perspective. Let's talk about this when we both get home from work tomorrow so I can be more present with you." And then hold yourself to that commitment and revisit the conversation.
