What is a movie you loved as a kid, but realized was actually terrible when you rewatched it as an adult?

Pretty much every movie I loved as a kid. Turns out my standards were just ‘bright colors = masterpiece.' 🥴

The Highlander (The lore is amazing, but the movie is terrible. I still love it though.)

Honestly, me and my significant other just watched the first Spider-Man trilogy, and they were way worse than we remembered. Last night we watched The Amazing Spider-Man and it was way better.

Andrew Garfield ~~was~~ is the best Spiderman by far. I love all of them, but Garfields acting fits spiderman better than the other two.

Forrest Gump is a sermon from Conservative America to the rest of us.  I just thought the representations of history were cool, and then I got older and saw how different things were represented, comparatively, and It's clear. Forrest represents the right wing path, Jenny the left, according to crusty boomers.

What about non-crusty boomers or bloomers as I first read it?

Any movie depicting thieves as heroes like Indiana Jones , or any war against native Americans

As a kid I always hated how he destroyed everything he touched. And then someone commented about how he is such a bad archeologist as he never preserve anything.

Catwoman ( 2004 ). As a kid I was obsessed with her. Until recently when I rewatched the movie I almost cried because boy that movie couldn't get more massacred. And it had such potential.

Wind talkers (2002) and resident evil apocalypse (2004) thought they were brilliant as a young teenager. Absolutely unwatchable now. Last time I did apocalypse was just before re 3 remake came out and last time I did wind talkers I turned it off mid way.

Gone with the Wind. Adored it. Happened upon it recently and - even absent the glorification of the South - the consent issues are abhorrent. (I actually had to get up and leave the room during the burning of Atlanta scene. Nevermind Scarlett’s extremely cheerful demeanor the morning after being raped…)
