Losing your identity. You stop being 'You' and just become 'Someone’s Dad

One thing people don't talk about enough is how much of yourself you quietly give up your time, your routines, even parts of your identity and how long it takes to feel like "you" again. It's worth it, no doubt but it's deeper adjustment than most folks ever admit.

Nobody tells you that watching them struggle as adults is somehow harder than the sleepless nights when they were babies.

The constant, never ending worry. Mine are young adults now and I worry far more than when they were small. But the love makes it all worthwhile.
