What is something you realized was a 'scam' only after you became an adult?

That working hard always leads to success. Turns out it helps… but it’s definitely not a guarantee.

Hard work+luck=success (most of the time)

It does lead to success but it’s more about who you know.

Insurance. You pay money to a company that is supposed to help you pay for something when the time comes, only for them to have you pay even more money when the time comes.

Or the company cancels your policy if you have too many claims within a certain time period!

Insurance  Looking rich - most of those people are broke and most rich people look normal in public  Political parties - they are all crooks  The “fact” there is a set price, almost everything is negotiable

Class rings. Those pieces of junk were $300-$600 in 2010 and look pretty lame. Luckily my mom talked me out of it and took me on a graduation trip instead

Entry level job requirements. How the f*** you gonna ask for years of experience? That's why I'm applying, to get experience!

Wiping after taking a shit. It's a lie perpetuated by toilet paper companies to make money off our shit. It'll dry and flake off all by itself

Life. That “working harder” was what I needed to be a successful adult. The real part is that I make less than online hoochie hoes selling butthole pics 🤷‍♀️
