What is the best tv episode of all time?

There’s another episode of TD that is legendary for other reasons.

Everything perfectly builds. The tightest comedy script ever.

Yep, very glad to see this one towards the top. This episode is just like pure comedy. It’s so good from beginning to end. Edit: the scene where Jen asks Roy how he got disabled and then turns to get him a drink only to find Moss behind the bar is one of the single best choreographed jokes.

"You Only Move Twice", is the best episode of The Simpsons in my personal view.

I just came to the realization that my favorite episode is "A Milhouse Divided". Kirk drawing dignity, Can I borrow a Feeling, homer coming home to the frozen hotdogs, and the actual shenanigans are one thing. But I think it is the single funniest episode for Homer lines, especially those that are not actually at his expense. Everyone loves "I sleep in a big bed with my wife" but the episode is FULL of those one liners. My favorite is when he's at Kirk's apartment and Kirk mentions the bathroom and homer says "you mean the one down the hall?"

The gang tries desperately to win an award is this episode for me. Charlie coming out of the floor with paint all over his face, and the gang thinking oh well at least he wrote a good song, and he immediately goes, ".... theres a spider..." and mac panicking, "DENNIS THE RATIO IS OFF"

You can pick any episode of BoB. In my (meaningless) opinion, Band of Brothers is the greatest show ever. I have rewatched at least a dozen times, it is remarkably well done. Perfectly cast, amazing scenery & locations, it is a heartbreaking story.

Christian Rock Hard. The music. The jokes. The karma at the end

It's so easy to forget that Game of Thrones was consistently some of the best television we've ever seen because of how negatively it is remembered over how poorly it ended.

Pillows and Blankets is up there too. My personal favourite is Basic Lupine Urology, the Law and Order homage.

My favourite is the episode Abed makes a documentary.

The counterpoint to that episode is DS9s "Hard Time" where O'Brien lives a 20 year solitary prison sentence in a few hours

Not just Paulie/Chrissy's shenanigans but also Tony's. He had a London broil thrown at him by his goomah! To me, that was the funniest scene in that episode.

Tony and Carmella's blowout fight in the Season 4 finale is some of the best acting ever on TV though.

It’s far from my favourite episode (probably “deal me out”). But holy shit, after a couple of iffy seasons boy did they stick the landing. And for me overall still the best sitcom of all time.

Easily my favorite episode in the series. The ending, where you finally see what ship Mal had been looking at while the salesman prattled on, was absolutely perfect.

Ozymandias got special permission to wait until 17 minutes in to show the title sequence in order to maintain the drama.

Crawl Space is still my favorite Breaking Bad episode and is the reason I still find Season 4 to be better than Season 5

Also *Its Only A Paper Moon*. That shit goes *way* too hard for casual evening broadcast TV. Enjoying dinner with your family and *bang* one of the most gut wrenching dives into combat PTSD in recent history involving a child soldier who if you've been a fan of the show you've been following since he was a little boy.

That episode had everything - drama, stunts. Art direction, effects, costume design, and excellent script and direction.

Who are you is good. But “One Way Out” is better IMO. That whole series is peak television regardless of your view on Star Wars as a whole.

Buffy has so many. The Body, Hush, Tabula Rasa/Once More with Feeling...

SPOILER FOR A 30 YEAR OLD TV SHOW BELOW The fact that so many people are killed by monsters and vampires and such and we're all along for the ride, and then Buffy loses her mom to just... Life. Just a normal, sad, nothing you can do about it moment... That heartbreak at "Mom.... Mom? ... ^Mommy?" Holy f*** it crushes you.

I’m watching Buffy with my husband who has never seen it right now, and we’re so close to The Body. I’m dreading watching it again but I’m really interested to see someone who has never seen it react.

Niles really made that show, imo. David Hyde Pierce's acting is so wonderful. One of my favourite performances of his is in the Ham Radio episode, where he >!goes on a rant and kills all 6 of his characters!< 🤣

That episode stressed me out so much and I hated but but even in my childhood brain I knew it felt that way because it was objectively “good.”

The prison sequence in Andor is my very favourite part of the show. Andy Serkis is f****** great as Kino Loy. Was disappointed to hear he wasn't back for season 2, but probably wasn't much they could have done with him.

Just watched it again last week. Sheen is absolutely phenomenal in that episode, and so much of his acting is subtle -- an expression, body language, etc. I've probably watched the entire series 5 times since the first Trump election.

If my wife dies before me, I'm going to ask for a line from this episode to be on my gravestone - "I'm old, I'm satisfied, and you were my purpose." An absolutely amazing episode of TV. It's so sad that for some people it was unwatchable because of their homophobia. They missed out on some beautiful truths about life and love and loss.

I always liked Offerman as an actor, but that episode made me realise just how good he actually is. If he had a larger part in Civil War, he definitely would have won some awards.

Yep. Pine Barrens gets lots of love but this is the champion. The acting from both of the leads is off the charts.

I always have to stop at the episode before, that last one is just too much for me to rewatch. It is amazing though!

Spectrum dropped Corncob TV before I could watch it. Tried finding it on YouTube but all that came up was something called “Bozo Dubbed Over.” It only had one view…

Even more amazing if you watch it right after watching the previous episode, which is one of the most tense, chaotic, stressful episodes of TV ever made. Going from that to the quiet, measured, methodical genius of Forks was f****** powerful. It's like the show is telling you "maybe restaurant life doesn't need to be that bad"

It's far less well known, but I'm personally a huge fan of M\*A\*S\*H S4 episode 19 "Hawkeye". Hawkeye gets stranded far from the base after a car wreck and is helped by a Korean family. None of them can understand him, and he can't understand them... And he's concussed, so Alan Alda does what he does best and launches into a 22 minute monologue. It's utterly fantastic.

Tapestry for me. Q messing with Picard but teaching him about himself.

This would also be my answer. The realization that the past four seasons were leading up to that exact moment. The realization Elliot wasn't just a weirdo. The realization that that show you've been watching for four seasons wasn't even nearly as sci-fi or far fetched as you thought it was. All those realisations packed into one split second. I watched it seven years ago and I'm still speechless.
