My niece used to insist on making ‘restaurant menus’ for me whenever I visited, complete with tiny drawings of the food, she was so proud and serious about it, I couldn’t stop laughing.

my nephew used to do something similar but with "tickets" to his living room concerts where he'd just bang on pots and pans for like 20 minutes straight, kid was absolutely convinced he was the next beethoven

Came back from school as I was studying for my finals to announce that today at school they learnt that "Hitler turned people into soap!"
I then proceeded to rant about how Hitler was merely a pawn in the grand scheme of things and that the real Soap-maker was Himmler and his buddies and Hitler just didn't care.

my nephew used to call butterflies "flying flowers" and that lives in my head rent free. hes 16 now and would cringe but i dont care. some things just hit different when youre three years old and poetic.
