The chances of anything coming from Mars is a million to one. But still they come. Chilling.

The recent edition with Liam Neeson narrating is pants compared to the Richard Burton version.

Lawyering_Bob Apr 1, 2026 +9
Did you just pull a Murray line from flight of the concords ?
9
colin_staples Apr 1, 2026 +16
One of the few albums where every single song is 10/10 So many "great albums" are really just "an album that has 3 or 4 great songs while the rest are meh" Rumours is truly brilliant from start to finish
16
OkHead3888 Apr 1, 2026 +5
Gratitude. Earth Wind & Fire. Not a bad track on a Double Album. Incredible.
5
jourdanm Apr 1, 2026 +6
Just wish Oh daddy had been replaced by silver springs.

London Calling, The Clash. There really is something for everyone on that album
25
Z3nArcad3 Apr 1, 2026 +162
This may be cliché as hell but hearing *OK Computer* for the first time was mind-blowing. From start to finish, it just got greater and greater.
162
uhohspgto Apr 1, 2026 +8
This is my favorite album of all time also. There are others, like Rumours or Dark Side of the Moon, that are prefect from start to finish, but I would definitely say OK Computer is too.
8
fool_on_a_hill Apr 1, 2026 +8
I preferred In Rainbows until I took psychedelics and now OK Computer just hits different. Never listened to it on psychs, just weed.
8
axlgreece5202 Apr 1, 2026 +10
It's not cliche if something's actually that good.
10

Dark Side of the Moon
456
silverfox762 Apr 1, 2026 +111
Sober, listening with headphones or an amazing stereo in a dark room? *Dark Side of the Moon* is an absolute masterpiece. But, if you're high on psychedelics, listening with headphones or an amazing stereo in a dark room? *Wish You Were Here* ..... on repeat.
111
Gramage Apr 1, 2026 +55
Yeah, I actually think Wish You Were Here is the better album.
55
mattychops Apr 1, 2026 +25
They are both masterpieces but wish you were here is the ultimate gem. The diamond. If I could only have one album, it's that one.
25
eredeli Apr 1, 2026 +9
Agree. Wish is the better album for me. Dark Side is so perfectly polished I find it too perfect.
9
deceptivekhan Apr 1, 2026 +7
I have to agree. Can’t go wrong with Floyd though.

S_I_G_M_A179 Apr 1, 2026 +18
I'll do you one seriously underrated one, The Division Bell. Absolute masterclass from start to end, I seriously hate at times at how underrated it seems to be
18
Timekeeper65 Apr 1, 2026 +7
I went to the 1995 Division Bell concert. Comfortably numb was mind blowing. Sigh.
7
spindawg23 Apr 1, 2026 +4
Love that album. Definitely underrated!
4
No_Intern_2234 Apr 1, 2026 +4
Oh yes, Dark Side of the Moon hits different every single time, like it sees right into your soul and refuses to let go.

Mayonaise might be the best song ever written for people who feel lonely.
15
Ringosis Apr 1, 2026 +77
Every time I listen to In An Aeroplane Over The Sea I can't believe how good it is. It's like my brain refuses to accept its brilliance.
77
jackofjokers Apr 1, 2026 +11
soaked in a subtle sadness, balanced with energy, divine distortion and a strange sense of optimism. Also one of my favourites, gives me a sense of nostalgia of a time I never experienced.
11
mastrcorbot3000 Apr 1, 2026 +4
Yeah, this was going to be my answer too. Sucks that they broke up, but NMH would never have been able to top this so I'm almost glad they never made another album.

Demon days - gorillaz
96
Dr_Fumi Apr 1, 2026 +10
A lot of their recent albums hadn't been hitting for me personally, but their newest one *The Mountain* is easily in my top 3 Gorillaz albums, and is such a solid concept from start to finish. I highly recommend trying it if you haven't yet!
10
Electrical_Sun_7116 Apr 1, 2026 +8
I remember watching the Demon Days DVD of the show they put on for that tour and it blew me away. The creativity and presentation was just so unique and interesting, they are on another level.

Ok_Rip_1497 Apr 1, 2026 +71
Has to be The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. I know it’s a cliché answer, but bruhh, listening to it with headphones in the dark is a spiritual experience. Period.
71
Duck_Kak Apr 1, 2026 +22
Very close second place (if it was a race) would be Wish you were here..
22
Ok_Rip_1497 Apr 1, 2026 +5

Nirvana - Nevermind
97
digsy Apr 1, 2026 +10
People like to shit on this record to be edgy, but it didn't change the world for nothing. It sounds incredible.
10
Hamsternoir Apr 1, 2026 +7
People who shit on it probably weren't there when it came out and not aware the impact it had on those of us who bought it at the time. There were some great bands that were part of the change around that time but Nevermind really was different.
7
DarbyDown Apr 1, 2026 +15
I remember hearing it at a party early 1991. The party stopped and we all just listened and asked questions about the band. Played it three or four times start to finish, even waiting for the “secret groove” on the last song. It destroyed the poppy hair metal that dominated rock back then. There were maybe fifteen of us at that party and one Nirvana CD. In four days every one of us had bought the album.

Some duality here but Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and Illmatic by NAS
61
RunningSouthOnLSD Apr 1, 2026 +9
If Silver Springs were on the album in the place of Oh Daddy I truly don’t think there would be a better album ever. They had to sandbag just a little bit to make sure every other artist didn’t just quit.
9
alliownisbroken Apr 1, 2026 +15
I like the cut of your jib.

Obviously an impossible question, but I'd find it hard to argue against Astral Weeks - Van Morrison
4
alliownisbroken Apr 1, 2026 +4
Too hard of a question to answer but recently the death of slim shady by Eminem is a absolute masterpiece of an album. I also got to throw out 36 Chambers by Wu-Tang Clan, Bon Iver's first album, you don't mess around with Jim by Jim Croce, and the Beatles first album.

Billy Breathes by Phish. An incredible musical masterpiece from start to finish. I highly recommend sitting with it one night with headphones, or a good stereo. No distractions, just the album. I've never found anything quite like it.
3
Mediocrates79 Apr 1, 2026 +3
The best album is always a time and place thing. If you're slamming an 80's Camaro on a county road with a couple road sodas in 1990, Appetite for Destruction from GnR is going to be a life changing experience. If you're a teenager in 1980 and pissed off at your ex, Rumors will hit hard. If you played dark side of the moon the first time you smoked weed with your friends you'll think you have witnessed a greatness that has never been seen before. But the REAL answer is Tool. If you GET tool you get it in ways that other music just can't touch. For me, without exaggeration, micro dosing on mushrooms while solo hiking through the Appalachian mountains with 10,000 days at full volume might have saved my life.
3
Budget_Coach9124 Apr 1, 2026 +3
ok this is gonna sound basic but dark side of the moon still hits different every single time. i make music now and every time i listen to it i notice something new in the production. the way the whole album flows as one piece... that changed how i think about structuring my own tracks. honorable mention to kid a though, that album broke my brain in the best way
