What is your partners favorite movie?

Posted by DaisyPachesAndAKnife

So my husband loves Deadpool and Wolverine like no other. He could watch it every single day nonstop and be in heaven. It’s hilarious. Yes. But it’s not my top pick. His second is Tropic Thunder and that is definitely one of my tops. But what could you put on for your partner and they will immediately be over the moon and almost embarrassingly giddy?

I'd struggle with one, But all of them... I might go insane, I know they're excellent movies, just not for me, Give me Sicario, Terminator, Get Out, American Gangster, Shawshank, Green Mile or A Great War Film or Horror anyday, ✌️🍻💯

Sound of Music. I’m going to surprise her one day out of the blue with a trip to Austria. Not on our anniversary, not on her birthday, just a random Tuesday, pack your shiz we leave in the morning, or maybe we leave on Friday. I know her well enough to know she’s going to want some new clothes for the occasion.

I’ve never seen it and now it’s on my to watch list

Gambitismyheart Apr 3, 2026 +1
I finally just decided to watch this movie after so many years of just not bothering to start it. While I did enjoy it, I didn't get the hype over it. I couldn't rewatch it over and over. I think my favorite Keira Knightley period piece romance film is Atonement, because I just *love* her chemistry with James. He's also in my top 5 favorite actors. I also liked The Aftermath. But that was mostly because of Alexander. Lol (and they were hot together).

Mayorquimby87 Apr 3, 2026 +1
A valid form of foreplay.
1
Douglasqqq Apr 3, 2026 +10
Me and my wife watched all of the Lord Of The Rings movies back-to-back and she hated it. But in fairness, she wasn't the one facing the screen.

It's a repackaged Milton Jones joke. (Back-to-back can mean two things.)

Wedding Crashers! Every time it’s on we’re gonna watch at least like 5mins of it. It’s hilarious so I don’t mind.

My boyfriend of 5 years (now ex as I recently broke it off) his is The Departed. Mine is The Matrix.

Sorry about your ex, but these are both really good choices

My cats favorite is Ready or Not. He has questionable taste most of the time but he's right about that one.
5
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +2
This cat is ready to defend you in the apocalypse. Bravo.
2
MKkidd Apr 3, 2026 +1
Sorry lol, I know it wasn't in the spirit of your question. Don't have a partner, but don't let these chucklefucks insulting your mans choices get to you. Dumb as hell, it's all just entertainment. Edit: We're all just dudes playing the dude disguised as another dude.
1
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +1
This is me encouraging the stand up applause
1
Mayorquimby87 Apr 3, 2026 +1
My cat is genuinely enthralled whenever we put on The Lion King, I shit you not. He'll sometimes take an interest in other things on the screen, but he'll watch The Lion King for upwards of half the runtime.
1
MKkidd Apr 3, 2026 +1
Oh for sure, my post obviously wasn't what OP intended but it wasn't a lie. Lil fur ball is in love with Samara Weaving, doesn't matter what is on but if she shows up it's over. Does not surprise me a bit yours dials in on something in the LK, so few things hold cats attention for longer than like 4 seconds so when you see one it stands out. Bastards are smarter than we give them credit for, just in the weirdest ways.
1
BellaFlora112 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Either The Shawshank Redemption or Princess Mononoke. He’s got good taste.
2

Please don't tell me to f*** off because it really hurts my feelings. Heather: I hurt your feelings? Yeah, all the time. Heather: Tremendous! That's tremendous! Go get your stupid year book, I would be happy to sign it. Hahaha. I can quote this film all day long.

I think my wife's favorites would be Across the Universe (which is also one of my favorites) and About Time (which I have to be in the mood for, but nonetheless I would recommend it to almost anyone).

Hangman969 Apr 3, 2026 -7
Honestly that's a huge red flag lol. Is your husband 16 years old?
-7
Additional_Ice_358 Apr 3, 2026 +5
A huge red flag is judging someones husband for their movie choices which is completely subjective. F****** nerd ass listnookors man. Get a life.
5
Hangman969 Apr 3, 2026 -1
Get angry. DvW is one of the most pessimistic, people will literally pay for endless nostalgia references, let's not even try, trash "movies" ever made. Someone who can watch that over and over really must have literal brain damage, lol.
-1
Additional_Ice_358 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Lol i'm not angry i just think you're a f****** dork. A guy who thinks he can look down on people for opinions is something i equate to a 16 year old. I used to wonder why listnookors would get clowned on every social media but i started following the movies sublistnook.
2
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +1
Yo you’ve gotta to touch grass and get off moms teet
1
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 -2
….I’d be mortified if my 16 year old got that type of humor.
-2
SonnyBurnett189 Apr 3, 2026 +3
They’re probably watching much worse
3
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +4
I mean… you’re right. Ph is free soooo
4
Ready_Corgi462 Apr 3, 2026 +3
You’d be mortified if your 16 year old child understood a movie that is deemed fully appropriate for 17 year olds? Lmao
3
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +1
As an adult, is the movie funny or not
1
Diakia Apr 3, 2026 +1
Tell your husband to watch Logistics (2012)
1
Hangman969 Apr 3, 2026 +2
It's basically a movie of self-references and jokes kids make in middle school, a 16 year old, I was being generous.
2
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +1
A huge red flag is not having a sense of humor
1
mr_ji Apr 3, 2026 -2
Why not just ask what people's favorite movies are and let them speak for themselves? If they wanted to answer on Listnook, they would.
-2
DaisyPachesAndAKnife Apr 3, 2026 +1
You’re right. What’s your favorite movie sweetheart
