Adversity just like anything in life, seasons, your job, the weather etc

Reaching a point where the current situation is no longer sustainable (health scares, relationship breakdowns, or financial crises). The "I’m Fed Up" Moment: A quiet, internal snap where you simply cannot tolerate your own excuses anymore

Health scares is huge. My brothers and I have fought practically all our lives as teens we’ve never been able to do anything without someone getting mad. Once my dad had multiple strokes in a singular day we all changed. We all found God, started taking life seriously and actually loved each other rather than just saying it to get out of our timeout corner.

Committing a wrong so heinous that you spend multiple lifetimes having to atone for it.

The happiest people realize that change (due to life experience) is inevitable and they accept, or even embrace, those changes. The unhappiest people are those who try to stubbornly fight against anything that might change them, even if such change is potentially for the better.

Hardship I love telling people about Biosphere 2 (it was a gigantic greenhouse with several biomes) and how they grew trees. When the trees grew to a certain height, they fell over. There was research, and the found out that trees only grow heartwood when they're exposed to wind. Without something to fight against, we never develop the strength to grow to our maximum potential.

1-Trauma - trauma causes the brain to change. It could be a death of a loved one or witnessing a tragic event. It can be something that happens to the person directly as well. I’m talking everything from being abused to having a relationship with a narcissist. 2-Recognition of the need to make a change. Going back to school to get an education. Choosing to stop drinking or doing drugs. Bettering oneself. We are fundamentally the same person from birth to death and we change along the way for good or bad.

A lot of things. Ultimately people change based on the life they live and the things that happen to them in that life. Sometimes change can be good for a person themselves but not those around them. Life is complex when you’re the one involved but so simple when you are looking on from afar. If you’re asking this for a specific reason, I hope you find the answers you’re looking for.

Realizing the hurt he inflicted on another made her just as bad as me.

For the worse- money, drugs, ego, never take accountability. For the better- self-worth and taking accountability

This is the central question asked by Planescape Torment. The game suggests there is no correct answer. You spend the entire game trying to answer that question and you have multiple answers to choose from. There is no one answer because everyone has their own answer. But in a meta sense, the answer is atonement. You cannot change if you cannot face up to the wrongs you've done. In the end of the game, the character accepts his past self and fuses with it.

Time and experience. Change is a fundamental of nature ... those neurons move all on their own.

I heard a cool saying the other day that sort of answers this question for me: Change doesn't happen when you try to change your life; it happens when you live a changed life.

I’m going to take this ask in good faith. What helped me “change?” Anger. At myself. For forgetting who and what I used to be. I turn 60 next year, but that doesn’t matter. I just looked at myself for a looooooong time in the mirror (literally) and reminded myself that the little things matter. And my body and my life are getting better.

A mix of perspective and necessity. You either see something that changes your mind, or life forces your hand.

This one's an easy one there's no such thing as change it's an illusion created by our linear perspective of the passage of time everything is already everything all the things are already all the things people don't change because we are already all the things that we are just like every atom is already every phase it's going to ever be there's no such thing as change

A few summers ago I had this issue where I’d try to sleep, but somehow I’d just keep ending up with something like sleep paralysis. I’d feel fully awake, but I couldn’t move or blink. I would spend the entire night like that & it was excruciating. Just hours of being forced to stare at my ceiling or dresser. I could feel dog hair & dust collecting on my eyes. Night after night after night. I was hoping to see something creepy in the darkness so I’d at least know I was asleep, but I never did. It definitely changed me. I’ve been left with an extreme fear of not getting sleep and losing sleep (which doesn’t work well with a newborn), and it just left me like permanently numb, emotionally. Idk how to describe it, it’s just really hard to feel any emotions anymore - whereas before I was a very emotional person all the time.

Trauma or actually wanting to change. You can change if you really put your mind to a cause and take steps to work thru things…
