Most fast food hits the exact combo of fat, sugar, and salt that strongly activates dopamine

The whole convenience factor gets me too - like when youre exhausted after a long day and the thought of cooking anything feels impossible. Plus they literally engineer this stuff to be addictive so dont beat yourself up about it

It’s like, designed by really smart people to be addictive and unique. I’m a chef and for fun I’ve tried to just recreate a big mac. Not like a gourmet version, an exact replica and it’s impossible. I’ve made better tasting things, but nothing that really replicates it.

TV cannot advertise drugs but they can advertise food, they also advertise credit cards, we have no chance unless we are incredibly strong willed

Cooking gets so exhausting you have to prep and then cook everything and if your like me you use like 5 different pans and then by the time I sit down to eat I am over it and then I still have to clean up the whole kitchen 😭 Fastfood I just drive thru pick it up eat it and throw away trash 🥲

That salty-sweet hit of engineered bliss—it's literal brain crack you crave at 2am.

That dopamine-exploding flavor bomb—pure junkie bait disguised as convenience.

The convenience

I think it hits the dopamine button way harder than homemade food ever will.

When you’ve had too much of it over a long period of time, it literally changes your gut biome, which has a direct connection to your brain. At this point it’s no different than any other addiction; your gut is telling your brain that you need more fast food to maintain the balance.

The convenience, and there's probably a lot of them in your area, so you're always tempted.

Cooking feels like a side quest compared to it..

I’m not very good at cooking. Even if I try to follow a recipe. I need to get better because fast food is getting way too expensive and gaining even more weight.

It’s easy to quit when you have someone to come home to and cook with or for A lesser side it’s easy to quit when you have better takeout options and figure out meal prep The lowest side you can just buy an air fryer and get the same results

I am really surprised how much some people buy it considering how incredibly expensive it is. I have it when I'm out in the city at mealtime but I ain't paying for some Ubereats. My ex buys loads of it even though she can't afford it, it used to be really annoying for most of our leisure budget to go on fast food for herself

It’s convenient, c****, and requires zero effort.

You tell me, it’s your addiction apparently, not mine.
