"Death is so terribly final, while life is full of possibilities"
I think I only get one shot at it, so I may as well try to make a decent go of it and enjoy it when I can
Are you OK OP?

Call or text 988. Doing something to help someone else or make someone’s day is helpful to me. Smiling at and or making cheerful comments to strangers helps, too. Making someone else smile.

Apart from calling or texting the helpline, smiling at strangers is such horrible advice. Especially if someone struggles with real mental health issues this mindset of “smile” “be cheerful” “make others happy” does more harm than good. Not trying to be mean but as someone with mental health struggles I will say this advice is never helpful.

Huh. I do have mental health struggles, too. I don’t think you can just “be cheerful” but I can make uplifting comments to others who seem like they can use them.

Perhaps when you’re not in a state where even getting out of bed is a difficult thing to do. Pretty hard to be uplifting to others.

I have to agree with this lol. comparing traumas isn’t necessary but it can’t be that bad if smiling at people helps you feel better 😭

Having a reason to live is a great method. With the release of the epstein files proving we have vampires, why not dedicate yourself to learning more about and reducing their population. Risky work for a regular human, slaying vampires

honestly im terrified that death is going to be just pitch black and silent and i'll be stuck in a void unable to see or hear anything forever.. so even though life is scary i dont want the other option.. and sometimes i wish i was religious so i could imagine a heaven or a better place but i just cant

Just my family now. I’ve learned a lot in life. My greatest joys come from being with my wife and daughter. My second greatest joy is exploring on a motorcycle. Without my wife and daughter though, I don’t know that I’d have any drive to do anything anymore.

The people and animals I love keep me going. Can you get a pet? I hate the idea of leaving mine behind, especially because I know they would go to the pound. And since they are older, I doubt they would be adopted. They comfort me when I'm down and love me unconditionally, so I figure I need to at least do the same for them.
Take it 1 minute at a time. When that gets a little easier, up it to 5 and then 10 minutes. When you get yourself past that moment, be proud of your accomplishment, knowing that at least for now, you was able to pull yourself out of it. And be kind to yourself. I think we all have these times.
