I decided to follow the impulse to get pet rats. Way and by far the best decision I ever made. Even when I’m at my absolute lowest I think of them and keep going on.

Aww, rats are great when you know them! My ex-boyfriend years and years ago got a pet rat for his birthday and no one had given me a heads up. We already lived together and I was soo annoyed. Well, it took me one day to get used to the tail (that was my main problem at first) and another day to understand that rats were actually pretty fun and super clever. By day 3 I was so obsessed and in love with our rat that I couldn't sleep that night, that's how excited I was! I ended up being the one pushing for more rats and we got 4 in the end 😃🥰

The tails were my creep out as well lol. But over time I just became obsessed and when they let me it was my favorite place to pet. It’s almost scaley. Then I saw a squirrel tail and they’re like the exact same but with better fur that acts like pr. 4 honestly sounds so much fun I just wish with all my heart that they lived longer lives

Same, I ended up finding their tail relaxing 😊
4 is great and not so much more work (even though we did connect 2 huge cages and they were work to clean of course). They all had their personality! We got a second one at first and the 1st one became the boss. Then weeks or months later, can't remember, we got 2 more at once... They all "fought" for a few days, to decide who would be the new boss, and one of the younger ones became the boss. The old boss just accepted it, no drama. And the new boss was such a good boss, he kept the peace in the pack 😃
I almost wrote that I wish they lived longer but didn't want to be sad or make you sad. I was heartbroken when they died! Especially that second one that I had chosen myself (he actually chose me at the shop, jumped out of the cage directly on me while I was about to ask to see another one). I seriously sobbed for hours when he died. I've had a dog and many cats in my life... I've never cried for a pet as much as for that rat.
Enjoy your rat 🥰 Every day with them is so precious!

Breaking up withawoman I loved and admired for 23 years. I let her statuesque beauty overpower my common sense. Letting her go was such a relief, knowing full well I loved her but also knowing she wasn't a good person.

stepping into the design world after uni was wild - suddenly all those late nights perfecting typography actually mattered and clients were paying for my work. then having a baby last year completely flipped everything again, now im designing between naps and my minecraft builds have become way more colorful and whimsical since becoming a mum.
