What movie has the most rewatchable scene of all time?

Posted by trakt_app

That one scene you've probably watched more times than the actual movie itself. You look it up on YouTube, you show it to people, you never skip it when it comes on. Could be an action sequence, a monologue, a twist, a single shot, whatever it is you just keep going back to it. What scene is it and what makes it impossible to skip?

"_Cause Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '62. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with a four-barrel carb till '64. However, in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before top-dead-center._"

You just know that the script writers quadruple checked that info, then checked it again to make sure it was correct.

It’s amazing that I think the two best courtroom scenes are this and Jack Nicholson. Very different but both infinitely watchable.

When the T-Rex comes out onto the road, roars, and starts messing with the jeeps. That whole scene still gets my blood pumping all these years later.

Pentax25 Apr 2, 2026 +93
Even before this, I just love the whole build up to the magnificence of the park and how beautiful it is alongside the foreshadowing of the storm coming. To the storm arriving marking a turn in the narrative with the T rex paddock

hearsay_and_rumour Apr 2, 2026 +124
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far down for the mother f****** Tyrannosaurus Rex. There’s almost nothing like it, and it holds up incredibly well for how ambitious it was back then. The ripple in the cup of water, the roar, the eye dilating when Lex shines the flashlight at it. 11/10, I still get giddy watching it.
124
-Affectionate-Echo- Apr 3, 2026 +22
The ripple in the cup. Man that was legit movie magic back in the day. I remember seeing that in commercials and it alone just made me feel I was about to see a real dinosaur. Just being young enough to not think that they can replicate that. I miss that youthful ignorance. The world was a much better place more magical place.

I fly a lot for work and anytime I have about 20-30 min between the movie I was watching and landing I put on the T-Rex attack.

The line "[The Horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time](https://youtu.be/UayQi2tdJTw?t=105)" is basically the peak of the trilogy for me.
145
Forretressqt Apr 2, 2026 +47
Theoden really does have the best scenes/dialogue in the trilogy. I also love the "where is the horse and the rider" dialogue.
47
YoshSchmenge Apr 2, 2026 +57
That low blast coming from the horn via Gimli makes me want to charge into Battle myself. And I look like that old man getting a sword and looking defeated already.

listeningwind42 Apr 3, 2026 +39
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor! Suddenly the king cried to Snowmane and the horse sprang away. Behind him his banner blew in the wind, white horse upon a field of green, but he outpaced it. After him thundered the knights of his house, but he was ever before them. Eomer rode there, the white horsetail on his helm floating in his speed, and the front of the first eored roared like a breaker foaming to the shore, but Theoden could not be overtaken. Fey he seemed, or the battle-fury of his fathers ran like new fire in his veins, and he was borne up on Snowmane like a god of old, even as Orome the Great in the battle of the Valar when the world was young. his golden shield was uncovered, and lo! it shone like an image of the Sun, and the grass flamed into green about the white feet of his steed. For morning came, morning and a wind from the sea; and darkness was removed, and the hosts of Mordor wailed, and terror took them, and they fled, and died, and the hoofs of wrath rode over them. And then all the host of Rohan burst into song, and they sang as they slew, for the joy of battle was on them, and the sound of their singing that was fair and terrible came even to the City

One of the best monologues on film
103
illaqueable Apr 2, 2026 +48
Before that moment in the film, Quint is a pretty standard grizzled fisherman archetype: gruff, profane, quirky, dismissive of anyone less manly than him, prone to violence both physical and verbal--a loner who would rather die a loner than let any man see him let his guard down. He and Hooper getting into a scar-measuring competition immediately preceding the monologue hammers this home, if we hadn't seen it already. As that scene unfolds, you see genuine terror, fear and loss, trauma etched deeply into him that makes him push everyone away; you see sadness, survivor's guilt, shame... embarrassment at his fear, but fear overwhelming. You see his hard façade, built and maintained at great personal cost for decades, crumble away in seconds. It is *beautiful* acting.

tierneyb Apr 2, 2026 +38
My grandfather survived the sinking, just passed away a few years ago. That scene along with his actual retelling is seared into my brain. Incredible monologue.

Robert Shaw, the true legend of cinema.
21
RickSanchez_C137 Apr 3, 2026 +14
I saw this at the cinema a few months back and I couldn't help but think there's no way a modern action/adventure movie today would slam on the brakes just as the tension is ramping up for a 10 minute scene of 3 dudes just getting drunk and talking. But it's exactly what takes Jaws to the next level. Just before the finale, you get a breather to brace for what's coming and remind you exactly who these guys are and what the movie is really about.

The massive battle of elves and men vs orcs and Sauron is incredible
55
franksymptoms Apr 2, 2026 +47
That was Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) narrating it. "The world is changing, I can feel it in the water, I can smell it in the wind." Those words were from later in the book and were spoken by Treebeard IIRC. (It's been a few years since I read the trilogy.)

This is embarrassing to admit, but I've never really understood this scene. It's the reason for the name of the movie, but I still just don't get it. I don't understand the poignancy, or relevancy. I'm generally media literate, but this one has escaped me for decades. The fault is with me, so I'm open to any thoughts on this scene that folks may wanna share.

It’s been a while, and I don’t clearly remember, but I’ll try. As a girl agent Starling’s family had some lambs. Something happened that caused them to die. Their bleating was traumatizing. She wants to save the innocent (lambs) of the world to silence her trauma. I think there’s more to it that is just beyond the reaches of my memory

Oh man, my friend who's a massive SW fan took me to that movie. He was working long days though, as that red sabre lit up, I thought it was a great scene, he must love this. Only to see he fell asleep. I didn't tell him after the movie what he missed, just said he REALLY needed to watch the end again. He sent me a text a couple of days later thanking me for not spoiling it.

Just in terms of how many times it's been parodied and imitated, I think that scene from the first Mission Impossible movie where Tom Cruise dangles on a cord into the server room.

[The train robbery scene in the assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert ford](https://youtu.be/fL0UhU0-Skg?si=EmcLa0u_0fWfR6jW) It’s got this haunting, American gothic painterly quality to it that’s timeless.
