What Movies Do You Just Watch Certain Segments Of?

Posted by hipnotyq

Maybe a weird topic? Do you ever just put on a very specific scene from a movie? I love to put on Apocalypto pretty much right at the part when Jaguar Paw starts to escape and the big chase that takes up the rest of the movie commences. Also enjoy watching Aliens pretty much right when Newt gets taken, Ripley having to go into the hive and rescue her, along with the final showdown in the Sulaco. Avengers Endgame right at the 'On Your Left' moment up to when Tony snaps. Don't get me wrong I love to watch both of these also in their entirety but sometimes I just want to watch a very specific segment. What segments of movies do you like to put on just to watch for 5-10 mins (or maybe half the movie onward, etc)

The Matrix lobby shooting spree, because it was a fantastic way to demo surround sound systems back in the day.

That and the rooftop standoff with the agent. Jurassic Park when the Trex escapes is another great one.

In our early 20's, my friend and I would get high and watch the final court room scene from A Few Good Men.

I only ever watch the pool scene of Wild Things. I know nothing about the characters or their story

Missing out on that motel scene. Rewatched the movie recently because I wasn’t aware it had a plot. Pretty decent.

There’s a guy in that scene isn’t there?

I don’t think so… can’t remember one.

Lord of the Rings, you name the scene

There’s not a single scene that a film professor couldn’t turn into a course in itself

I'm assuming you meant *rewatch* certain scenes of A few random ones that come to mind: Shawshank Redemption - The roof scene Forrest Gump - Forrest telling an ailing Jenny about his adventures Saving Private Ryan - The beach landing

Yeah, I thought OP meant sections of movies you like and then you skip the rest. I was gonna say "the first 1/3rd of Nightmare Before Christmas and then I turn it off after 'What's This?'" because the rest of the movie isn't as fun to me.

I go back to the final scene of Midsommar immediately following Christian’s selection for sacrifice. I love the score and I absolutely adore the very end where Dani genuinely smiles for the first time.

The first half of Lone Survivor. Full Metal Jacket I normally watch haft at a time, but both halves are great though.

I don’t. The closest I’ve done is Google search a particular scene, or try to find it on YouTube. Examples have been…I was gonna list a couple but I got lazy 😞 EDIT: Some came to mind… * Thanos “grabbing” a moon and slinging it towards Earth. * Joker slamming a persons head onto a pencil. * Inside Out when that elephant looking thing sacrificed itself so they can make it across on his buggy thing 😭 * Al Pacino scene in Devils Advocate * Al Pacino speech in Any Given Sunday * Woody Harrelson in The People Vs Larry Flynt when he found his wife in the tub 😭 * Many emotional scenes. * Some episode in the show Louis CK with actress Parker Posey, excellent performance. They were on a rooftop, the urge to jump came up. There’s actually many, I didn’t notice I did this as much as I did. Thanks for asking.

The ballroom dances from the Cinderella movie with Brandy. I loved the costumes and the waltzes. I used to have those 15 minutes saved on my DVR for years and would pull it up whenever I needed a boost.

My two are both from the Star Wars universe, the Battle of Yavin 4 in the original and the Battle of Scarif in Rogue One, especially Vader's boarding scene.

Occasionally I’ll watch the opera siege from *Tenet* when I need to get hyped for something.

The final battle from Avengers: Endgame. I can't stand the rest of the movie, but that battle? So good.

I often rewatch Fury Road from the moment Furiosa leaves the citadel until the end of the storm.

I've only ever seen the car chase from Bullett. I own the movie on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray, and I ripped it to my server. I should watch it one day. 🤔

The car chase scene in *The French Connection* hits the same.

I watched the entirety of Coming To America 2, but my nephew had the right idea: just watch the barbershop scene.

I’ll put on Pulp Fiction and just skip to all the Samuel L. Jackson scenes. Great movie but to me he stole the show.

Quite a few but mostly short scenes I can browse with one hand. ... Oh you meant main stream movies? Actually yeah, not specific ones, just as the mood takes me I'll watch just one scene or maybe a couple.

From time to time I watch the ending of Dune: Part Two on YouTube. "Lead them to paradise." Idk, I get chills every time

In Silent Hill (2006) when Rose finally wakes up in Silent Hill and is looking for Alessa/Sharon. The movie has a lot of problems but this part is a fantastic remake of the sequence from the first game. Absolutely nailed the atmosphere, music, and vibe of Silent Hill.
