What social situations make your brain completely blank out?

Posted by ClaraGran

I have noticed that in certain situations like being introduced to someone or being asked simple questions my mind just goes blank.... It's not that I don't know... It just disappear in that moment... Why does this happen and is there a way to about it? It happens only with me or you also facing same?

it’s always when it matters just a little too much…like suddenly my brain decides to disappear and leave me alone there 😅 funny thing is, hours later I think of the perfect answer… just never on time (qué rabia)

I find that sometimes my brain works quicker than my mouth and then all of a sudden I’ve mumbled, they say “what” and I say “never mind”

The second someone says "tell us a fun fact about yourself" my mind becomes an abandoned parking lot.

too many people at once freak me out. If it's a group hangout of 5 or more, I will wish I left early.

Pretty much all of them. I'm not very good at being social IRL.

Oh, that happens to me a lot. For example, if someone asks simple questions, I might freeze because I'll think there's some kind of catch.

This happens to me when I'm at the doctor/dentist, checking in. I have 3 kids. If we're there for one of them, I go comatose when they ask me "Name? DOB?" Obviously I KNOW these answers, but it takes me a second to remember which kid I'm there for and what the hell their DOB is! I just stare blankly and mentally run through my kids info like I'm thumbing through a file cabinet in my head. And if I have more than one that has an appointment at the same time, oh FFS forget it! I almost panic. It's so weird.

This is so real, I'm so bad at socializing, I think it's the homeschooler in me.

It’s not lack of knowledge — it’s pressure.

mine does that when someone asks me something simple out of nowhere, like my brain just logs out for a sec. it’s worse when i’m tired or already a bit overwhelmed. i usually just laugh it off and give myself a second, it comes back but yeah it’s kinda annoying.
