What's a TV show that really stuck with you for whatever reason?
For me it's 'this is going to hurt', a British medical drama with Ben whishaw and ambika mod.
I went into it without really looking what it was about and thought It was just a hospital drama. It's actually based in a maternity ward and I was taking time off work after losing a pregnancy at five months along.
Right at the beginning a lady gives birth to a baby around the gestation as mine and it felt like fate that I had chosen it to watch.
I balled the whole way through but it was so good I couldn't stop watching. Now it has a special place in my heart.
Battlestar Galactica. It was my first major exposure to the sweeping themes about the human condition, politics and control, liberty versus security, religion and spirituality being explored in such an open way, tragedy and self-sabotage, and the human condition.

Mr. Robot.
I've seen a lot of amazing tv, but Mr. Robot *changed me as a person.*
That just makes me sound like a psycho fangirl for the first 3 1/2 seasons of the show, but IYKYK.
The show did more for me than 20 years in the church and half of that in therapy ever did for my relationship with my own trauma. Rooting for Elliot taught me to root for myself. His story reflected my own back to me in a powerful but accessible way, and allowed me to handle my shit in a way I hadn't been able to do before.
I will forever be grateful to Sam Esmail, Rami Malek, Christian Slater, and everyone who worked on that show for the care and dignity with which they treated some extremely sensitive, personal topics.

Emergency. Was not able to pursue the medical aspect in my life (needles and insides don’t sit well with me). However, the nationwide impact the show had on creating / expanding paramedics was inspirational.

Halt and Catch Fire, specifically season 4, episode 7. The show from start to finish was incredible, but that particular episode was gut wrenching. Really stuck with me.

Babylon 5. It opened my eyes to what TV and storytelling can really be. We're long past those days though it seems.

I used to watch *Touched by an Angel* every single Sunday with my Mom growing up. It was just our thing… kind of quiet, but it stuck. A cuppa tea a cookie, curled up in her bed.
She’s gone now, and I can’t watch it the same way anymore. But, in a strange way, it feels closer to her than anything else.🤍

Reservation Dogs
It's such a small stakes story with they're that people can easily relate to whether you're indigenous or not.
It's really funny and also extremely moving, often in the same episode.
The Deer Lady episode wrecked me completely.
It's an amazing show everyone should see.

Hung (HBO Max). I really like the friendship between the two main characters. I often felt the way they've felt on more than one occasion (not sexual stuff), like when it came to the economy.

ALF. I'd never tried eating cats until then. It's a game changer.

Rick and Morty. I know how awful the fan base is, but being in love with Sci-Fi for about three decades now, and having consumed so much of it, this show has been amazing. It's like they took all those silly conversations about what if they did a weird and stupid thing or another in a sci-fi story, and brought them all to life. Also I like how it feels angry and mocking towards some tropes and cliches.
Now, apart from that. Why is this post downvoted? I feel like you rarely see genuine and heartfelt posts on this sub, and it seems when they do happen, they get downvoted.
