What were the last words someone said to you that still linger in your mind, long after they were gone?

“Don’t forget to be kind to yourself” , they said it in passing, but it’s stuck with me through everything, like a tiny lifeline I keep coming back to.

My aunt hit her head really hard one time during the pandemic and was bleeding badly. She was sent back here even though it was an emergency since my sister who joined her couldn't afford the COVID test needed at the time (she was rushing). She was already facing sideways, but she keeps on asking us to turn her sideways, and I just... had the chills. Remembering it now, it was a lot, too.

i hope you're happy had a messy relationship early in college, we were clearly going in different directions, and she was struggling with mental health issues that i really couldn't help with, though i really tried. we eventually broke up. i was stupid, took a long time to process it and move on. ended up running into each other on campus like a year later, talked for a bit, and she kind of dropped "i hope you're happy" at the end. i know she really meant it, and i still think about it a lot

My bully in high school was beating me senseless. The last words I remembered was, "How do it feel?" I woke in an ambulance. He was expelled. Never saw him again.

A 22 year old who was in a horrific accident with 3 other kids i was first medic on scene and had to worm my way into the car after pulling the front seat deceased passenger out I got in checked for life with the other 2 there was none driver was messed up bad I stabilized him while the firefighters done there job and cut him a path to get out. As we got him on the backboard he looked at me and made me promise to tell his mom he loved her. I did promise and one hour later told his mom at the hospital. Her son coded 2 minutes before the helicopter landed and there was nothing that could be done they spent 1 hour in the trauma room they cracked his chest and called the code after seeing the tear in the aorta. Yeah I've got a lot of horrific memories but it has given me a different perspective of things
