Subway. As in the sandwich store chain. I don't know what it is, but their stores smell weird

Exciting-Pie4985 Apr 3, 2026 +4
That's how i feel about 7-eleven! They smell so bad!

simple-blu Apr 3, 2026 +5
I get what you mean omg!! Everytime someone gets a subway or I go in there, never smells good. I don’t like their sandwiches

We have a Jimmy John's right next door in the plaza at my job and everyone raves about how good it smells in my store because of it. Most days it just makes me nauseated when I come in because I think it smells gross

quantumcatz Apr 3, 2026 +3
It's like a combination of their weird bread and cleaning products
3
Familiar_Crow_ Apr 3, 2026 +1
It's deffo the weird bread I think. There used to be a late night subway near the clubs in the city I grew up in, so drunk subway munchies at 3am was the norm. Unfortunately subway smells/tastes exactly the same even when you throw it up hours later. I don't know what preservatives or chemicals they use but they are persistent and apparently immune to stomach acid

Lavender is evil.

Lady_Sybil_Vimes Apr 3, 2026 +1
I like the smell of lavender but my husband is anaphylactic to it so no lavender in our household! It's surprisingly annoying to avoid, people put lavender in everything.

Vanilla scented things

Particular_Aside_226 Apr 3, 2026 +5
Bro vanilla is so overrated 💀 I collect fragrances and vanilla notes just smell like c**** candles to me now, gimme something with more character like tobacco or leather instead 🔥
5
simple-blu Apr 3, 2026 +2
I get what you mean but I have a perfume with other notes in it too- body mists? Yeah smells c****. But the perfume is actually unique
2
Lower_Palpitation_82 Apr 3, 2026 +2
I read that as ‘vanilla scented thongs’ and I was thinking yeah… you don’t want them smelling of vanilla, but how did they get to smell like that. A whole little mind maze over a misread word… thank you!

hairybaals Apr 3, 2026 +1
SAME- maybe a clean shower type vanilla. but this certain genre of sweet smelling vanilla, like the type that’s in sol de janeiro 40 makes me feel ill it’s so gross
1
simple-blu Apr 3, 2026 +1
I love vanilla but I smelt sol de janeiro before and omg it stinks. I wear a powdery vanilla scent
1
hairybaals Apr 3, 2026 +1
donna karan is very nice, smells pretty powdery and clean, don’t know if it counts as vanilla but give it a try
1
simple-blu Apr 3, 2026 +1
haha you’d hate me then. I have vanilla body mists and perfumes xd
1
Infamous_Yoghurt Apr 3, 2026 +7
Coconut. Makes me want to hurl every time, especially if it's a skin care product.

I loathe it!
2

Ugh coconut is awful. I hate everything about it: the smell, the taste, the texture, everything. It's all awful.

Reminds me of my dad, he’s a mechanic.
1
CaptainFartHole Apr 3, 2026 +1
I f****** love that smell. My three favorite smells are gasoline,  mothballs, and hardware stores. I might like the smell of chemicals.
1
Additional-Till-6326 Apr 3, 2026 +8
Strong scented perfumes, I get a severe headache

Freshly ground coffee. Everyone’s like heaven in a cup, meanwhile I’m over here thinking it smells like burnt popcorn.

Fresh cut grass
2
sugar34plum Apr 3, 2026 +2
Patchouli
2
NoneOfYoBidness Apr 3, 2026 +2
Fresh cut grass. The smell gives me an instant headache. But seeing how I get insanely itchy if any part of me touches grass, except my feet for some reason, I think it's safe to assume I'm allergic to it.
2
EchoOfOppenheimer Apr 3, 2026 +2
Bananas. I really don't know why, the smell just completely grosses me out.
2
simple-blu Apr 3, 2026 +1
You’d be great friends with my partner, and probably myself. I’ve gone off the smell. He would grip a wall in disgust trying not to puke
1
Sky-Dragonfly-1229 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Lavender
2
yougavememagical Apr 3, 2026 +2
I hate cinnamon scented things like Christmas candles. Maybe ptsd from my days working in Yankee Candle at 19 but I cannot stand it
2
dirtysecretsofmine Apr 3, 2026 +1
Fresh cut grass.
1
Extraordi-Mary Apr 3, 2026 +3
The smell of outside on people who have just walked in. It’s even worse when it’s windy outside.
3
GrapeFrothiness Apr 3, 2026 +2
I do not like the smell after it rains.

Ultrabananna Apr 3, 2026 +3

Savings-Engineer-885 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Lavender for sure. Everyone treats it like the ultimate stress-reliever but to me it just smells like industrial bathroom cleaner.
1
tushy03 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Any sweet smell. Just makes me wanna puke
1
Tall_Stick5608 Apr 3, 2026 +1

Absolutely. especially dog
1
malemember87 Apr 3, 2026 +1
There's a fudge shop I hate the smell of, but everyone I know seems to like the smell.
1
autistic_insomniac5 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Pumpkin spice.
1
kirradoodle Apr 3, 2026 +2
Pine-sol cleaner. People say they know that their house is clean because it smells like the "fresh pine" in Pine-sol. I hate it - it doesn't smell like pine, it smells like chemicals.

No-Jicama-3673 Apr 3, 2026 +1

Most perfumes.
2
Bento_Fox Apr 3, 2026 +1
Lavender scented stuff. I like the smell of actual lavender either in fresh or dried form but not lavender scented products like skincare, incense, candles, etc.

That's not a smell that everyone loves
1
RipAgile1088 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Gaelic.  Love the taste in the right portions but the smell of that and sour onions is repulsive to me.
1
ByunghoGrapes Apr 3, 2026 +1
Tobacco or any cigarette in general. Grew up with nearly my entire household smoking, still do, and I absolutely still find the scent insufferable. I'm not complaining, it sure as hell keeps me from being a smoker.
1
yougavememagical Apr 3, 2026 +1
I wouldn't say everyone loves that
1
SmirkNtwerk Apr 3, 2026 +1
The engulfing smell of roses. As much as I love them, having an entire room filled with them is really overwhelming. I used to be a stage performer and I’d have change rooms filled with them by the end of shows. Too much of a good thing is real! Hehe Not complaining but they can induce migraines of which I used to suffer from in my 20’s and 30’s.
1
InadmissibleHug Apr 3, 2026 +1
Fuckin lavender. Smells like Satan’s farts
1
GreenyH Apr 3, 2026 +1
COCONUT. F****** coconut shampoos and creams and perfumes and scent sprays and pastries and it's f****** nauseating

Ubertev Apr 3, 2026 +1
Napalm in the morning. Yuck
1
PowerSpool Apr 3, 2026 +1
Bath and body works. I refuse to believe any human is meant to have that many fragrances pimp smacked into their nostrils at once. That shit ain't even a smell that just chemical warfare.
1
Jane_Austen11 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Gasoline

Match stick initial burn smell.
1
BonbonMacoute Apr 3, 2026 +1
Sulphur, but I don't believe it's loved by many. It's "hellish".
1
MarioLei87 Apr 3, 2026
Chocolate mint. 🤮
0
socialwreck101 Apr 3, 2026 +1
You take that back 😭
1
simple-blu Apr 3, 2026
Honestly I don’t blame you, I’ve always gotten accustomed to mint as being toothpaste
0
MarioLei87 Apr 3, 2026 +1
There’s a few smells that make me nauseous. Thin mints/andes for example is definitely one of them.
