Loud men who use the volume to add credibility to their statement and to sound smart has always been so unattractive to me.

People talk loud when they wanna act smart, right? CORRECT!

the way someone laughs. genuine, open laughter is so magnetic, but i rarely tell people that, it sounds like an unusual compliment

Redline_inbound Apr 2, 2026 +53
My fav way to say this is that someone is “radiant”. I think they usually get the vibe and are incredibly flattered
53
BOSSMOPS94 Apr 3, 2026 +17
I sound like an asthmatic donkey when im laughing. My bf always says that my laugh is contagious so I'm really glad he likes it 😄 You should tell people that you like their laughs 🙂

finnanigans Apr 3, 2026 +33
Nooooo! Tell people! Granted it was a compliment from my husband, but one time I was laughing at something stupid on my phone while he was chatting via his gaming headset and he just said "(My name) has the most beautiful laugh." I have never been so genuinely touched by a compliment.
33
HopesAndKisses Apr 3, 2026 +6
Tell them, that's such a beautiful compliment and I'm sure they'll remember for ever c: I like people that have an infectious laughter, it's makes everything like 10x more fun <3

I get pissy looks for laughing in my normal way. I don't even think about it until I start getting the Karen stinkeye.

Same. A startling amount of very physically attractive people sound like they just learned to speak this morning.

Elle12881 Apr 3, 2026 +18
A huge thing for me is when people use "Don't" in place of "Doesn't." They might as well grow an eyeball in the middle of their forehead as far as attractiveness goes.

More better Me and her verb Between you and I “Shudder” One time I was at a museum and I told one of the workers that the grammar on a sign was wrong. It was environmental and for kids and it said “that makes my friends and I really sad.” Surprisingly she acknowledged it and said she would bring it up with her supervisor.

Same, I met my fiancée online. We talked in voice chat often, and oh god, his voice still fills me with butterflies every day. He has a soft accent with rolled Rs and throaty Gs, his tone is deep but always gentle, and I can hear it when he's smiling, even if he's trying to hold it back. A word from him and I'm weak at the knees.

laney2181 Apr 2, 2026 +21
YESSSS - my husband’s accent is almost undetectable most of the time, but when he gets really enthusiastic about something his Brooklyn accent comes out and combined with his voice it’s like his third sexiest feature- and the other 2 are his arm muscles and his chest hair.
21
sanslumiere Apr 3, 2026 +8
I also married someone with a New York accent and I love it. I know a lot of people find it grating, but I find it so brusquely charming.

merpixieblossomxo Apr 3, 2026 +6
I fell in love with my partner's voice before I fell in love with him, and then when we had our daughter I fell in love with her voice, too.

I get the ick when a guy uses the wrong your/you’re. But I’m a sucker for smart guys, so it makes sense.

Long hair on a man will melt me every time. Every time. Crow’s feet on women are divine. Means they’ve spent a lot of time smiling with their eyes. Finding contentment in small things, the capacity for gratitude, makes me wet. Grey hair on any human, love me a healthy dash of salt and pepper. Clean, elegant hands on any human, just beautiful. Surprise and gratitude during sex, realizing we’re lucky when we’re given the gift of the body of another person. That’s always so precious to me. Stretch marks and scars on any human. Means you’re real and have lived. Soooo hot. So hot. When I compliment you and you can actually receive it. Show me that solid self-esteem baby, let’s go. Responsiveness in basically all forms. Sexually, physically, textually, etc.

TapStatus903 Apr 3, 2026 +49
>Crow’s feet on women are divine. Means they’ve spent a lot of time smiling with their eyes. Crows feet are like dimples but for the eyes. When someone smiles and their eyes crease at the corner, it brings out so much joy in their expression. It's pretty.

PolyThrowaway524 Apr 2, 2026 +172
I had a devil of a time dating when I was living in New Jersey because I just can't stand the accent, but it's not like you can tell someone "hey you check all the boxes, but your voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard."

jokebreath Apr 2, 2026 +53
I'm from the US but live in Quebec now. It's funny to me how so many Americans think of a French accent as cute/s***/sophisticated and conflate the Quebecer accent with the French. Then you live here and it's all "OUAIS! Y fais frette en tabarnak, caaaaliiissse" and it's just...the opposite of a s*** accent. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but not quite in the way most Americans think.
53
CuileannDhu Apr 2, 2026 +27
A Quebecois accent sounds really harsh compared to a Parisian French accent.
27
Flashy_Gap_3015 Apr 2, 2026 +9
I grew up in Ontario and my exposure to and interactions with some of the most stunning women I have seen in my life in Montreal, Hull Gatineau, and Quebec City have made me a sucker for that accent, myself.
9
OneGayPigeon Apr 2, 2026 +9
LMAO yeah, my partner has a Thing for French+French accents… I lived about as far north as you can get in Vermont for a while, visited Montreal frequently… sorry, maybe it was nice on the ears to me once and I just associate it with people who assume I don’t speak French, or rather, as it often seems, want to give the impression of trying to be subtle, talking shit about me but No Thanks. Not as much of a dealbreaker as New England accents, but it would be a challenge in the early stages lol.
9
diealogues Apr 2, 2026 +7

I had the same issue while living on Long Island. And I grew up there. It was really weird... all the girls I knew, who spoke normally, suddenly all started channeling the future ghost of Fran Drescher's Nanny. It was weird as f***. I just couldn't take any woman that spoke that way seriously (and it should be noted that Fran Drescher does not sound like that in real life). Also, though I spent only a very brief time in the Boston area, I found that the Boston Southie accent from a woman is the most effective man-repellent in human history. Holy f***.... I'd rather be deaf than have to listen to that godawful, unholy auditory abortion coming from the mouth of my SO.
47
DukeofVermont Apr 3, 2026 +3
I lived in NYC and knew some people from Long Island. They were great, I hate the accent. None of them were too bad, but full long Island is by far my least favorite accent on the planet.
3
OneGayPigeon Apr 2, 2026 +6
God, same with Boston. Very, very few accents that put me off, but New England ones are… unfortunate.
6
CouplePrestigious775 Apr 2, 2026 +7
For me, it’s the Philly/southeastern PA accent. I can’t stand it. In the show Mare of Eastown, the male detective had a super strong accent like that and I disliked it so much.

The most unattractive feature is when you're having a conversation with someone and instead of responding to what was said, they just wait their turn (or worse, interrupt!) to just say their unrelated piece without acknowledging the previous statement. At that point, what is even the point of conversing? Its so one sided and lacking dimension

How someone treats silence. Some people get uncomfortable and fill it with noise, others can sit in it naturally… and that says a lot
121
TheTopNacho Apr 2, 2026 +16
Curious. What do you think it says?
16

15
ValleyFair0600 Apr 2, 2026 +28
An extroverted mind that also avoids introspection because they are avoiding some sort of discomfort that comes with their thoughts and/or boredom.
28
Generic_Garak Apr 2, 2026 +9
I am an extrovert with adhd and it took a long time for me to get better at sitting in silence. For me it has nothing to do with avoiding my thoughts or boredom that causes me to talk to fill silences, but more like the hum of hyperactivity. Similar to the impulse that causes leg jiggling or fidgeting. Over time I’ve gotten better at redirecting that energy so that I can be more comfortable in silence. It’s fine if that’s not the kind of thing that makes you feel at peace or even that you want around you, but let’s not make assumptions about what’s happening in peoples minds.
9
Lexellence Apr 3, 2026 +3
Yeah, I come from a family of companionable chit chatters (all w raging adhd). It feels loving and friendly to me. My husband is Northern European though, and looooooves silence. Drives him crazy 🤣
3
nekofiore Apr 3, 2026 +5
This but with tact, there are times to be silent and times where it would be awkward to be in silence. Some people can be too comfortable with silence and use it as a shield in social situations and it can come off as very anti-social imo. But to be fair, I would much rather be in the same room with someone who is comfortable in silence versus someone who isn’t.

I find shoulder freckles insanely attractive for some reason.
9
Simple-Yak4728 Apr 2, 2026 +12
I love freckles too. But I especially think freckles are even more beautiful on darker skinned individuals. It's just super striking to me. I think pale people with freckles are pretty too. Just not as gorgeous as those with darker skin. And I say this as someone who is as pale as paper🤣

22
aggibridges Apr 3, 2026 +6
I’m exactly the same, but I’m bi so this applies to all genders for me as well. I don’t even think they’re jerks, it’s just boring to me and I can’t be attracted to boring people. I don’t care how ‘ugly’ the person is, if they have an interesting way of expressing themselves in clothes or music or whatever, I find it immensely attractive.

A nice round soft belly. I don't usually mention it because people are so insecure about that area.
75
Pussy4LunchDick4Dins Apr 2, 2026 +58
I was at the beach once and these two African guys were trying to catch my eye so I waved and they asked me to come over. They apologized for staring but told me I was one of the most beautiful women they’d ever seen. I thanked them but told them I was married, but I was very flattered (they were hot af as well). They told me that where they were from in Africa, I had a perfect body, with a nice big round belly. I was so bewildered I just laughed but I definitely felt a little self conscious that day. It was a lot of confusing feels lol
58
East-Plum-7791 Apr 2, 2026 +41
Friend of mine did fieldwork in Africa. She's very blond and a bit fluffy by American standards, and would have gentlemen proposing marriage on a regular basis.
41
Pussy4LunchDick4Dins Apr 2, 2026 +36

shinygoldhelmet Apr 3, 2026 +21
I like big boys. And I don't just mean tall, I mean *hefty*. Not pure muscle, but the retired powerlifter who likes a pizza and could still throw me over his shoulder physique. I may be short, but I'm strong myself and don't want to outweigh a man unless he can bench my body weight. But guys who are ripped like for bodybuilding competitions is not attractive, I want some padding over the muscle. Better to snuggle with.

I really like it when guys have dirty jeans. Not like a bunch of food stains or covered in poo or something, but stains from dirt or oil that don't come out in the wash. I don't say it cause 1) I'm married and 2) it would be odd to compliment someone on their stained jeans 🤣
117
Full-Strain-7233 Apr 2, 2026 +14
Its not that weird though I dont think. I was a carpenter and concrete worker for 10 years. I couldnt tell you the amount of times I caught women staring at me and not in a disgusted way after work, or just out in my work clothes on a lazy day. My partner also wouldnt say it to anyone but ive definitely caught her looking at other blue collar dudes with dirty clothes on 😂

I prefer silence. I don’t like unnecessary conversations. I can talk to others and be polite. But someone talking to hear themselves talk or because they feel awkward with silence is no fun. If they need someone to talk to then call someone.
27
Mysterious-Sugar-242 Apr 2, 2026 +3
So do you actually prefer being alone, or being with someone in silence, or only having serious or meaningful conversations? I personally prefer to be alone altogether. If I’m with other people I feel anxious and pressure to talk and put on a certain persona. I really don’t enjoy conversations or socializing.

Fredathons Apr 2, 2026 +73
Crooked teeth hit different, society's just mad jealous of the vibe
73
Simple-Yak4728 Apr 2, 2026 +16
I don't have crooked teeth but do have a big space between my two front teeth. I hate it.
16
le4t Apr 2, 2026 +19
I love big gaps in teeth. Perfect teeth are boring. Once upon a time, a big gap in front teeth was said to denote lasciviousness--or at least that's what a gap-toothed friend told me.  Some more historical positive takes: https://wisdomofthespirit.com/the-spiritual-meaning-of-gap-teeth/

Chest hair, idk why dudes shave it, so sad.
74
CrazyCaterpillar7652 Apr 2, 2026 +16
I shave my back and shoulder patches if going, to say, the beach or water park. I do not shave the chest hair. Lol I figure chest hair is acceptable.. NOBODY wants to look at back and shoulder hair. Or at least I don't. So I take that consideration onto others. 🤣
16
brielzebub665 Apr 3, 2026 +10
I honestly personally love just hairy men. I know there are others like me as well!!
10
CrazyCaterpillar7652 Apr 3, 2026 +10
My latest ex had never been with a hairy man before, she said she wasn't used to it. However she would lay on my chest running her hands through it after a while. Lol The only person I ever met that "loved" it was my old roommate who was a chill stoner from Florida who happened to be gay and "Looooved bears". Lol he hit on me a few times before I made it clear that I was not into dudes.
10
reallynoladarling Apr 3, 2026 +8
i don't mind. I'd probably draw the line at ear hair.
8

Have that too! Lol that's a good weekly trim probably, biweekly plucking for those dark stubborn bastards.
4
Enigpragmatic Apr 3, 2026 +9
Yessss! I love a good patch of chest fuzzies! No body hair means nothing to run my fingers through and that makes me sad.
9
KindaPale Apr 3, 2026 +7
And they usually have arm and leg hair to match the chest hair. Such a turn on.
7
Own-Progress-4863 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Omg i love all of body hair no matter of the gender. but it can be sensitive topic so i just keep quiet most of the time. like do people wanna hear "omg you have such hairy legs/arms/chest/whatever i love it" or are they gonna be insecure i pointed it out? :( but now since we are asked.. yes it's huge turn on and shaving is huge turn off, especially around genitals. i just dont care for barbie and ken dolls ok.

Love this. How can one tell just from looking how pendulous a pair of breasts might be? Teach me your ways.
7
pm_ur_pendulousboobs Apr 3, 2026 +9
Some indirect indicators, when she's clothed Lower breast position on the torso: the fullest part of the breast may appear lower. Downward contour: her silhouette may slope downward rather than projecting forward. Movement patterns: with motion, there may be more noticeable movement Clothing fit: tops may drape or fold differently at the chest.

I love dorky and weak, below average height normal build guys. I didn't realise this until I found myself drooling over Josh Hutcherson in Future Man, Skyler Gisondo in Santa Clarita Diet and Elijah Wood in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. There's just some incredibly hot about that type of guy that makes me want to take care of them in every possible way.

Sadly, these types of guys are unicorns in the real world. They're hiding in their dungeons afraid to talk to people thinking no one would be interested, but they're the ideal for a lot of women and men out there. I'm afraid to burst your bubble my guy, but I'm also a guy, so I don't think you'd be able to handle a proposal from me. 😂 I frigging loved Future Man, another awesome series is Preacher, absolute chaos, but no hot dorky guys in that one unfortunately.

No idea why I've always found it strangely s*** when a woman has a noticeable gap in the front of her teeth

My friends tell me im attracted to people who are "weird looking". I say I like people with "interesting faces". I have prosopagnosia (Im faceblind), so anything asymmetrical or "unusual" is really appealing to me, because it means I can identify that person more easily.

Deeper, more resonant voices on women is so attractive. I hear a contralto talking or singing and I genuinely want to just listen forever. More generally I find broad shoulders and well-developed muscles on women to be attractive, and more delicately built and featured men attractive. I think my wired got crossed.

Love when people talk to themselves. It’s like, what’s going on in there? So endearing
31
bosquerio Apr 2, 2026 +18
And people who can spend time alone. In fact people who enjoy their alone time and off their phone. People who have a relationship with their environment

for me head shape. not a deal breaker but the right (or wrong) shape affects my attraction to a person. secondarily posture but i think thats common

How does one divine the shape of a head if it’s covered in hair?

I like moles. My husband has a bunch all over and he looks like a tall dalmatian. He's adorable.

When a woman’s face lights up due to extreme genuine heppiness or excitement. That moment when she loses control of any ‘self’ she is presenting to the world and is simply enveloped in raw elation.

whimsy if i give a guy a smooth rock I think is cool and he's not interested or doesnt feign interest then we're not meant to be

I always notice a man’s hands. I don’t know why but nice hands really do it for me.
8
Cakes2611 Apr 2, 2026 +21
I like when men have manly looking hands lol. For me personally it's a turn off when a guy has smooth hands because it means he doesn't work with them. If a guy has trimmed nails but they're also rough looking with some callus.. 👍

dirtyhippie62 Apr 2, 2026 +14
I’m the opposite, I like a man with big, clean hands. Elegant hands wreck me.

Long nails that are unkempt. I don't care who you are, if you have longer fingernails that are not that way because they're manicured, it's super gross to me. It just makes me wonder what other grooming habits you neglect.

Deep voice is irresistibly attractive to me.

capt_ghostlyy Apr 2, 2026 +11
Not sure how common or uncommon this is now, but I am an absolute sucker for tattoos. What I find specifically attractive is tattoos that tell a story about the person's life or experiences that made them into who they are today.

Mine is my sister’s name, she passed away 10 years ago. People are like “is that your wife or daughter?” When they find out what it really is, they really warm to it.

I find men who can command a room without a single word highly attractive I like observant men with a little bit of that aloof quality and also quiet confidence

I am repulsed by men’s cologne if I don’t find the man wearing it attractive 😅. It literally turns my stomach . Im sorry I can’t help it . If he’s attractive then the cologne really enhances the attraction.

I cant handle when someone's nose points up like Amy Adams or Kevin Bacon. I have no idea why.

Guys that low key take pride in their appearance. Not just basic hygiene, and not as far as always dressed up, but actual care routine. And when bald guys decide they’d rather have hair, and get implants or a toupee. Bravo bro, you’re worth feeling your best.
10
Moss_Green_No21 Apr 2, 2026 +12
Attractive: natural crazy curly hair. Some peoples dark circles around their eyes. Freckles, (some) crooked teeth, big slender hands with marks from which you can tell they work a lot, dark scratchy voices (like from smokers), red hair :) Unattractive: how some people are extra mistrusting when receiving a compliment from a pretty woman or double checking anything she says. Also some people live by a victim fantasy narrative which you can tell by their face and body language before they even say anything...

Small birthmarks on women's bellies. I really dig that but I would never really mention it aside from over here because you asked.

PowerNinja5000 Apr 3, 2026 +3
I guess it'd unusual only because I can't really describe it but I like women who have interesting mouths. An example could be Alicia Silverstone and how her mouth kind of goes sideways.

Phimosis. I know they can’t control it but it looks so painful and uncanny.

I’ve always preferred a man in Carhartts over a man wearing Italian loafers. I couldn’t care less if they have fashion sense. Hard workers who can do more than one specialized task.

my_little_mutation Apr 2, 2026 +2
Scars. Especially scars from injuries. I don't know why but if someone is scarred up or maybe even had a slightly fucked up face from injuries I find that really attractive. Something about the imperfection, the stories they tell, the quiet display of strength or what haha. But it feels really inappropriate to say when a lot of people probably feel bad about them, wouldn't want them pointed out etc. Plus, you know, "hey you almost got mangled by a piece of machinery? Hot" just feels.. Very lacking in empathy. Also face tattoos
