Restoring antique fountain pens. There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a rusted, 80-year-old piece of engineering and making it write perfectly again. It’s a very solitary, meditative hobby.

Collecting bisque and porcelain dolls. Most people are creeped out by them. That's part of the charm, for me.

Being consistent with something for years without quitting… sounds simple but it’s actually rare.

i'd say amateur radio is pretty rare these days. not a lot of people get into it, but there’s something cool about connecting with folks around the world using just your voice.

The shear number of things you can do with amateur radio, chat with astronauts, bounce signals off meteors and the moon, run a communications net with domestic and international operators, or just have a long lazy conversation with a stranger on the other side of the world, the possibilities are endless!

Modifying Barbie/Ken style dolls to make custom versions of friends and celebrities.
Open source intelligence just for fun - seeing what I can dig up just with search engines.
Complex jewelry making, wire wrapping.
Bio hacking (not my hobby, but a friend got magnets implanted in his fingertips).
I'm also learning how to use a tattoo machine but I'm not good enough to practice on anyone but myself yet\~!

I'd also like to point you to the Heritage Crafts list of endangered crafts! These are crafts that don't have new people picking them up in the UK. I'm considering trying a couple of these myself.
