Living 'off the grid' in a remote cabin. People imagine reading by candlelight and sipping tea. They don't imagine the 4:00 AM wake-ups because the wood stove went out, the constant battle against mold, the lack of high-speed internet, and the fact that 'peace and quiet' quickly turns into 'I haven't seen another human in three weeks

Living with roommates, especially the whole "besties living together" fantasy. Did it twice and both times ended up being a nightmare of dirty dishes, passive agressive notes, and finding out your friend is actually a slob who never replaces the toilet paper. Way better to keep friendships seperate from living situations imo

Taking care of livestock. Because before you know it, you're in your pjs and boots chasing the steer down the road. In the middle of the night, in the rain.

Arranged marriages. Looks beautiful from the outside. From the inside it's two strangers trying to build love while everyone around them is already planning the baby shower.

Mumbai local! I have seen alot of people romanticize the crowd, the nature of how fast the city works and all of it but travelling by it in the peak hours is when you realize its not as fun as it seems
