What’s something society accepts that will be considered barbaric in 100 years?

The current healthcare system of the United States. Only the rich can pay for treatments while the rest suffer.

Factory farming. We'll look at it the same way we look at slavery in the 1800s.

Maybe certain aspects of the meat industry. It’s possible in 100 years at least more developed countries will have much higher standards on how they treat cows, chickens, pigs etc.

Chemotherapy. In 100 years, we’ll look back at chemo the same way we look at bloodletting or using leeches today. 'You mean you just pumped the entire body full of poison and hoped the cancer died before the patient did?' Once we have hyper-targeted nanobots or refined gene editing, the 'nuke the whole body' approach will seem incredibly primitive and cruel.

Nuclear powers bombing children in tents for their ethnicity? Doubt it though.

Religious privilege, or hopefully, religion as a justification for behavior.

Probably how normal extreme overwork is. People destroying their health, barely sleeping, and living stressed just to keep jobs or pay bills. I wouldn’t be surprised if in 100 years people look back at the modern work culture and think it was completely insane.

Fossil fuels....because if we don't quit them, the planet will become largely inhospitable by then...so either we get off the horse or get kicked in the head by it.

Abortion. I'm 100% pro-choice, but eventually we'll learn to start treating actual problems - like unwanted pregnancies - instead of focusing on the symptoms.
