👆 Also, credit is such a f****** scam.
26
Charleston2Seattle Mar 27, 2026 +7
I got a consolidation loan for my credit cards. Same amount of debt, but my credit score went from 630 to 830. Literally the same freaking debt. Make it make sense!
7
MrIdisagree Mar 28, 2026 +3
After digging myself out of debt after a divorce, I decided I wouldn't do credit anymore. I pay cash for everything. After 20 yrs I thought maybe I should get a credit card in case of emergency. I can't get one because my credit score is bad, I asked why it was bad and they said because I didn't have credit. I had over $50,000 in my bank account but still couldn't get a card. That was the last time I will ever even think about credit.
3
AndrewHinds67 Mar 27, 2026 +13
Not at 0% it isn't.

A period. Periods are f****** bullshit.
218
xTrainerRedx Mar 27, 2026 +75
Heard that, that’s why I stick to commas,
75
ProfessorShameless Mar 27, 2026 +12
I remember those. But I've been on Mirena since 2009 and haven't had an actual period since. Mine were brutal when I had them. Week of heavy cramping and bleeding, then a tapering off for a week, then another week of heavy cramping and bleeding, then another week of tapering off, then rinse and repeat the next month. IUDs pretty much saved my life.
12
thingsarehardsoami Mar 27, 2026 +10
And if I may add, a period AFTER I got f****** spayed. Because why do I have something that ONLY exists as a means of reproduction when I removed my reproductive abilities? Bullshit, all of it.
10
CH11DW Mar 27, 2026 +8
They do sound like the biggest pain in the butt. And it’s a few times a year it’s every 28 days. How do you girls do it?
8
Muted_Winter8929 Mar 27, 2026 +16
If the pain is in your butt, it's most likely not your period
16
pjchik79 Mar 27, 2026 +25
During periods, females can have random butt cramps too. And period poops are a thing. But I get what you're going for. 😉
25
HoaryPuffleg Mar 27, 2026 +6
The butt pain is so weird! Like who thought that was a good idea? Stupid hormones.
6
Muted_Winter8929 Mar 27, 2026 +4
Ok I've never had a butt cramp but sounds about eqully as fun as my normal cramps. And my poops aren't that much butt and more intestine pain
4
PrestigiousZucchini9 Mar 27, 2026 +3
Well that sounds horrible.
3
zerothreeonethree Mar 27, 2026 +3
The girls do it the same way women do
3

eyeglasses. I can't believe I have to pay to see things clearly
159
scottjeffreys Mar 27, 2026 +82
Actually what you don’t want but have is blurry vision. If eyeglasses didn’t exist you’d really wish they did.
82
Excellent-Draw7741 Mar 27, 2026 +26
fair point.
26
Unit_79 Mar 27, 2026 +7
I got my first ever pair in January. (I’m in my forties.) I managed to lose them in the beginning of March, and finally got my replacements today, nearly three weeks later. After having glasses, going any amount of time without them was so shitty. I hated it. It’s amazing what it’s like not having them, versus never having them.
7
Decent_Taro_2358 Mar 27, 2026 +3
If you can, get eye laser surgery. One of the best decions I ever made.
3
rm-minus-r Mar 27, 2026 +4
Will second that. Went from -9.5 in each eye to 20/20. Such a massive and positive change to my life. A decade later, I'm at -0.25, so not bad at all.
4
PantheraLutra Mar 27, 2026 +3
I wear contacts 24/7 because I cannot stand being visually impaired I hate it

Anxiety & ADHD
99
rm-minus-r Mar 27, 2026 +15
Seriously, people without ADHD don't even begin to understand how debilitating of a disease it is. Jusy bad memory and trouble getting started when trying to do anything? Try a 80% reduction on how well in life you do. With medication, I have a good job where I pull down $220k a year. Without it? $30k a year, and losing job after job due to getting burnt out in just a few months.
15
Anxious_Armadillo484 Mar 27, 2026 +10
Yeah it sucks, I even hate talking about it. It feels shameful because to a lot of people it just sounds like a bunch of “excuses” or you get the “everybody has adhd these days” type response. Makes me want to implode into myself. What medications were you on if you don’t mind me asking? I took Wellbutrin & Buspar for a few months.
10
MyDarlingArmadillo Mar 27, 2026 +4

overthinking. didn’t order it, still got lifetime access 😭
137
CatGooseChook Mar 27, 2026 +19
My first thought when reading your comment was "hmm, I'll have to think about this". I'm also an overthinker 😅😮‍💨
19
Fromage_rolls Mar 27, 2026 +5
Damn, that one hurt a bit. Now I'm f****** overthinking what else to reply as it seems a bit of a short reply. Now, it all seems too much. Delete, post? F*** it.
5
CatGooseChook Mar 27, 2026 +4
You gave me a good laugh with that, and yes it took a bit of effort to avoid overthinking my response to your comment(well too much overthinking anyway 😂).
4
Fromage_rolls Mar 28, 2026 +3
Well, at least we can make a little bit of fun out of that. Hopefully it isn't necessary to add that the overthinking process cost me quite a lot more time that I'd like to admit.
3
Dogsluvme-tomuchhehe Mar 27, 2026 +6
Ketamine therapy is legal and helped me (although I don’t get it at a clinic just off my local guy who has medical grade. I’m not encouraging but anyone who has mental things as do I and u don’t have a problem or any ill feelings about medicinal substances might want to look into it. It basically can “rewire” or help your brain do what it’s supposed to and let you evaluate your overthinking or your thoughts while your thinking them and decipher them into a solution or a good thought instead of just overthinking

Chronic back pain. I'm finally old enough and financially able to retire. Yet my pain reduces my ability to enjoy it - sometimes to the point of having to stay in bed all day due to the pain. You can have it. I don't want it, I'm not a masochist.
37
Royal-Theme-8335 Mar 27, 2026 +64
That weird drawer full of random cables no idea what half of them are for, but apparently, I’m supposed to keep them forever
64
Muted_Winter8929 Mar 27, 2026 +7
What if you need one of them at one point? Better also keep the other 274 cables as well
7
Granny_knows_best Mar 27, 2026 +5
I have a drawer for just cords, yet when I need a cord, I cant find one. I have a hand vacuum, its pretty new, I cant charge it, no cord.
5
Tiny_Celebration_722 Mar 27, 2026 +3
Almost the same thing here. Not with a vacuum though. Instead it's a leaf blower battery ☹️.

94

You can’t
39
Playful-Plum1870 Mar 27, 2026 +36
I learned that today and honestly, Im broken. This user is 3 years old with some achievements, so I dont want To just create a New on
36
RoarOfTheWorlds Mar 27, 2026 +58
You’re thinking about this from the wrong angle. I aim to create a new Listnook account every 1-3 years. It’s helpful to prevent doxxing, and while that transition period could be a little rocky in the beginning as you have limitations on what you can comment and post, overall the security and privacy benefit is well worth it. Also, it’s nice to change things up every so often. It’s not like a huge commitment either. I’d recommend making a new account and if you don’t like doing it, you can abandon it. Keep in mind that things like achievements or badges are meaningless. No one looks at them and they were only introduced on Listnook to keep users coming back and to sort of game-ify having an account.
58
Playful-Plum1870 Mar 27, 2026 +34

Is there a way to xfr all your subs? I have a perfectly curated set of subs I follow but its a LOT
6
Th3_Accountant Mar 27, 2026 +5
Yup, I’m considering the same thing. After so many years I’m banned from almost every major sub, often for bullshit reasons
5
Gudge2007 Mar 27, 2026 +3
I wouldn't risk that, Listnook knows if you're using another account to evade a ban and can lead to you getting completely banned from Listnook
3
zerothreeonethree Mar 27, 2026 +3
Like getting banned from a shit site like Listnook would be a bad thing? 🤣
3
Gudge2007 Mar 27, 2026 +3
🤣
3
Leoni_ Mar 27, 2026 +3
If you get banned from a sublistnook, and use an account which was created *after* you were banned to contribute again, if it’s too many times you can get permanently banned
3
neolobe Mar 27, 2026 +3
I've been on Listnook since the great Digg migration in 2010. About every 3 years I've made a new account for the reasons you listed. Always nice to make a fresh start. The "neo" part means new.
3
JewelerOtherwise481 Mar 27, 2026 +3
I actually get the logic behind that. I’ve thought about how much random info builds up over the years and how easy it is for someone to piece things together. For me, the idea of a fresh start every once in a while sounds kind of freeing like hitting reset without really losing anything that matters. The badges and streaks never felt that important anyway.

Mine was 8 years old and i deleted it recently for the same reason. Worst part is rebuilding your algorithm, otherwise everything is just artificial
8
VFiddly Mar 27, 2026 +2
You can't, when I got sick of my old listnook username I burned the account to the ground and started a new one (this is my third account)
2

Large b****. Even being skinny they're large and it's honestly causing back pain. Most women wouldn't complain but I seriously wish I was smaller chested.
62
Kleverin Mar 27, 2026 +21
Most women would complain, because they know the struggle. Men, on the other hand, can't understand why you don't want to have weights attached to the upper part of your torso.
21
Cakes2611 Mar 27, 2026 +10
Yet every woman I've complained to says I should be grateful for a naturally large chest. So unfortunately they aren't always understanding. Men definitely aren't though you're right about that.
10
Prized-Potato Mar 27, 2026 +6
Okay I'm here as a woman to tell you that I got 6 lb lopped off my chest and it was easily the nicest and kindest most amazing thing I have ever done for myself. I wanted them all gone, the man doctor couldn't understand that concept and wouldn't let me go smaller than a b, but by God they're f****** gone mostly. Do it. Best f****** thing I've ever done for myself.

A stutter. It shapes your entire life. Yes, it is much better for me now than it was as a kid (was horrible back then), and I have learned how to control it, but it is mentally exhausting. Nowadays I have the kind where people won't really notice it that much, it's not over the top. It's sort of like how some people stutter a little bit when they get really excited in a conversation. For me I've sort of gone from the tttttttt to just going quiet, taking a deep breath and getting it out. Some people are weirded out by it. It's especially annoying how my name starts with a T, and that's one of the letters I struggle with. So when I have to shake someone's hand and introduce myself, it's a pain. You know instinctively when the stutter is coming. You structured your sentence in a specific way in your brain, but then when you get to a word, you quickly think "Oh shit, can't use that one, FIND SYNONYMS!!!", and you struggle to find a synonym to use instead that you wouldn't stutter over. It can make you less sociable, avoid conversations, and absolutely dread presentations. Even if you really are (and I am) someone who loves talking to people. The absolute best situations are when I feel comfortable. A quiet room, just me and maybe a few other people at most. Then I can relax and work my way through stuff. The absolute worst is loud environments like parties or a busy restaurant. But it can be different for different people. Alcohol does help in social situations, but that is also problematic. Now don't get me wrong, this makes it seem like it is only a sort of social anxiety thing. I don't think it is. It gets worse in socially awkward situations, but it is still there among friends in chill situations. So social situations with unknown people just amplifies it (for me). I don't stutter as much when I am by myself. I can have long conversations with myself and I won't stutter at all. I don't stutter if I sing. The mind is strange. Though I have learned to live with it, and life is much better now than it was back then (middle school and high school was the absolute worst period of my life on account of this). One of the things that did help me was my 9 months as a conscript in the Army. It gave me confidence, and it gave me a leadership example. One of my officers also had a stutter. A noticeably "worse" one than mine. But he was respected, and even behind his back people liked him and his leadership/communication style. It made me more accepting of my own stutter, to see others not really care about his one. And it made me chill the f*** out, and accept that sometimes that just happens, and that I can just move on with it and I can (and should) still get my points across - and not avoid doing that because I feel like it would be embarrising. I thought it would ruin me. But it turns out that now I am finishing 5 years of university and was just offered quite a prestigious starting job at a really good company. I did stutter during the interview and assessment days, but they still wanted me. Over 2000 graduates applied, and they saw through my stutter and wanted me. Another example that it doesn't have to bring me down or define me. I think these types of things are what really makes you "feel better" about things like a stutter. Acceptance, feeling like your life does not actually have to be different from others or be limited because of your "disability". That is the most important part that society can play for people who have a stutter and other things like dyslexia and so on. Showing these kids that their lives do not have to be defined or limited by it. I didn't get that as a kid. But I did get it in the army and later in my professional career.

Hundreds of music CDs, mostly disco music, which belonged to a friend of mine who died of cancer. He gave them to me to rip into mp3 files, and then he got very sick not long after and passed away. I don't know what to do with them and would feel bad just tossing them out.

Tinnitus. Have had it since 2009, but two weeks ago it took a huge flare-up and I can hear all the three new cacophonies through busy traffic. After joining the support forums I felt deep sympathy towards people whose career, marriage and mental stability ended because of it. Being on a suicide watch is not too rare either. Protect your ears folks, use earplugs on concerts, be very mindful what medicines you take (NSAIDs, SSRIs etc. can cause it), and do not smoke. It's a torment that can ruin your life.
