After digging myself out of debt after a divorce, I decided I wouldn't do credit anymore. I pay cash for everything. After 20 yrs I thought maybe I should get a credit card in case of emergency. I can't get one because my credit score is bad, I asked why it was bad and they said because I didn't have credit. I had over $50,000 in my bank account but still couldn't get a card. That was the last time I will ever even think about credit.

Mine were brutal when I had them. Week of heavy cramping and bleeding, then a tapering off for a week, then another week of heavy cramping and bleeding, then another week of tapering off, then rinse and repeat the next month.
IUDs pretty much saved my life.

Jusy bad memory and trouble getting started when trying to do anything?
Try a 80% reduction on how well in life you do. With medication, I have a good job where I pull down $220k a year. Without it? $30k a year, and losing job after job due to getting burnt out in just a few months.

I’m not encouraging but anyone who has mental things as do I and u don’t have a problem or any ill feelings about medicinal substances might want to look into it. It basically can “rewire” or help your brain do what it’s supposed to and let you evaluate your overthinking or your thoughts while your thinking them and decipher them into a solution or a good thought instead of just overthinking

You’re thinking about this from the wrong angle. I aim to create a new Listnook account every 1-3 years. It’s helpful to prevent doxxing, and while that transition period could be a little rocky in the beginning as you have limitations on what you can comment and post, overall the security and privacy benefit is well worth it. Also, it’s nice to change things up every so often. It’s not like a huge commitment either.
I’d recommend making a new account and if you don’t like doing it, you can abandon it.
Keep in mind that things like achievements or badges are meaningless. No one looks at them and they were only introduced on Listnook to keep users coming back and to sort of game-ify having an account.

I've been on Listnook since the great Digg migration in 2010. About every 3 years I've made a new account for the reasons you listed. Always nice to make a fresh start.
The "neo" part means new.
3
JewelerOtherwise481Mar 27, 2026

I actually get the logic behind that. I’ve thought about how much random info builds up over the years and how easy it is for someone to piece things together. For me, the idea of a fresh start every once in a while sounds kind of freeing like hitting reset without really losing anything that matters. The badges and streaks never felt that important anyway.

A stutter. It shapes your entire life. Yes, it is much better for me now than it was as a kid (was horrible back then), and I have learned how to control it, but it is mentally exhausting. Nowadays I have the kind where people won't really notice it that much, it's not over the top. It's sort of like how some people stutter a little bit when they get really excited in a conversation. For me I've sort of gone from the tttttttt to just going quiet, taking a deep breath and getting it out. Some people are weirded out by it. It's especially annoying how my name starts with a T, and that's one of the letters I struggle with. So when I have to shake someone's hand and introduce myself, it's a pain.
You know instinctively when the stutter is coming. You structured your sentence in a specific way in your brain, but then when you get to a word, you quickly think "Oh shit, can't use that one, FIND SYNONYMS!!!", and you struggle to find a synonym to use instead that you wouldn't stutter over.
It can make you less sociable, avoid conversations, and absolutely dread presentations. Even if you really are (and I am) someone who loves talking to people. The absolute best situations are when I feel comfortable. A quiet room, just me and maybe a few other people at most. Then I can relax and work my way through stuff. The absolute worst is loud environments like parties or a busy restaurant. But it can be different for different people. Alcohol does help in social situations, but that is also problematic. Now don't get me wrong, this makes it seem like it is only a sort of social anxiety thing. I don't think it is. It gets worse in socially awkward situations, but it is still there among friends in chill situations. So social situations with unknown people just amplifies it (for me).
I don't stutter as much when I am by myself. I can have long conversations with myself and I won't stutter at all. I don't stutter if I sing. The mind is strange.
Though I have learned to live with it, and life is much better now than it was back then (middle school and high school was the absolute worst period of my life on account of this).
One of the things that did help me was my 9 months as a conscript in the Army. It gave me confidence, and it gave me a leadership example. One of my officers also had a stutter. A noticeably "worse" one than mine. But he was respected, and even behind his back people liked him and his leadership/communication style. It made me more accepting of my own stutter, to see others not really care about his one. And it made me chill the f*** out, and accept that sometimes that just happens, and that I can just move on with it and I can (and should) still get my points across - and not avoid doing that because I feel like it would be embarrising.
I thought it would ruin me. But it turns out that now I am finishing 5 years of university and was just offered quite a prestigious starting job at a really good company. I did stutter during the interview and assessment days, but they still wanted me. Over 2000 graduates applied, and they saw through my stutter and wanted me. Another example that it doesn't have to bring me down or define me. I think these types of things are what really makes you "feel better" about things like a stutter. Acceptance, feeling like your life does not actually have to be different from others or be limited because of your "disability". That is the most important part that society can play for people who have a stutter and other things like dyslexia and so on. Showing these kids that their lives do not have to be defined or limited by it. I didn't get that as a kid. But I did get it in the army and later in my professional career.

Hundreds of music CDs, mostly disco music, which belonged to a friend of mine who died of cancer. He gave them to me to rip into mp3 files, and then he got very sick not long after and passed away. I don't know what to do with them and would feel bad just tossing them out.

Tinnitus. Have had it since 2009, but two weeks ago it took a huge flare-up and I can hear all the three new cacophonies through busy traffic. After joining the support forums I felt deep sympathy towards people whose career, marriage and mental stability ended because of it. Being on a suicide watch is not too rare either.
Protect your ears folks, use earplugs on concerts, be very mindful what medicines you take (NSAIDs, SSRIs etc. can cause it), and do not smoke. It's a torment that can ruin your life.
