Tried it as a joke, kept eating it like it owed me money.

Snake tastes surprisingly good when prepared right - had it at a local spot overseas during deployment and it was basically like chewy chicken

I've eaten a lot of weird shit, I haven't enjoyed all of it. One of the more unique (to the US) items is a Burmese Tea Leaf Salad - the topping, instead of dressing, is fermented green tea leaves. It's nice, has a lovely flavor, and gives you a bit of pep with the caffeine in the leaves. Chocolate with lemony flavored ants in it is probably next on the list - weird but delicious. I've had squirrel, which isn't all that weird if you grow up in Redneckland, but in the more civilized areas, people look at you weirdly if you admit to it. Squirrel Stew was a common fall food in my house. I've also eaten a lot of game meat over the years, I've had moose, elk, rabbit, most of the game fowl like turkey, quail, pheasant, etc. Again, not weird if you grew up in a hunting family but most folks have never had any of those animals unless they were farmed. Oh and turkey eggs, nobody I know has had those - they're lovely - very large, best deviled eggs ever.

Gagh! Last time I flew on a klingon ship. It was weird at first, but strangely tasty

i once had crickets covered in chocolate and they were surprisingly good, like a weird combo of salty and sweet. definitely a wild snack experience.

Balut. Ate it on a dare in the Philippines. The texture is... an experience. But honestly, the broth and yolk part is actually pretty good once you get past the idea.

BBQ pringles + chocolate. Believe me it's like the embodiment of sweet under salty lol

My brother was attending a University. My parents were hoping that I would want to go to the same University, so they insisted that I come along with them when they went to go visit. For dinner, my brother recommended that we go to a local Spanish restaurant with a bullfighting theme. I had been studying Spanish in High School, and felt that I was fluent enough to handle the Spanish Language version of the menu. I thought that I was ordering tender cuts of veal smothered in a molé sauce. About halfway through my meal, I realized that these were *very* tender cuts: they were testicles.
