Their sound design in general was always fantastic. Diablo 2 was on another level, but everything blizzard put out during that time period was just phenomenally done.

GTA San Andreas and I will not be taking questions.
That game was an entire world. I spent more time just driving around listening to the radio than actually doing missions. Radio Los Santos at 2am on a school night felt like genuinely being somewhere else.
No game since has made me feel like I actually lived inside it. Not just played it. Lived in it.

Minecraft all the way. And no it’s not a kids game, I think its suitable for all ages, it’s easy and interesting enough for children, but when you become an adult there’s even more interesting things to do. What people do with redstone is mindblowing, speedrunning also includes a lot of math and, of course, skill, et cetera. The main focus of the game is, of course, creativity, imo building in minecraft is also really fun. It also improves skills like resource management, coordination, sense of beauty, etc.

It used to be the original Secret of Monkey Island. Love the game, love the soundtrack. Guybrush Threepwood was my favorite game character. Still have the CD somewhere.
But then in 2023 I played Skyrim on my PS3 for the first time and it is just the best thing ever. First playthrough went well above 1000 hours.
Yup im old and still have PS3\\PS4.

I don’t really have a favorite video game. I was always much more drawn to the community around gaming than the games, themselves. This wound up with me owning hundreds of unplayed games I got on d******* because someone suggested them.
Now, I just wait until free games and extreme sale prices pop up. I don’t have any consoles or a decent PC but I do have some gear leftover if I ever replace my Switch OLED for friends or long passenger rides.

The Last of Us Part II
Say what you want about the Cycle of Violence theme being itself a little preachy, but I’d never seen it *that* well integrated into the story or better presented since maybe Red Dead Redemption 1.
The way the game made me want to hurt Abby for like 9 hours straight, only to have me wanting to see her succeed after the next 9 hours. Personally, I just think that was an achievement, and gave me a feeling I don’t think I’ve ever felt before or since.
The idea that perspective is everything, there is always two sides to a story. They made my actions in the first game make me complicit in what happened in Part II. Did I ever stop and think if the people I was shooting and killing had friends or families? No. Not that we have to of course but it just made the game a very unique experience and has genuinely changed the way I view certain stories.
