Where do you all get your upcoming movie information from (aside from listnook)

Posted by MightyMightyMonkey

I always see posts about re-releases and upcoming movies here, which is great, but I always wonder where the information comes from. Fair disclosure: I'm old. I got my news from television, newspapers, newsstand mags and in-cinema publications (magazines, posters, trailers). It was everywhere, you couldn't avoid it. Whenever I see a post about a Miyazaki re-release I quickly search Cineplex to see if it is playing near by but there has to be a better way. Doesn't there? I am always wishing Cineplex (or your local theatre chain) had a revue site that catered to promoting the upcoming re-releases, because it seems like demand is there. But even movies these days seem like marketing is a distant thought, let alone re-releases. No one is advertising it seems (at least outside of their own platform)and now I honestly find information on movies to be hard to come by, but I'm sure it's where I'm looking/not looking. Is the information really as fractured and spread out as it seems?

i feel you, man. checking sites like Fandango, Box Office Mojo or even Letterboxd is a solid way to keep up with upcoming flicks. follow some movie channels on YouTube too; they usually cover a ton of news and re-releases.

I appreciate it. I figure I'm just lazy in this one (at least) aspect of my life. I'm a data seeker in most other cases. It's so strange the turn movies have made though. The local cinema doesn't even put up posters outside or change the sign for what's currently playing.

BoxOfficeMojo for the release calendar. IMDB for trailers and more details.

Two good sites I love, but I definitely can't leave out Rotten Tomatoes.

Honestly just choose whatever social media platform you want and follow a bunch of movie pages. I saw the new Spiderman trailer the moment it came out because I follow Marvel.

Search the AMC website for the word "anniversary": [https://www.amctheatres.com/search?filter=nowplaying%2Ccomingsoon&q=anniversary](https://www.amctheatres.com/search?filter=nowplaying%2Ccomingsoon&q=anniversary)

it's a good point, actually. I often do not. I very reflexively was going to reply that "of course I do" but I had that moment of clarity when I realized I just head to the theatre website and check for tickets or read the comments in the post. that said I went back and clicked on the link for Kiki's re-release post and that website....I did not enjoy that experience. haha. Cheers for the clarity check.
