Hi everyone, where do you most often discover new music?
For me: Release Radar on Spotify, sometimes YouTube, and a lot through personal recommendations. But it’s often just specific songs, and many times I don’t even remember the artist’s name unless they’re already well-known.
On Instagram, I see a lot of musicians (my algorithm is set up that way), but there’s so much of it. Sometimes I like or save something, but I don’t really go back to it actively.
Spotify's discover weekly is pretty decent but I've found some absolute gems just wandering through plant care playlists - there music taste tends to be surprisingly eclectic

This post makes me miss the Tower Records Listening Station. I found so many great artists there.
Now I use Spotify. I still listen to the radio in the car and I keep my eyes peeled here on Listnook. If I see a suggestion in one of the music subs, I'll go check them out on Spotify

Grass roots venues gig listing's and festival line-up posters, especially smaller festivals, are a great source of finding loads of bands I've never heard of. I've found so many of my favourite bands this way and at a point where they are playing smaller venues and tickets aren't too expensive.
