Which is the most underrated show you have seen?

Posted by Past-Matter-8548

Like top class shows nobody ever mentions, not necessarily bad in rating but bad in exposure. Here are some of mine: Tokyo Vice, Blue Eye Samurai, Devils Hour I never see these in pop conversations.

Blue Eye Samurai was all over the damn place for a while. It just dropped out of the entertainment news cycle. For me, as far as publicity goes, it has to be the Korean period piece & zombie apocalypse horror show 'Kingdom'. Ran into it purely by accident a few years back, thought it was fantastic.

Will forever wait for another season of Kingdom.. best zombie series for me

I think it was pretty much complete. Yes, there's a setup in there for a follow-on series, but I don't think they really left anything hanging. It would be nice if there was more, but what there is is,is a complete story.

I rarely see Corner Gas mentioned outside of Canada.

No kidding. Doesn't help too that the show was once put on the late night s*** when it used to come on WGN America.

**The Booth at the End** (2010) was so captivating for a show that happens entirely at a single table in a diner.

Somebody else saw it, too? I have to rewatch it every five years to assure myself that I didn't dream it.

I saw it too! My friend told me about it so there’s a few of us.

The Magicians. It’s wild how little acclaim that absolute masterpiece receives.

What’s so good about it

it’s like a slightly more adult harry potter, college kid discovers there’s magic and is super excited, but turns out magic can lead to some REALLy fucked up shit lol it’s a hilarious show with some great characters and even better plotlines

It’s got such relatable characters, even though their lives are so crazy and fantastical. It’s simultaneously got great emotional depth and an irreverent sense of humor. It’s one of the only shows that can make me cry and laugh hysterically in the same episode. And it always kept me guessing what would happen next the first time I watched. Even now that I’ve seen it many times, I can still feel the suspense.

The books are very different but equally good. (Same setting and characters, very different plotlines)

There’s a Norwegian show called Ragnarok that’s pretty awesome. There’s plenty of shows that are underrated. But if I had to pick two off the top of my head I’d say Pantheon and Ragnarok. I had a lot of fun watching both and they’re both very memorable.

Abubbs5868 Mar 29, 2026 +2
Ragnarok was pretty good. You can find it on Netflix.

It really caught me off guard with how invested I became with it lol. It’s been years since I’ve seen it and I’m actually surprised it just rolled off the tongue the way it did haha. But the post said underrated and I feel like I never see it brought up so I figure I’d toss something random into the ether.

Probably Wild Cards for me. Aside from the occasional GIFs and TikTok edits, I haven't heard one single person talk about it on social media. Yeah, the show airs new episodes in its homeland ahead of us, so it has its fans over there. I just think it's underrated here in the states. But then again, it's on The CW. I shouldn't expect much. Honorable Mentions: Son of a Critch, Super Drags, Teenage Euthanasia, and Bless the Harts

Wild Cards isn't that great and I watch it. I'd rather watch Luke Perry on Private Eyes.

Alf was genuinely funny in the beginning of its run. This has been lost in modern culture.

“Now & Again” (not Once And Again). It was a CBS show about a dead man that had his brain put into an artificial superhuman body to work for the government. It came out right before the big comic movie boom of the 2000’s.

Farscape. It's beloved by its fans, but it has little to no pop culture footprint. The whole show is great, but Season 3 specifically is some of the absolute best sci-fi I've ever seen. Not sure where it may be streaming right now but if you have rhe ability to watch ot now and can get behind some solid sci-fi that isn't afraid to get a little weird do yourself a favor and go check it out. Four very solid seasons and despite good ratings for the network they were on (Sci-fi channel) the show was canceled mostly for being too expensive. (Something that later happened to The Expanse as well) Season 4 ends on a cliffhanger but they did a two part miniseries called The Peacekeeper Wars to wrap everything up. The miniseries is a little sloppy and rushed but they at least got to provide an ending and wrap up for all the major characters and plotlines.
