Which movie do you think is the most meme-d out of all other movies?

Posted by Longjumping-Role6136

maybe Shrek or despicable me? or a live action movie like harry Potter (I doubt that). I don't know I feel like animated movies can get more memed than other real life movies, especially if they had funny character designs. and I think this movie would probably be in the 2000s since that's where movie memes all started lol

In their memetic impact mixed with their cultural impact, it's gotta be the Star Wars prequels, right?

Idk about 'meme-d out', but certainly very quotable.

Peter Jackson's LOTR Trilogy, 100%. I got a Master's in Film and Media Studies a few years ago. One of the final papers I wrote was on LOTR memes and how they have affected humor online. The films hit at the perfect time, just as Web 1.0 was turning into Web 2.0, and the concept of an image macro meme being widely shareable across early social media was hitting critical mass. Those memes are all considered 'classic' memes now, including Boromir's 'Walk into Mordor', Gandalf's 'No memory of this place', Legolas' 'They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!', Samwise's 'PO-TAY-TOES', 'Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys', and of course the grandaddy of them all, Gollum's 'my preciousssssss'.

Goodfellas - best laugh ever recorded in cinema, with the T-Rex arms and all. Preceded by the best speech in all of cinema - What am I a clown? I'm here to amuse you?

I think the sandworms in Dune: Part Two got heavily memed, especially after that popcorn bucket thing. They went from terrifying desert gods to kinda funny and even cute in memes. The same with the "Lisan al-Gaib" scenes — Stilgar hyping up Paul for everything turned into a huge meme template. It’s funny how memes can take something epic and scary and make it feel ridiculous and hilarious instead. Has anyone else noticed that memes kind of ruined the intimidation factor of the sandworms for you?
