>We could just take their oil. But, you know, I’m not sure that the people in our country have the patience to do that, which is unfortunate. That's called "pillaging" a******, and it's a war crime.

Might makes right is the way of the rapist.

It’s the way of a man who never went through the right of passage of being punched in the face because you were being an a******.

axonxorz Apr 2, 2026 +67
> never went through the right of passage of being punched in the face Some would say having your d*** bit by the teenager you were raping, _allegedly_, or a decorative metal spike shoved up your ass by the teenager you were raping, _allegedly_, leading to your permanent incontinence, _allegedly_, skips that rite of passage, but it sure hasn't seemed to have worked as deterrence.

blitzkregiel Apr 2, 2026 +9
ok…and i really don’t want to ask but feel i need to just the same…a spike up the ass what now?

ngingingingi Apr 2, 2026 +11
decorative metal spike receipts? I dont doubt, it's just a new one to me.
11
axonxorz Apr 2, 2026 +15
My mistake, it was a metal tent stake, so functional rather than decorative, fortunately in more ways than one! These come from the supposition around Sascha Riley, he was _allegedly_ the one who did it.

He did have someone dump a bowl of mashed potato’s on his head at a family dinner. Which is apparently the most traumatic thing that happened to him in his childhood.

Not if we’re not at war, though, because war requires Congressional approval.

War crimes are war crimes even if there is no war. You can't just bomb civilian infrastructure or citizens of a nation and just say "Ope, we weren't at war so it's fair game!"

Every legit media company needs to jump on this until November. >Trump "fantasizes about being a king, admits there’s no money left for health care or childcare because of the war he started, and daydreams about seizing all of Iran’s oil..." This war was about diverting money away from social programs to punish the poor and middle class.

That’s the problem - the public is getting acclimated to extreme bad behavior of our leaders. We should be outraged. This should result in impeachment. But no.
516
Corbotron_5 Apr 2, 2026 +168
The problem is that the public have shown that’s there’s no low he can reach which would spur them to action. Call it complacency, stupidity, cowardice, whatever, the American people simply aren’t going to act in their best interest.
168
Emergency-Program146 Apr 2, 2026 +120
The real problem is that protest and electoral politics no longer has any relevance in our new order. We have not yet begun to suffer in the ways necessary for real change to be achieved. But we sure are off to a start…
120
GaimeGuy Apr 2, 2026 +116
America lacks both urgency and long term memory.  Our protests are fairs;  conventions; parades;  events we plan out for dates and times in the future, so we can get our affairs in order. In South Korea over 10% of the nation poured out into the streets when shit happened.  When leaders went from government buildings to party enclaves, word spread and people moved by the hundreds of thousands to those enclaves.    That doesn't happen here in the US, not even along the Northeast corridor.   And they certainly didn't need to wait until the weekend to get together, or to put a set day and time limit on how long they would gather. No, we say "Hoho, they're going to pay for that in 2 years when the next election happens." The other problem this country has is that it never gives Republicans lasting consequences for their f*** ups. They get kicked out, pivot further to the right, and then win elections 2 years later. Voters got upset at republicans for taking away abortion rights, but it lasted all of 1 election cycle. They continued to take away abortion rights, support their previous actions, further erode them, infrige on other forms of family planning and family health care, but you don't' really see voters punishing them for their abortion stances anymore. They've moved on. Accountability means there needs to be atonement, not just a few years of time out. They constantly try to take away health care, do the american people hold onto this knowledge and keep a grudge against the GOP?  No, they move on.    That attempt at repealing the ACA in trump's first term failed by one vote and people didn't hold onto it as a grudge.   The entire Medicaid system was down for about 12-48 hours across the United states in the first 100 daya of this term, through deliberate sabotage.   The American people have moved on.
116
RampantTyr Apr 2, 2026 +29
For protests to be effective they have to create some sort of consequence for the ruling class. The easiest is economic pain, but actual pain can work as well. But no matter what the protests will likely be illegal under current American law. And the threat of arrest and imprisonment is quite damning in the US police state. It is essentially signing up to have your life ruined and to potentially be tortured. So I completely understand why most people don’t choose it.

I love when people throw out the word impeachment. It's as though all of them have already forgot he was impeached twice and not a f****** thing happened.

The most insane part is that as President and a billionaire with connections he's already arguably the most powerful man in history and yet he wants more.
87
witchofpain Apr 2, 2026 +110
There is never enough to make a narcissist happy. It’s why these billionaires just keep taking more even though they will never be able to spend what they have in 10 lifetimes. It’s why they are raping and murdering children. It’s never enough.
110
PhoenixHeart_ Apr 2, 2026 +20
I think, to add to your point, they’re also too stupid and corrupt to grasp the actual value of what, and how much, they already have.
20
mountainbride Apr 2, 2026 +6
I think it’s because once you’ve won the game, what’s left are the things you can’t buy. You can purchase the admiration of the poors, but you can’t fake it with the similarly wealthy. You can’t buy your way into genuine. Genuine respect. Genuine love. There are simply things that are not for sale and I expect that at a certain level of wealth, you see it. All the wealth and power in the world, and there’s still some clique you’re not going to be a part of. Because *they don’t like you*. And for a billionaire narcissist, this must be terribly upsetting. I wonder if Trump thinks that if he can just put his name on enough stuff, he’ll be able to fade into a more likable place in this country’s history.

>Every legit media company needs to jump on this until November Yes! And every fierce-minded Democrat politician and candidate needs to talk about this. Trump ran as the peace candidate, he promised Americans *no more foreign wars*, yet here we are mired up to our asses in Trump's corrupt behavior. Recall, Trump also promised to *not* touch Medicaid, Medicare or social security. And now those programs are at jeopardy *or are outright being targeted directly*.
289
ClarinetMaster117 Apr 2, 2026 +63
Even if democrats ran with this Trump voters wouldn’t care. All the dumb shit he did in his first term was immediately forgotten during 2024. They don’t care.
63
Trapezoidal_Sunshine Apr 2, 2026 +101
The key here is to stop worrying so much about Trump voters and h******* Republicans. Democrats would perform better if they A) started catering to their actual base in order to inspire them to show up in large numbers, and B) started reaching out to people who don't vote regularly. The Democratic Party needs to get it through their thick heads that most Republicans, and all Trump supporters, will never vote for a Democrat. Ever. The Democrats will never win by trying to get Republicans to vote for them. But they absolutely can win by inspiring actual Democrats and non-voters to show up and vote for them. The further right the party goes, the more liberals they lose. They're a party that constantly alienates its own voters while trying to go after voters who see them as the party of the Devil himself. It's a completely idiotic strategy, and they seem incapable of recognizing it as such. Field candidates that inspire people and the voters will come.
101
SaltonPrepper Apr 2, 2026 +23
While I agree most Republicans are lost causes, Independents aren't. Dems know that the left will never vote for Trump and will not just sit it out and screw up results like what happened in Michigan, so it actually does make sense to try to grab more independents. Let's face it the electorate sucks and you need to meet them where they are. You had people voting for Trump based on f'in egg prices that got pinned on Biden. Fight fire with fire and pin everything wrong you can on Trump and his GOP enablers.
23
datenoevil Apr 2, 2026 +8
It's crazy. When I was taught about voting in high school they specifically said it was important to look carefully at the candidates and never just pull the lever(it used to be a real lever) for your party. I've always felt that i would vote against my party for the right person but politics has become so polarized I don't think that's gonna happen
8
Dyssomniac Apr 2, 2026 +14
Trump voters don't matter. Republican voters, broadly speaking, don't matter. The Democrats have shown that, if they actually appeal to the left instead of a mythical moderate, they can absolutely crush elections with pretty left wing policies. Trump and Obama for all their differences have shown that, if you just meet the moment where it is (unhappy populace desperate for change), you can get tens of millions of votes. Whoever channels that energy for the left will create a generational FDR moment once again and if they have the balls to follow through on it rather than return to the center-right like Obama and the post-Clinton Democrats, they'll shape American governance for a century.
14
qorbexl Apr 2, 2026 +45
....they always were targeted. The GOP has been clear that they want to end all social programs like they've nearly done with welfare and SNAP, including Medicare/aid and Social Security Is any of that somehow news? It's why they opposed ACA and refuse to give anything but lip service to a healcare plan. Their plan is to shovel that money to their friends in business while providing nothing for the undeserving leechs in the working class
45
Dlark17 Apr 2, 2026 +16
If only there had been a document, a project even, that would have outlined this plan fully so we could have been warned before the election!

Fr. Those comedy news videos on YouTube are more legit than anything connected to rightwingers... I'm constantly falling for *The Onion* because of how real their "news" channel has been lately. Lol.
28
RicRacer Apr 2, 2026 +929
\-- Every legit media company needs to jump on this until November. Theoretically, that would be a good thing. The reality is simpler - the USA public needs to be outraged. The problem isn't that media has not exposed Trump as an immoral corrupt narcissistic con-man, because they have. The problem is that a significant portion of the USA public does not care. The reasons why they don't care, or care more about other things, can be debated ad nauseum. But the problem with the government is that too many people just ignore it. That many people ignore it when it is laid out for them.

SolarBoytoyDjango Apr 2, 2026 +674
The idea that the media has done its job is absurd.

HideousSerene Apr 2, 2026 +95
Nah, Americans are petty and petulant. A large portion of us have grievances for things that are made up while lacking the critical thinking skills to discern the things actually making our lives worse. It's produced a population primed for capitalistic feeding. Our media, be it sensationalized news, inner-circle feeds, or collective memes, festers on our malcontent, feeding it like cancer feeds a tumor. Were Americans not a country half full of Karens we might recognize our short attention spans are holding us hostage in a permanent sense of semi-rage, but lo and behold the f****** truth of it all is we actually like being pissed off about being mildly inconvenienced so much more than we do being concerned about being f****** raped and robbed.
95
CogentCogitations Apr 2, 2026 +45
No one should have to sus out anything. Corruption and incompetence of this level by the President of the country should be headline news every single day.
45
Fadedcamo Apr 2, 2026 +30
It is. But those headlines aren't being read by his supporters.
30
SolarBoytoyDjango Apr 2, 2026 +18
Multiple people can be at fault. Citizens aren't doing enough to educate themselves. And, simultaneously true, media moguls are doing everything they can to control what things are being read. Fox could start telling the truth, and that's not on the supporters watching. Facebook could rework its algorithm to not boost the alt right, and that's not on supporters either.
18
andyraylan Apr 2, 2026 +54
This is what I think, the media is often reporting into a void. The people who are paying attention already know, the people who don’t know are not going to start paying attention.
54
Beginning_Cupcake_45 Apr 2, 2026 +32
Agreed. This isn’t a matter of the information not being there and readily accessible, it’s a matter of people choosing to push it away for their preferred reality.
32
knowitall89 Apr 2, 2026 +20
If you mention wild shit Trump says to pretty much any conservative, they'll say they didn't see/hear it and try to move on. Being ignorant is more convenient for them.

AnteaterFormal7291 Apr 2, 2026 +79
There's a whole f****** planet out there mate it's not as if nobody pointed out how dumb America is for this. The idea that "the media" as a whole, globally, failed to report on what a turd Trump is, is absurd. Americans just can't be assed unless its put on a TV dinner tray for them to consume
79
Zealousideal_Rise879 Apr 2, 2026 +9
Sane washing is bad in Canada too. 80% of our media is American. Reading only them, you’d think it’s business as usual in the states.
9
1842 Apr 2, 2026 +18
There's also the issue of conflicting interests of the news organizations themselves. The major news organizations were already biased towards the priorities of their very rich owners. It's only getting worse with things like the Ellisons buying up huge portions of the media/news ecosystem.
18
ThisIsMyHobbyAccount Apr 2, 2026 +40
I don't think it's that they don't care, I think a large portion of them just don't know. They've been shielded from any negative news by sources they cling to on a daily basis. Do you think those people hear an even-handed assessment of his actions and then think critically about whether to continue supporting him or not? They don't even hear the contrary evidence. They live in a vacuum.
40
Vio_ Apr 2, 2026 +43
My state - Kansas - is having No Kings rallies in some of the smallest, incredibly conservative towns throughout the state. The vacuum for people who "don't know" is of their choosing.
43
nhepner Apr 2, 2026 +26
Most of these people wake up every day and actively deny and refuse to acknowledge objective reality. They have engaged in wilful ignorance. You're giving a lot of cover to people who ACTIVELY chose to be ignorant because they are small, selfish and shitty people. You might be right in some cases, but you're removing culpability from a ton of people who are very guilty when you do this.
26
dkyguy1995 Apr 2, 2026 +18
Seriously though, if you consume news from anywhere except for Fox or just the few articles that trickle into your social feed you would have all the information you could ever need to know what's going on. It's willful ignorance at this point. Media literacy is dead

I respectfully disagree. Diverting money away from programs is too deep of a concept for him. The war was started because esteem files were on the news. Israel convinced him to start because they needed an excuse to invade Lebanon. Hegspeth convinced him to start because he's dumb enough to think that once the allatoyah was killed that Iran would become a democracy overnight. Israel + Hegspeth + Epstein = the war. Now America has lost its last shred of respect in the world, oil access will be controlled by Iran, Russia no longer has to suffer from sanctions, investments in US bonds will drop, interstate on our debt will increase, and America is no longer the best place for countries to invest. Pam Bondi allowed this to happen by not releasing the Epstein details. Marco allowed this to happen by not standing up to Hegspeth. What a frigging mess.
23
frieddumplings Apr 2, 2026 +13
Is this a new revelation or something? He's openly said he wants to seize Iran's oil. And he did it to Venezuela, so there's even a precedent. As for no money left, again nothing new. He's been a disaster from the beginning.

2504
ChicagoAuPair Apr 2, 2026 +241
It’s not baffling, he has never lived in the real world. His whole life has been inside of a tiny bubble. He is an 80 year old toddler. “When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different.” “The little boy that still wants attention,” explained Marla Maples, Trump’s second wife. She wasn’t the only one who thought so. “He wants to be noticed,” said Ivana Trump, wife No. 1, who recalled sending [Trump] into a fit of rage by skiing past him on a hill in Aspen, Colorado. Mr. Trump stopped, took off his skis and walked off the trail. “He could not take it, that I could do something better than he did,” she recalled. And then there is Melania, “I sometimes have said I have two boys at home: I have my young son, and I have my husband.” The man has never gone grocery shopping (never even knew the word before last year), he’s never gone on a hike or changed a tire, never done his own taxes or made a budget. His world is so incredibly small and insulated.

You know, the last time this country had to get rid of a monarch, peaceful protest wasn't enough
115
ErusTenebre Apr 2, 2026 +5
It started with peaceful protests until said King chose a different path.

Every time this comes up on Facebook local news/papers some guy with rap around Oakley’s, without a hint of irony, says “We don’t have a king!”
19
Yeeslander Apr 2, 2026 +43
I think it's important to quantify the statement "Trump fantasizes about being king" for anyone trying to dismiss it as liberal conjecture--*he actually f****** said it:* >“If I was a king, we’d be doing a lot more. I’m doing a lot, but I could be doing a lot more if I was a king.”
43
CSAtWitsEnd Apr 2, 2026 +9
> "On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem as crowds welcomed him with praise honoring him as King". They call me king now, do you believe it? No king. I'm such a king I can't get a ballroom approved. Pretty amazing, right? If I was a king - would be doing a lot mo--I'm doing a lot, but I'd be doing a lot more if I was a king.

...also, this answers the question of why he gave that useless speech last night. Figures. "Trump also mentioned his address to the country to take place later that evening, saying to the audience, 'Tonight I’m making a little speech at 9 o’clock and basically I’m gonna tell everybody how great I am.'"

17
brattyblondeish Apr 2, 2026 +225
The fact that he's complaining about not being able to do more authoritarian things while fantasizing about being a king should terrify every American. This isn't even a dog whistle anymore, it's him straight up admitting his fascist fantasies at an Easter lunch of all places.

I’m doing a lot, but I could be doing a lot more if I was a king.” Not that they weren’t justified before, but this quote gives so much more merit to the No Kings protests.
499
CommonSenseLib Apr 2, 2026 +123
If you posted this quote in Conservative (which you couldn't, they'd remove it immediately), they'd bend themselves into a pretzel to justify it while also mocking the protests and claiming that Trump doesnt want to be king.

Doctor_Shotbottom Apr 2, 2026 +50
also no federal tariffs!!
50
holyoak Apr 2, 2026 +74
Don't threaten me with a good time! Let's do it! Abolish Federal income tax and let the states handle it, with their surplus funding the Fed. I am so over Red states that operate at a deficit getting to decide how tax dollars (that they don't even provide) are spent.
74
WereInbuisness Apr 2, 2026 +33
Texas and Florida are the only Red states that provide more tax revenue than they get in Federal funding. The rest of them just take and take, where as blue states give more than they get back in funding, except for a couple of them. If this happened, red state MAGA morons would find out real fast that they're states desperately relied on blue states and they're states are considered the pimpled butthole of the US. They love our money, yet they insult us and believe our successful blue states are "commie hell holes." Sigh. Trump is just such a moron.
33
VexedCanadian84 Apr 2, 2026 +52
seriously, who's saying this? "“We could just take their oil. But, you know, I’m not sure that the people in our country have the patience to do that, which is unfortunate. You know, they want to see it end. If we stayed there, I, you know, I’d prefer just to take the oil. We could do it so easily. I would prefer that, but people in the country sort of say, ‘Just win, you’re winning so big. Just win, come home,’"

The media has long since bent the knee, so they’re not going to touch this with a ten foot pole. We’d all love to see someone - anyone - call him out on this, with cameras everywhere. If he replies with a juvenile insult, push back. Call him out on it again. Hell probably soil himself and then yell at everyone to leave the room. Who cares? Don’t let up. We all know he’s trying to ruin the country, may as well make him admit it out of frustration.

ImmediateEar6662 Apr 2, 2026 +19
I'll drop this here.... My father in law is MAGA hiding behind being independent. He is staunchly pro trump. We have agreed to absolutely not discuss politics, it's bad. His SOLE news source is Fox. He claims to research, but that consists of "ok Google how many illegals did Ice arrest?". When we argue he just cries "fake news fake news". This started when there was a recording of the orange faced menace bragging about groping young pageant ladies. I asked him as the father of two daughters how could he support this ass hat? First of all my daughter's aren't in pageants, second that's all fake. That was created by liberals as a smear. You can't talk to them period. They are totally brain washed. What's even better is when he makes some stupid argument about something Trump did that he thought was good, he'll follow up with "and I researched it!" Remember "ok Google"? There's just such a chasm between MAGA and reality. These folks can't see the forest for the trees!
19
idoma21 Apr 2, 2026 +6
I empathize. My dad went down the Fox propaganda hole—but he LOVED to argue. Eventually he’d get to his Fox speaking points and I would refute them. He’d either relent or say that he would “have to look at it.” Then the next argument, it would be like starting all over again. I read something about how Fox’s goal is to be the first opinion the older people hear on topics, which makes it very difficult to change their minds. I absolutely believe that now. My neighbor was also very pro-Trump. She said she would commit suicide if Harris won. The past six months have been such a shit show that she won’t even discuss politics now. Not al conservatives are MAGA and not all MAGA are the same, but there is a percentage who see Trump’s failures very clearly. I think how much it directly impacts them is the deciding factor.
6
mtn_doo_codebrown Apr 2, 2026 +19
The crazy thing is, he speaks so openly about this shit because he thinks stealing oil, being a king, and spending money on wars is a GOOD thing. Since this is stuff he is interested in, he thinks EVERYONE is interested in these things. "We will bomb them back to the stone age." He says that like it's a good thing. They didn't do shit to us, nobody outside of Israel is asking you to do this. F****** swine.

>I would prefer that, but people in the country sort of say, ‘Just win, you’re winning so big. Just win, come home,’” Trump said in the speech. Tells me 2 things: 1. Whoever is briefing trump on what the country thinks of him is clearly soothing his ego. trump is despised by the majority of the country, and they can't let that hurt the manchild's fragile snowflake ego 2. They really talk to trump like a toddler holding a loaded AK47. "ok sweetie, you are winning so big! Just put the gun down and come over to mommy. Mommy loves her big strong w*****! Look at this a golden trophy, wouldnt you rather have this than that gun? Just 'win' by putting down the gun and you can have the trophy!"
