Trumps net woth up 4 BILLION in a year. That's all you need to know. They are all in on it, fricking disgusting.

I know you mean their wealth, but with that phrasing I can't help but imagine some Dune-esque "rendered for their water" scenario, where everything of value is extracted from their bodies.

Even if the Supreme Court protects Trump when he’s gone, that doesn’t extend to his family. The new DOJ staff when he’s gone needs to actually prosecute everyone they can to send a message that future violators will be hit with charges
85
TinyMachine6735 Mar 24, 2026 +57
You know that he will just pardon everyone before he leaves office, right? That's a problem right there. There should be no presidential pardon system.

Pardons won't cover civil offenses. They might be protected from criminal prosecution, but a civil forfeiture won't be protected by a pardon.

If you want detailed descriptions of how the U.S. government is now a pay for play operation check out Liz Oyer on YouTube. She's the former pardon attorney for the D.O.J. and she watches out for corruption and abuse of power in the Trump administration and acts of corruption by Trump himself.

They rewarded her years of service and dedication to justice by having security e***** her out of the building. She has good reason to be negative about all things Trump.

Another thing: These people are absolutely not anonymous on those networks. They absolutely can figure out who is doing this stuff. They're just blocking any investigation into it. The way the system works, they can't be totally anonymous, because the system needs to be able to attribute who's money is who's. So, engineers can figure who is doing the insider trading with out too much issue.

Someone recently mentioned to me about Microsoft facing an anti-trust lawsuit I think in the 90s over trying to ship Windows with Internet Explorer pre-installed, because that was seen as such a gross violation of competition laws that it was worth a proper legal intervention to prevent them doing it. I think about that a lot now and just how far we've fallen that I feel like there's whole companies now where the entire point is to just corner some kind of market and then deliberately make it an absolute shit-show for their own profit, and that's just A-ok, no one with any real power cares any more.

In addition to the half a billion in oil, someone also bet $1.5 Billion on the S&P going up like a rocket... 15 minutes before the fake-twitter post that made it do exactly that. One of his billionaire buddies was told what was about to happen, in exchange for a healthy kickback, no doubt. Is it illegal? Absolutely. What's the SEC or the FTC going to do about it? Absolutely nothing. Of course.

Eh time will tell on this one. There is a storm brewing. People are fed up with the rampant corruption. I will not say it’s a guarantee, but I can see a world in which billionaires are fined for their ill gotten gains in massive landmark cases. Companies are split up and sold off, and we have a massive redistribution of wealth. I think if it comes down to the people rising up or a democratic led government ignoring their benefactors, they’ll choose to save their own skin. The Epstein class will fall. The question is will any of us be alive to see it.

Rule of law is important. At some point investors will start pulling money from the US scam markets and put them everywhere else
1306
Stereo_Jungle_Child Mar 24, 2026 +579
It more likely that investors will join in the corruption and just pay insiders for info so they can join the scam until they ride the whole system into the ground and everything falls apart. The worst part about this is that the people who are doing this aren't even a little bit afraid of being caught and punished. When the cops are dirty, the crooks don't have to worry.
579
eskimospy212 Mar 24, 2026 +209
Short term maybe but long term no. All this insider trading relies on money that's not in on the scam coming in to be scammed. If US markets gain a reputation for being fraudulent that non-scam money dries up.
209
npsage Mar 24, 2026 +33
You are correct but you have to remember that thanks to non-stop slashing of social safety nets (such as social security) and the doing away of various pension programs (both in the public and private workforce) every pay period new money is dumped into the market by those who are “investing for retirement” who are more or less forced to accept they might be today’s victims of “….and it’s gone!” Their only other choice is to just sticking all their cash is savings; where inflation will eat it up. The modern stock market with its focus of the only important thing is next quarter means the only winning move is to not play the game; but not playing just means you lose a different game.

Traders placed nearly half a billion dollars in bets on falling oil prices just 15 minutes before President Trump’s announcement of “productive” talks with Iran sent prices tumbling. “It’s hard to prove causality . . . but you have to wonder who would have been relatively aggressive at selling futures at that point, 15 minutes before Trump’s post,” one market strategist told the Financial Times of the transactions. Roughly 6,200 Brent and West Texas Intermediate contracts traded between 6:49 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. on Monday, with unusually large bets in the oil futures market, worth roughly $580 million. The trades seemed reminiscent of an anonymous bet on Polymarket in January that saw one lucky user win $436,000 by betting on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s ouster just hours before he was captured by U.S. forces. On Monday, the trades came just minutes before Trump took to Truth Social to declare that he was postponing his threatened strikes on Iran, an announcement that caused oil prices to fall and stock futures to jump. “My gut from watching markets for the last 25 years is this is really abnormal,” one unnamed portfolio manager told the FT. “It’s Monday morning, there’s no important data today, there aren’t any Fed speakers you’d want to front run. It’s an unusually large trade for a day with no event risk . . . Somebody just got a lot richer.” Read the full story, [here](https://www.thedailybeast.com/traders-made-huge-bets-15-minutes-before-trumps-major-war-u-turn/).

My hunch is that the majority of congresspeople represent constituents who are tired of Trump. Demand that they impeach him. If that doesn't work, throw them all out, burn the whole system down. It's not like Chuck Shummer wields a bazooka, his power comes from you the people.
41
bookwormdrew Mar 24, 2026 +100
Unfortunately there's still a lot of Trump supporters who think everything he's doing is the best thing that's ever happened to America. Like, way more than you'd realize. Facebook comments on anything ICE or Iran war in my area (midwest) is like 75% people saying Trump is amazing and they're so glad he's keeping us safe. And then there's just conservatives in general who don't care what he does, or maybe they are getting tired of it, but he's still a Republican and that's better than Democrats being on control.
100
tmountain Mar 24, 2026 +51
He's at 38% approval with 31% representing the floor, as Pugh Research shows that 31% of populations across 24 nations studied support authoritarian regimes. For this stage of his term, he has very low approval and is underwater on all of his signature issues. You can't base your judgements on what you see on Facebook, as it's highly algorithmically driven with a vested interest in supporting right-wing leadership.

The congresspeople stopped holding townhalls because it resulted in their constituents yelling at them and telling them to ditch Trump. The representatives, once in office, do not listen to their constituents. They can make a lot more money in the short term sucking Trump's d***, rather than being a good politician and that represents the people. America runs on screwing each other over for a quick buck.
29
kieranjackwilson Mar 24, 2026 +45
American politics are really difficult to understand from a foreign perspective. Essentially the way it works is that our politics are designed in a way that popular opinions do not matter. Everything is based on getting the right votes, not the right number of votes. That makes it easier to use money to manipulate politics because all you need is an effective strategy and you can beat out disorganized popular movements. On top of that, low level politics don’t pay well, and higher level politics usually require party support. That means the kind of people that make it to the highest level tend to be quick to abandon their principles if money is dangled. Then finally you have the constituency which is the victim of poor civic education, and high financial stress. This leads to little to no independent research, making the media (which is largely owned by a handful of malicious billionaires) an extremely strong propaganda tool. Shy of mass starvation, I really don’t know if anything can redirect this empire.

“Throw them all out, burn the whole system down” ok what building are you setting on fire? Who do you plan to kill? How effective do you think you’d be before you get killed or imprisoned for life? Do non-Americans *genuinely* wonder why “waiting four years for it to end” is the most common philosophy? I know it’s easy to dunk on this country but use your head for 5 f****** seconds

Right, the United States has roughly 350 million people living in it. It's roughly the same size as Europe. It's not as simple as marching down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and waving signs around. So many people give blanket advice with zero details on how to actually effect change. Non-violent protests are probably the best option for toppling dictatorships, and there are lots of those happening around the country (i.e., no kings, etc). A general strike would be a really powerful tool, but it requires massive coordination and participation to work, and many people are in financially precarious situations which introduces additional challenges.

brycedriesenga Mar 24, 2026 +6
Agree with you! Also wanted to mention, I believe the phrase is generally "effect change".

Nothing is happening because Trump is a reflection of what the ugly part of America truly is. Full stop. Things "on the ground" here are much different than what is represented in media, especially on Reddit. Without making a very long post...most people simply just don't care as long as it isn't happening to them. You'd be disgusted to know the lengths to which some heinous shit is normalized in American society, and speaking out against it makes people *very* uncomfortable. Just look at the replies you are getting. Also the education system here is bad. Just......bad.

L O L “power comes from you the people” Our govt has been taken hostage by people that don’t care about “normal people” issues. They work for the owners and donors aka the Epstein class. They sure as hell aren’t going to get into a fight about it because then they lose funding and get ousted by the next person willing to sell their soul to the rulers of our country. They spend most of their time fundraising instead of actually working on fixing social issues. Until we have our own version of the French Revolution, it will just continue until AI is the only thing working and we’re all gonna have to survive without a livable wage (which we already don’t have federally).

klineshrike Mar 24, 2026 +5
The issue is everyone keeps pretending like this isn't America now. But it is. The people who are reasonable are much less a majority than I think anyone understands. The population here really is made of up people who really are that stupid, selfish, and gullible.

Meet_James_Ensor Mar 24, 2026 +13
Chuck Schumer is not in charge of the Senate, he does not currently have much power. He and his party are in the minority. They can give speeches and slow down various votes but, they can't impeach the president. Congresspeople from red districts are still afraid of voter backlash from crossing Trump.
13
GardenGnomeOfEden Mar 24, 2026 +21
We can't just oust him without potentially facing the military, federal agencies, police, ICE, etc. No one wants to throw the first stone and be the first to get machine-gunned. And he can't be removed the regular political way because too many people in the government are busy protecting him so they can continue fleecing the American people.
21
MyNameIsRay Mar 24, 2026 +16
Theres no viable mechanism to oust him when the majority of voters want this. Even if we did, all his loyalists are still in place, and Vance would carry the torch, so nothing really changes.

Sure, let me make a few phone calls and we'll get it figured out by EOD.
15
robodrew Mar 24, 2026 +9
It simply doesn't work that way in the US. We don't have a parliamentary system. We don't have snap elections. The only thing voters can do is vote for the opposition during mid term and presidential elections, and vote out the representatives and senators who aren't holding him accountable via impeachment and removal. There is literally NOTHING else to be done short of civil war.

How is this a confrontation? Do any of your staff writers or editors know how to craft a headline without the ridiculous hyperbole?

Literally gambling with the lives of our troops. Are you happy now, MAGAts?
32
kagamiseki Mar 24, 2026 +11
Not just gambling with lives, many people don't realize they're also stealing from the portfolios of common people. The money they "win" from these "bets" isn't coming from the vague "stock market". It's coming from people all over who are invested, whether directly through stocks, or indirectly through ETFs. They're indirectly siphoning value from people's life savings and retirement accounts. Oh, and they're also siphoning money from peoples' retirements by "borrowing" social security funds. But that's a different issue among many

He's been manipulating the market the entire time to line his friends pockets. What do you think the tariffs are about? Announce a tariff and tank the market, give your friends a few days to buy in, announce you are lifting the tariffs, all your friends can now sell what they bought when you tanked the market. It's blatantly obvious what he's doing.
17
neodiodorus Mar 24, 2026 +14
Nothing new. We had weekends last year when he even wrote "time to buy" and even congratulated openly those who made explicitly stated sums over the weekend. They are not even hiding it. They have been consistently doing it for almost 1.5 years - look at the timing of the big announcements, the timing of the TACOing, and so on... and by now they are deliberately stating false nonsense then retracting (just some days ago the opening of the straight then the post got deleted and so on).

This trade wasn't just a one-off, random, "whisper" once situation. It was the act of a consolidated, organized network of billionaire criminals who have been doing this for a long time. This is what they do. This is who they are. This is how they have operated their entire lives. Epsteinians are life-long, sadistic, megalomaniacal satanist opportunists who kill, steal, r***, lie and murder like the rest of us snack, watch TV, browse the internet & brush our teeth. And they will keep doing it. At every opportunity. And you will do nothing about it. No one will stop it. No one will do anything. It will go on. And you will forget about it. And I will forget about it. And everyone will just forget about it. And they will get away with it. Like they always do.

I actually think it's less about friends of friends profiting and more about the Trump administration manipulating the markets for political gain. I think they saw the markets tanking to start the week and said we need a two step approach. In addition to a presidential tweet that they will try to retcon to be true later they need buy pressure on equities and sell pressure on oil. The money could have come from Scott Bessant directly out of the Treasury for all we know.

Investors will lose confidence in US markets eventually and start pulling their money out for more reliable investments. Trump is notoriously short sighted, selfish and blinded by greed so of course he is betting on being long gone by the time his corruption catches up with all of us.

Hey morons of Reddit. The Iran war is a money maker, a grift. You know that right? Trump, his family, his friends, his billionaires, his cabinet, his Republican Congress are making a fortune off this “war”. Every decision is intentional, and always has been. Remember his first term? Stocks would be traded based on his tweets. This isn’t new. And more than half the country chose this, they wanted this. They are loving every minute of his cruelty and grifting is just a side effect they are fine with. This is now the USA, it’s who we became and it’s how we will be for generations to come. You’re welcome, a CA voter who’s vote has never meant a damn thing in any presidential election, but I still voted for Harris because I’m not an idiot.
