This is how you lose international credibility in a weekend. If the U.S. President announces a ceasefire plan to the world, and then his own White House denies it exists, why would any world leader sit down at a table with us? It makes the U.S. look uncoordinated and chaotic. We’re essentially "Ghosting" the entire Middle East while claiming we’re the ones bringing the peace.

The US hasn't had credibility in Iran for a long time. After 9/11, Iran actually gained a lot of sympathy for Americans and the government actually aided the US, and there was even an internal power struggle between the reformers and the hardliners, and relations between Iran and the west was genuinely tjawing. And then Bush called Iran an axis of evil, and the pro reform side lost all credibility. And Iran literally used to have a functioning, albeitow stability democracy, before the west orchestrated a coup against the democratically elected government and and reimposed the shah's authority, breaking the credibility of democracy in Irafor generations. To this day, the biggest argument against democracy in the region isn't actually in support of theocracy, but out of fear that a weaker government wouldn't be able to resist the west, and the hypocrisy of western democracies/that western democracies can't be trusted. Its also no coincidence that the young people only started turning back to democracy now, the first generation of young adults who largely grew up after 9/11 rather than during it.
Now trump's attacks weren't actually as bad for pro democracy sentinents in Iran as unlike the other 2 examples, this only polarized support. Pro status quo people feel justified by this and are now really afraid of a hostile takeover by the west. Pro overtake the current government people feel emboldened by this as the Iranian government is less able to stop protests right now. The reformists who wanted to fix the current system and make it democratic have been completely pushed out of the system and now either join the pro overthrow side or the pro status quo side, generally leaning towards the latter because of fears of syrianization

Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse. Do you really think that Trump himself is being gaslit? Or are they showing him the pretty pictures because they're a bunch of cowardly sycophants who are afraid of what might happen to them if they don't tell him what he wants to hear?
I know that the end result is the same, but the root cause is very different. If Trump's being gaslit, he's not in charge and we need to identify who is and direct protests in that direction. If Trump's surrounded by sycophants, he's in still in charge and still worth our energy.

And that’s for those who *want to know*.
I get that a lot of liberals still go along with the whole “they’re stupid buffoons who don’t know what they’re doing lol taco” thing, but really when looking at it through the prism of they’re deliberately being as incompetent as possible in order to hurt our society and standing in the world and to consistently mislead and exhaust the public, it makes a lot more sense and you can’t deny their success at achieving these objectives.

Post title extremely misleading. I loathe this administration and this woman but:
“I saw a 15-point plan that was floated in the media. I would caution reporters in this room from reporting about speculative points or speculative plans from anonymous sources. The White House never confirmed that full plan. There are elements of truth to it, but some of the stories I read were not entirely factual,” she said.
She's saying guessing the outline of the plan or reporting on it has been inaccurate, not that it doesn't exist. Do I believe anything Trump says? No. Flipside I'm pretty tired of these kinds of headlines. Just report on the regular lying, don't stretch it.

Her comments appeared to cast doubt on whether any such plan exist,"
She said, by their own quote, that there were "elements of truth" to it but that some reporting was "not entirely factual". That, in absolutely no way, casts doubt on whether a plan exists, just says some media reporting on it is incorrect.
This is a perfect example of modern, shitty journalism.

Wdym? Trump literally said he had a 15 point plan.
He’s either lying or delulu
This is on Trump. Not the journalists

She’s probably trying to say one of the 15 listed points are incorrect so we should ignore the whole list, especially now that it’s been rejected

There was never a list.
He said points 1, 2 and 3 were ‘keeping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon’
Lies. He’s just making it up. Maybe he thinks there should be a 15 point plan.

It's a war, it's not a war.
Iran's nuclear program was obliterated last summer, but the objective of the war/not-war is to obliterate Iran's nuclear program.
Iran was an immanent threat but has a weak military defense, no active nuclear program and the US navy/Air Fore obliterated them in a few hours.
It's not the job of The National Security Advisor to determine if Iran was an immanent threat.
The Strait of Hormuz is not closed (there is just some shooting at ships) but Iran must open the Strait. But it's not our problem. It's good for American oil producers.
The US doesn't need or want the assistance of allies, but why aren't our allies (who we have insulted, threatened and bullied for over a year) helping us. They are cowards.
The Trump Administration is in negotiations with Iran, but is not talking to Iran.
Iran used Tomahawk missiles to blow up a girls school, which was a legitimate military target for the US, except that it was the Israelis.
There are clear objectives and a plan to achieve them. It will be very quick, possibly months, maybe September. It will end when Trump feels it in his bones.
It won't / will require boots on the ground.
The war/not-war was Trumps idea, Pete Hegseth's idea, but Netanyahu forced their hand.
US offered a 15 point plan to end war/not-war. There is no 15 point plan. We negotiate with bombs.
All very clear.

That's possible but it's also much more likely that the regime is just lying and there was a plan but it was rejected and they've decided to go with their usual bullshit
It's a very well known, and easily provable, fact that Trump and most of the sociopath scumbags in his regime lie and twist the truth all the time

She should really start keeping up to date on what her boss is saying and not. Said "anonymous source" was her own boss in front of various reporters. She's giving Iraq's former Minister of information some hefty competition. Comical Ali. Known for denying US's 2003 invasion of Bagdad even while coalition forces were actively taking over the city bit by bit.

This constant shifting and inconsistency from the White House is why it would be difficult for Iran to trust any deal. How would they know if Trump would renege?
This is probably a reason why Trump is forced to go to war. He is too untrustworthy for peace.
