Unfortunately, yeah. Thank SCOTUS on 1 July 2024, Trump v. United States.
https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/23-939_e2pg.pdf
That is the so-called kingmaker decision, where the Supreme Court, in an opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts, decided that the President cannot face legal repercussions for "official actions" performed while in office.
If the blood just drained from your face because you are having difficulty wrapping your head around the ghastly scope of how the courts are supposed to make the decision about whether a Presidential action was "official" or "unofficial," the liberal minority of justices echoed your horror during oral arguments.
So, no, unless there is a new Constitutional amendment as soon as the new President is sworn in that explicitly recants the Supreme Court's opinion, even the admission of an illegal behavior is insufficient to charge the President with criminal behavior according to the currently standing legal framework conjured from the Roberts court's ass.
Now, the inverse of this is that the next President could also order and they'd be in the clear, legally, according to SCOTUS's decision.
They won't, of course. This administration is going to get away with all of it, because when the Dems win power back they will tie their own hands behind their backs and, as is tradition, put in their ceremonial blindfolds.
Anyway, f*** the Roberts court!

If the President is not allocated that responsibility by the Constitution, then it's not an official act of the President, it's just a crime committed by the person serving as the current President.

The system is broken. The judiciary is a failed institution with no enforcement power. There is no mechanism to hold the president to account if he decides to continue an illegal action. There are US martials, but I don't see that as viable.

Maga is a result of Christians being unchristian, not the cause. She said he's the most corrupt President and administration in US history but she doesn't care because he's "saving the country." It seems like the next step in normalizing further corruption so things like the rule of law don't matter as the ends justify the means. It's a recipe for the destruction of the America that serves its citizens.

The White House posted and then rushed to delete an hour-long recording of an event with President Donald Trump that captured him lashing out at the Supreme Court after justices signaled expressed skepticism about his birthright citizenship case.
The president privately hosted a group of MAGA pastors and religious allies Wednesday for an Easter luncheon at the White House. Trump made several bonkers remarks during the event, which was never meant to be seen by the public, as the White House quickly deleted the footage from its official pages.
The footage, however, was saved online by Business Insider reporter Bryan Metzger.

It’s ironic because actual kings don’t have much real power these days. Their roles are largely ceremonial (depending on the country). He’s already far more powerful than most kings. But he’s too stupid to realise that.

I think he should be told if that is going to make him angy. This is *serious* and these staff probably need to be removed.

“You know, we’re not supposed to be seduced that way, right? But I am. When someone’s nice to me, I love that person. Even if they’re bad people,” he confessed. “I couldn’t care less. I’ll fight to the end for them.””

It’s 2026. Do they not understand how the internet works? The second that clip aired, it was screen-recorded, turned into a 10-hour loop on YouTube, minted as a "souvenir" on the blockchain, and shared in every group chat in the Midwest. Trying to "delete" a video in the digital age is like trying to take pee out of a swimming pool. Good luck with that.
