Either he's full of shit, or Trump is openly admitting that he took a large bribe...
7973
lurkylurkeroo Mar 25, 2026 +2346
I'm calling the "concepts of a bribe". So it's in his own head. He's thinking they'll pay him off or offer him concessions to end the war. Meanwhile Iran are baffled.
2346
TheCrimsonSteel Mar 25, 2026 +1293
I wonder if he's confusing Iran with Qatar Because he did get a very large gift from a country that has a lot of oil, and it wouldn't shock me if he thinks they're all the same at this point
1293
nosungdeeptongs Mar 25, 2026 +657
Holy f*** maybe you’re right. He’s demented and he thinks Iran gave him the jet.
657
TheCrimsonSteel Mar 25, 2026 +559
Either that or he's making things up At this point he is suffering from a most severe case of cerebral rectal inversion that it's hard to tell which end the c*** is spewing out of Edit - thanks for the award, kind stranger! 2nd edit - Ahhhh! You're all too kind!
559
nosungdeeptongs Mar 25, 2026 +58
you really think the president of the United States would do that? Get in front of the press and lie?
58
TheCrimsonSteel Mar 25, 2026 +63
To lie is to know what is and isn't truth I think he says whatever he thinks is best at the time, and whether or not it is a truth or lie never even crosses his mind
63
MamaDaddy Mar 26, 2026 +1
For quite some time he seems to have believed that he creates truth as he is speaking it. I think this is a Roy Cohn technique. And I think he has forgotten he is doing it now that his dementia is catching up to him. So yes, he probably doesn't know.
1
jfoster0818 Mar 26, 2026 +157
Cerebral rectal inversion… f*** me that’s hilarious, thank you!
157
KlicknKlack Mar 26, 2026 +1
Ah, yes... colloquially known as "Shit for Brains"
1
jfoster0818 Mar 26, 2026 +1
I was thinking “head up your ass”.
1
Gdmf13 Mar 26, 2026 +14
Yup, I’m stealing that one. Hilarious!
14
TheCrimsonSteel Mar 26, 2026 +16
A very candid maintenance manager taught me that one It was also used to refer to management that didn't have a clue. So, it tracks
16
zanderjayz Mar 26, 2026 +1
Iran could have said remember we gave you that jet and he would just believe it.
1
zombiegojaejin Mar 26, 2026 +1
And he thinks the jet is a secret?
1
radioref Mar 26, 2026 +111
Fun fact, that gift is sitting on a temporary closed taxiway at KGVT (Greenville TX) where L3Harris defense systems retrofit facility is. Presumably because they aren’t going to dare let that thing on their secure facility until it’s either forgotten about, or stripped to a shell to make sure it doesn’t have any listening devices on it. I’m not kidding, they have more than enough space for it on their secure facility ramp but it’s like they quarantined it by closing off a critical taxiway and keeping it off the facility grounds. lol. I took a picture of it this weekend… https://imgur.com/AAZcuLp

TreasonTurtle Mar 26, 2026 +1
My bet is on "forgotten about". The Swiss cheese mush in his head is spawning more cavities every day. I'm sure the grifty kids won't, but by that time after it has been just sitting around, whoever is in charge of it can say: "Fine. Come get it. Don't forget to bring your own pilot."
1
TheCrimsonSteel Mar 26, 2026 +27
Oh boy! Makes you wonder, do they move it every so often or what? From what I understand, parking very heavy planes in one spot gets complicated because of the pressure it puts on the runway Worst case, it can actually make divots over time IIRC
27
7evenate9ine Mar 26, 2026 +45
The same way FauxSnooze talks about "Mexican Countries" as if there is more than one.
45
Lynne253 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Well, there's New Mexico. I bet he thinks it isn't a US state.
1
Harbinger2001 Mar 25, 2026 +37
That’s what I think. There have been talks with Qatar about brokering a cease fire and Qatar has offered him a huge bribe as incentive.
37
CobrasMama Mar 26, 2026 +1
Can you imagine being the most powerful person in the world, 80 years old, worth a billion dollars... and *still giving a shit about getting richer*? He's mentally f****** ill.
1
HeartFullONeutrality Mar 26, 2026 +6
This is my headcanon now.
6
-eYe- Mar 25, 2026 +105
He's manifesting a bribe, and telling Iran that the bribe must be BIG and worth a lot of money.
105
Capt-Crap1corn Mar 26, 2026 +1
I think you got it. He's trying to say he'll call off the dogs if they give him enough money.
1
Beginning_Opinion618 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Maybe a really big horse statute
1
unfinishedtoast3 Mar 25, 2026 +100
its Trump's way to signal to Iran that he's OPEN to a bribe
100
MechaD13579 Mar 26, 2026 +1
They told him he has won the Iranian Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes and Ed McMahon will be arriving to award him with a giant check soon, so he need to be sure to wait for the doorbell to ring.
1
timoumd Mar 25, 2026 +12
My suspicion is that he is working with someone they want to lead Iran and they offered some kind of oil deal in exchange for power.
12
Holiday_Reference_46 Mar 25, 2026 +362
Confabulation. Dementia patients have gaps in their memory, so they make shit up and are 100% convinced the shit they just made up is fact.
362
Dog-boy Mar 26, 2026 +1
My Mom fell and broke her leg in the care home she was living in. When staff saw her the next day and asked how she broke it she said she had fallen getting on the bus the previous day. Up until that point much of the staff didn’t think she belonged in a home. That helped them understand she was just good at sounding like she knew what was going on.
1
DreddPirateBob808 Mar 26, 2026 +1
My mum told me I had 2.older brothers from before she was married. It was frighteningly possible and absolutely melted my brain. I had to invest some time in checking it wasn't real (which it wasn't). The utterly fucked up thing is there are things she has told the nurses that are pretty messed up and they just thought she was making them up. No. No those things were real. :/ They never quite looked at her, or me, the same afterwards.
1
Dog-boy Mar 26, 2026 +1
I’m sorry. Some families and some parents are really tough.
1
phalo Mar 26, 2026 +1
This is why these spinless fucks in the cabinet and Congress need to 25th amendment this clown already.
1
ReserveFormal3910 Mar 26, 2026 +1
This coupled with his dumb story about talking about Iran with a previous President. Dude is off his rocker.
1
AI_moderated_failure Mar 26, 2026 +1
It's 100% this. He is extremely transactional but Iran has no interest in talking to the US. They're definitely not going to bother giving Trump any money, they are smarter than that.
1
Leather_Force_9419 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Nah its the big stock market bet we saw before his announcement,  he is admitting it was him. Remember he is a malignant narcissist he cant not brag about this shit
1
Hyperpoly Mar 26, 2026 +1
He didn't need dementia or gaps in his memory to make shit up on the spot his entire life.
1
BaronVonStevie Mar 25, 2026 +112
If Iran really understands Trump, either they have offered him a bribe or they know he’s asking for one.
112
Secret-Chapter-712 Mar 25, 2026 +81
Anyone who “really understands Trump” knows bribing/flattering him is pointless unless his interests already align with yours. He’ll take everything he can get from anyone who will offer it, but when he’s gotten all he can out of that “relationship,” he’ll still do whatever benefits him personally the most in that specific moment, even if it screws over people who bribed/flattered/abased themselves for him.
81
BaronVonStevie Mar 25, 2026 +14
Oh I don’t think Iran should do business with him or even try to. Just be able to show proof that the US President is that dumb and corrupt.
14
Healthy-Caregiver997 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Really ironic when it very well may be Iran that saves the USA.
1
dragon-fence Mar 26, 2026 +1
If you *really* understand Trump, then you know that his interest aligning with yours won’t necessarily get you very far either. He’s too stupid to be appeased by getting what he wants. His viewpoint is very zero-sum. It’s not good enough for him to win, he also needs everyone else to lose. The only way to appease him is to be a spineless sycophant that destroys himself in service to Trump, but even that doesn’t get you any loyalty. He’ll want you to keep destroying yourself until you hit a point where he has no use for you, and then he’ll discard you. The only real way to deal with him is to dominate him like Putin does. You need to have leverage over him so that he wouldn’t dare to cross you. If he’s afraid of you, that’s the closest you get to respect and loyalty.
1
already-taken-wtf Mar 26, 2026 +1
Yeah. After Trump basically killed quite a few family members of the new supreme leader, I wonder how interested they are in negotiations. “The [late] supreme leader was killed with his wife, with his daughter, with his son-in-law and with his daughter’s 14-month-old baby” - The Guardian
1
dragon-fence Mar 26, 2026 +1
Also his whole strategy with Iran seems to be, “we’re going to keep attacking them until they like us.” That doesn’t usually work out so well.
1
Unfair-Ocelot4255 Mar 26, 2026 +1
They suggested he was negotiating with himself which I find hilarious.😂
1
AggressiveAnt7613 Mar 25, 2026 +86
Yep, so its a bribe.. why would he hide it. Or he imagined he got a bribe. Or Iran did something that tipped there strategic efforts and trump really wants to tell people to stroke his ego. Or its a big golden horse.....
86
HerbaciousTea Mar 25, 2026 +90
I don't think he's even competent enough to have extorted a bribe from Iran. I think he WANTS a bribe and he's confabulating, like dementia patients do. Like he did when he got up in the middle of a press conference to look at the his "Ballroom" that doesn't exist.
90
xenogazer Mar 26, 2026 +1
Jesus. There's so much insane shit in the news these days I totally missed that. Did he really
1
Brother_J_La_la Mar 26, 2026 +1
[Oh yeah he did](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UKWJc48JIeM)
1
Upset_Match_3705 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Either that, or he’s taken the mob playbook and made it US foreign policy. Using the US military as enforcers, he can extort countries. Venezuelan oil sale proceeds going to a Trump account in the middle east. Iran can make this all go away. I bet he says sh*t like “Steve and Jared should get a taste. They earned it. Rubio gets nothing … he’s a politician, not one of us.”
1
DTJ20 Mar 26, 2026 +1
It would be hilarious and terrifying if he could be bought with the idea that he got a bribe.
1
jeenyusguuy Mar 25, 2026 +68
I’m more inclined to believe he was talking about the market manipulation that happened that day. You know, when almost $500m was invested to short oil stocks like 10 minutes before he opened his mouth claiming he had a deal coming to open the strait which made oil prices drop.
68
Negative-Actuator371 Mar 26, 2026 +13
definitely. I’m surprised more people aren’t aware of this
13
iikun Mar 25, 2026 +93
I imagined he's talking about the insider trading. Not a gift per se, but his family definitely made a lot of money there.
93
steeplebob Mar 26, 2026 +1
This seems the obvious explanation to me. Simple, on brand, true to his compulsion for grift.
1
DukeOfGeek Mar 26, 2026 +1
And we know someone made a killing off his remarks on oil futures.
1
steeplebob Mar 26, 2026 +1
And he really really wants us to know it was him!
1
Unfair-Ocelot4255 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Which the SEC will not investigate 🤔
1
Joshd30 Mar 25, 2026 +52
He's openly admitting he manipulated the markets and made hundreds of millions. That's the "prize" Iran unknowingly helped facilitate
52
XSinTrick6666 Mar 25, 2026 +68
You mean "another" large bribe ... $400mill airplane already stashed away...
68
Hot_Poetry_6475 Mar 25, 2026 +17
Pre-bugged already.
17
clintgreasewoood Mar 26, 2026 +12
Iran: “We are opening the straight of Hormuz…” Trump:”ah yes a gift to me the world’s premier deal maker” Iran: “to other non hostile nations, that excludes the United States and Israel”. Trump:”zzzzz” Staffer: “Sir, Did you hear that last part”
12
cmm239 Mar 25, 2026 +11
He has absolutely taken bribes
11
sthlmsoul Mar 25, 2026 +9
Or he's in on the massive insider trading scheme?
9
mgr86 Mar 25, 2026 +16
I said it yesterday. He is literally, I expect, talking about the oil trade Monday morning. I’d imagine was the primary beneficiary of thst
16
Lucid_Insanity Mar 26, 2026 +8
I'm assuming it's the huge amount of money him and his buddies are making off insider trading
8
B-Z_B-S Mar 25, 2026 +4855
Trump. Is. Insane. He has dementia and his mental faculties are clearly in sharp decline. The whole thing with the gift makes some sense if you understand that. It's imaginary.
4855
madmanz123 Mar 25, 2026 +357
He's likely in on the insider training of oil stocks, he probably made 100 million doing this shit. He does NOT care about this country.
357
rhinosyphilis Mar 25, 2026 +175
You dropped a few zeros from that number. He’s made billions since they (MAGA) made him president again. They think they’re owning the libs, lol. They’re f****** themselves, and their children for generations instead.
175
HedonisticFrog Mar 26, 2026 +1
He's putting America trillions into debt unnecessarily just to make a few billion. The sheer greed is astounding.
1
madmanz123 Mar 26, 2026 +22
Oh I just meant this latest grift, overall yeah who the hell knows how much.
22
bnelson Mar 25, 2026 +12
This. That was my immediate connection anyway.
12
Commercial-Fix-9916 Mar 25, 2026 +480
Orange Felon has lost his mental stability completely.
480
ecodrew Mar 25, 2026 +129
There's no evidence he ever had any mental stability
129
GhostofZellers Mar 25, 2026 +25
True, but if you go back and look at his campaigning from his first term, that Trump *does* look like a stable genius, in comparison to current Trump.
25
airinato Mar 25, 2026 +52
As if there ever was a difference
52
Biggieholla Mar 25, 2026 +211
I mean he's literally known for taking any and all bribes so no, we don't know it's imaginary.
211
9mac Mar 25, 2026 +122
This could also be him publicly telegraphing that he is expecting a bribe from Iran.
122
Zomunieo Mar 25, 2026 +47
Maybe they could offer him the Hormuz Peace Prize made of highly enriched uranium.
47
madmars Mar 26, 2026 +11
That's genius. Remember when Trump stared into the sun during an eclipse? Because he can't be told anything. Unfortunately a lot of people would die from that plan though, like the Goiania incident.
11
Photomancer Mar 25, 2026 +18
They should just *tell* him that they bribed him. His imagination will do the rest.
18
rhinosyphilis Mar 25, 2026 +11
I really hope they come out and deny this claim in the same way they’ve denied other ridiculous claims he’s made recently
11
stuckinmotion Mar 25, 2026 +25
Yeah but he did say it which greatly increases the odds it's incorrect
25
XSinTrick6666 Mar 25, 2026 +66
Probably Kushner broke him off his cut of oil profits, trading ahead of TACO's Retreat. I mean Kushner and Witkoff are the only 2 who can "see" Trump's invisible Iranian Leader...
66
Gay_Giraffe_1773 Mar 25, 2026 +85
Either that or Iran just bribed Trump a fuckton of money through untraceable backchannels which is why he's all of the sudden talking peace now that the Epstein Files aren't being talked about as much.
85
AnyoneButDoug Mar 25, 2026 +76
He’s pretending he’s won again, he’s trying to make it look like the ball is in his court.
76
Tornare Mar 25, 2026 +32
This. Why is this a question being asked..
32
d_c_d_ Mar 25, 2026 +16
Why would they make it untraceable? Who’s gonna hold him accountable?
16
mechengr17 Mar 25, 2026 +19
There are rumors that Andrew Jackson may be the former president he spoke with about the war...
19
Junior-Gorg Mar 25, 2026 +18
I don’t doubt any of this, but he also lies. He lies a lot.
18
suprahelix Mar 25, 2026 +17
I’d get a push notification every time Biden mumbled a word, but Trump is melting in front of us and the media is scrambling to make him look like he has a plan
17
ckglle3lle Mar 25, 2026 +15
The clip of him describing it really gives it away too. He's clearly just coming up with it as he goes.
15
ladyofcake Mar 25, 2026 +14
Many dementia patients don't lose the ability to tell the truth. His lies have nothing to do with mental decline. Trump always has been an evil liar.
14
RoseCityHooligan Mar 25, 2026 +14
He fell asleep watching Fox News, they were talking about Iran. Dreamed he got a gold statue of himself and got excited and doesn’t know how to tell what’s real and what’s not anymore.
14
CountOnBeingAwesome Mar 25, 2026 +7
Remember when it was illegal to accept expensive gifts from foreign governments?
7
goodnewzevery1 Mar 26, 2026 +5
“A foreign adversary gifted me an item of tremendous value” is not something any sane president would say, ever. Even low level gov employees would get skewered for that kind bribery and corruption.
5
Oceanbreeze871 Mar 26, 2026 +5
Imagine the media reaction if President Biden said any of this…
5
14shakey Mar 25, 2026 +6
I think there's been a slight decline. Hes always been really fuckin dumb.
6
2ManyCatsNever2Many Mar 25, 2026 +4
what makes this even more insane to believe is that as he is clearly declining - there are many continualy doubling down with him. it's not going to end well and all it takes is for a couple rats to leave the ship before they all start fleeing.
4
legenwait Mar 25, 2026 +9
Either its made up to not lose face when he retreats empty handed, or its real and hes keeping it for himself and not handing it over to the country which is corruption
9
ZERV4N Mar 25, 2026 +5
The gift is a ground war that he will use as a pretext to extend his time in office or grab power.
5
T_Shurt Mar 25, 2026 +751
From the article: White House staffers were left baffled by Trump’s claim Tuesday that he had [received a gift from Iran](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-iran-war-oil-hormuz-strait-ceasefire-b2944907.html), about which he then refused to disclose anything further. “They did something yesterday that was amazing, actually. They gave us a present and the present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money,” Trump claimed. “I’m not going to tell you what the present is, but it was a very significant prize, and they gave it to us.” “That meant one thing to me. We’re dealing with the right people,” he concluded. It was “oil and gas related,” he said, and relevant to the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s cryptic remarks even sowed confusion among his own inner circle, with several people close to the White House [telling Politico](https://www.politico.com/newsletters/west-wing-playbook-remaking-government/2026/03/24/a-very-big-present-from-iran-00842689) they were “baffled by the president’s remarks.”
751
johnnycyberpunk Mar 25, 2026 +457
“Iran” gave us (America?) a ‘present’. Worth a lot of money. The same Iran that hasn’t stopped firing missiles and drones at Israel, hasn’t stopped their partial blockade of the Strait, the *same Iran* releasing videos and statements threatening Trump and American interests in the Gulf. Sure Jan.
457
SlinkyAvenger Mar 25, 2026 +117
You bring up a very solid point. Taking Trump's statements at face value, it shows he's fine with Iran continuing the war as long as they pay him off. Unfortunately the media is so stuck on harping about the absurdity of what Trump & co[-conspirators] are saying while they really should f****** roll with it. "Yes, and" them and get them to continue blabbing - just like they should have done with Pam Bondi with the "Dow is over 50k" comment.
117
visssara Mar 26, 2026 +1
The same Iran from this headline: [Mass text in Iran promotes Trump assassination campaign, $25M pledged](https://www.iranintl.com/en/202603256203)
1
MangeurDeCowan Mar 26, 2026 +1
That's probably it. Someone told him that Iran has a bullet with his name on it, and it's worth $25M. He's so stupid that interpreted it as a prize worth lots of money.
1
NoveltyAccountHater Mar 26, 2026 +1
I mean Trump is susceptible to bribes and blackmail. It wouldn't surprise me if Iran personally offered Trump a billion or so (via buying his crypto or DJT stock or just cash to his businesses), open up the strait and stop attacking US allies in the region (except for Israel), if he pulls US support from assisting Israel in their attacks on Iran. It would be much cheaper and safer for them than continued war. Now Israel probably could drop the Epstein blackmail on Trump, but he probably already has a strategy of just call it deepfakes and deny deny deny with Ghislaine willing to back him up.
1
Electronic_Wait_7249 Mar 26, 2026 +106
Sounds like he manipulated the stock market at the suggestion of someone he thinks represents Iran.
106
DandyTheLion Mar 26, 2026 +1
I really think you are on to something here.
1
jolard Mar 26, 2026 +1
the "thinks represents Iran" is the key here I think. I bet Kushner is talking to someone, but is that person in a position to actually enact any deal? If they aren't representing the current power center of Iran, then the entire discussion is probably useless.
1
Attention_Bear_Fuckr Mar 26, 2026 +1
Have you seen the interview between Jon Stewart and Jake Sullivan? Pretty relevant. [(8) Jake Sullivan - The Iran War, Trump, and U.S. Foreign Policy | The Daily Show - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3uGYpPJEGM)
1
CuttlefishExpress Mar 25, 2026 +79
its the video tapes Russia was using to gain leverage over him.
79
AxelNotRose Mar 25, 2026 +40
We swear, they're the only copies. Yup, one of a kind, never duplicated.
40
nosungdeeptongs Mar 25, 2026 +32
Iran sent him the tapes as a threat and Trump was aroused and assumed it was a gift
32
37GreaterThan4547 Mar 25, 2026 +25
This is what Bitcoin does best.
25
eduardonachosupremo Mar 25, 2026 +327
It’s almost like he’s a liar and at this point reporting what he says is just propaganda. Every headline has to have an asterisk to actually be objective. He’s earned it.
327
SirDiego Mar 25, 2026 +53
I mean I could believe that Iran bribed Trump personally with some sort of gift. He's too stupid to understand that he is not supposed to accept it or that it might be bad to mention it if he did.
53
onimush115 Mar 26, 2026 +1
I agree he's likely stupid, but what's scarier is if he's just that brazen. He knows what he's doing is wrong but he also knows there is nothing anyone is going to do about it either. Trump has no plan of going anywhere. At this point I'm convinced he is going to pull some stunt ahead of the midterms. If his save act gets passed they can essentially rig the elections with selective enforcement. I'd it doesn't get passed, I wouldn't put it past him to declare some sort of war powers to halt elections since I doubt we'll be out of Iran by then.
1
E1M1_DOOM Mar 25, 2026 +205
I love the juxtapostion here of trump right in front of a painting of reagan. Thanks a lot reagan. Maga is your legacy.
205
wanderlustcub Mar 26, 2026 +59
Really bookends the journey of two geriatric GOP presidents who are in cognitive decline in their second terms and their “team” doing everything possible to get their BS into law while f****** over the nation. And see how the GOP was pulled down the U.S.
59
_Phil_McCracken_ Mar 26, 2026 +1
The GOP hasn’t been able to elect a decent president since Ike.
1
DarraignTheSane Mar 26, 2026 +1
It could be argued that H.W. Bush was decent, but that's why they got rid of him after one term. They couldn't handle the fact that taxes do indeed have to pay for things.
1
_Phil_McCracken_ Mar 26, 2026 +1
He’s the… least terrible. He did get us into a war in the Middle East and tank the economy.
1
NineTailedFox7 Mar 26, 2026 +1
Just like every other Republican president in the past 30 years
1
rwf2017 Mar 25, 2026 +856
Whatever is attached to "trump is claiming" is 100% bullshit, 100% of the time.
856

Meanwhile ... * [Iran dismisses U.S. ceasefire plan and issues its own counterproposal](https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/iran-dismisses-u-s-ceasefire-plan-and-issues-its-own-counterproposal) > Iran issued its own plan via state TV, which includes a halt to killings of its officials, means to make sure no other war is waged against it, reparations for the war, the end of hostilities and Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. > "No negotiations have happened with the enemy until now, and we do not plan on any negotiations," Iran's foreign minister later told state TV.

Letting Iran claim the Strait of Hormuz from a war Trump started is an absolutely wild outcome. Not like any of us saw this coming though.

We all know that he can't personally keep things given to him in office through official acts, right? It's a clear violation of both the foreign emoluments act AND the foreign gifts and decorations act. Since it's technically property of ALL of us here in the US, can maybe a lawyer with some balls stand up and sue this f***** for violating these acts. I mean, we all have standing, right? Do it.

This "what's mine is mine" mentality is not only unbecoming of the president, but there are actually laws against it. He can't just receive gifts from a foreign agency, let alone one we're actively at war with, without disclosing exactly WHAT it is to the American people. First it was taking HIS classified documents out of the WH, then it was HIS plane gifted from Qatar, now he's getting...what? We have no idea, if it's even a thing, but this guessing gamesmanship has to stop.

this isn’t how any of this stuff works. The president doesn’t get secret gifts from other countries that only he knows about, and the president also isn’t supposed to lie about this stuff like a child. So either he’s openly corrupt or he’s a liar? Cool

Trump's messaging has been erratic. He claims this war is drawing to a close, but he is sending more troops to the region and demanding more funds from the government to fuel operation "epic failure." He claims he had productive talks with Iranian leaders, this was a lie to manipulate the markets. His "winding down" comments are meant to give the illusion of success, but Trump never had a plan for a drawn out conflict and the US hasn't accomplished any of its constantly shifting "objectives." Trump lies to project strength and success where there is weakness, confusion and failure. He lies to protect his already declining ratings (and fragile ego) He lies because he has no coherent strategy. Negotiations aren't "progressing," there are only indications of messages being communicated through intermediaries, and not messages that "talk sense." In fact, Iran is basically demanding that the US surrender, compensate them for damages, recognize Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, and no longer interfere militarily. Does that sound like "talking sense?" At the same time, Trump is sending thousands of more troops to the region, and while these "peace talks" are going on, Israel is bombing Iran's Capital and Iran is responding by attacking US bases in neighboring countries. There's also this: > "In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 futures was bought while $192 million in oil futures was sold.” This occurred just before Trump announced a five day pause on striking Iranian oil infrastructure—not only indicating an obvious case of insider trading, but that Trump's remarks, or lies rather, had one purpose, to soothe markets and enrich whoever had knowledge of Trump's reversal ahead of time. And now a ground invasion is more likely than not. First, because there is no other way to facilitate structural change, permanently cripple Iran's oil production and poach whatever uranium Iran has left. And also because Trump dismissed warnings about Strait of Hormuz closures and didn't prepare for these eventualities in the Persian Gulf. Iranians have no power to mount resistance, but Trump told them earlier in the conflict to "rise up" so he could wipe his hands clean of the bloody aftermath of a war he started while he desperately searched for an offramp. He called on Iranians to march to their deaths because he had no strategy. The violent regime has not "changed," the people are far from being "liberated." To that point, US troops are dead; we're killing noncombatants and children; bombing hospitals and schools, heritage sites, and civilian infrastructure. Trump and his cabinet's messaging about the pretext for this war has been wildly inconsistent, and now the US government is demanding that the media report on the war positively or else risk losing their licenses. So much for the free press. Trump's "plans" are indiscernible and Iran refuses to "unconditionally surrender." Instead, the regime has named Ayatollah's pigheaded son as his successor, who is just as much a hardliner as his father and who we've managed to radicalize all the more by killing his entire family. He also has deep sway with the IRGC while at least 20% of Iranians still support the Islamic Republic. Most Americans don't understand why we're at war with Iran in the first place. And what have we actually accomplished? The oppressive, theocratic regime remains intact. The war is expanding and conflict is being reignited between forces like Israel and Hezbollah. This war will destabilize the middle east, cause years of tumult and violence in the region, trigger more terrorist attacks and proxy battles, even civil war. Meanwhile, Iran's nuclear program NEVER posed an imminent threat to our country according to all US intelligence on the matter. Tulsi Gabbard Testified before congress that "the Intelligence Community continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon." Even a top US counterterrorism official JUST RESIGNED, stating, "Iran never posed an imminent threat." Nevertheless, the US/Israel are bombing Iran with no regard for the civilians they're supposed to be "liberating." Estimates show that between 1,300-3,000+ civilians have already died due to this war; including 160 CHILDREN at the hands of the US. Residents of Tehran are terrified as bombings intensify and draw closer to their homes. Iranians doubt whether "regime change" is realistic and whether this war is even worth it. We've also angered our middle east and European allies and squandered whatever good will we might have had left. Trump has shown no concern for Iran's neighboring countries, especially those sustaining retaliatory strikes while shutting in oil production. Not to mention his petty contempt towards western allies who are hesitant to get dragged into another open-ended war. Trump Ignored lessons about what happens when we try "regime change" in the middle east. He launched us into another foreign war under false pretenses without consulting with Congress or our allies, and a war with little to no support from the American people. A war that was always one of choice, not of necessity.

My theory is it’s simply that Iran allowed that India tanker to go through, but Trump’s brain shorted out and he couldn’t remember what it was. Just that something big had happened that pleased him, and what’s left of his brain confabulated the details because that’s how dementia patients function.

"The “present” US President Donald Trump said Iran had given Washington was allowing several fuel tankers to pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz, The Times of Israel reported, citing a senior Arab diplomat and a US official. Trump said on Tuesday that Iran had given the United States a “present” worth a “tremendous amount of money,” without providing details, but described it as related to oil and gas and the strategic waterway. The report cited an unnamed US official as saying that when Washington began passing along messages to Iran through mediators over the weekend in order to test whether a diplomatic off-ramp to the war was possible, it asked Tehran to make a gesture of goodwill. In response, Iran agreed to allow a number of fuel tankers that weren't tied to the US or Israel through the Strait of Hormuz in order to help calm global markets, the report added citing an an unnamed Arab official."
