Who else is watching Margo’s Got Money Troubles?

Posted by Mr_Perfectly_UnFine

Just saw episode 4 and I think it is a good show. Great ensemble with Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer and Nick Offer an. Writing is good too! Who else is watching? Are you enjoying it so far?

I'm enjoying it, especially once they brought Offerman in.

I’ve enjoyed watching it for multiple reasons but I had to laugh during the most recent episode because what isn’t Nicole Kidman in these days?!?!

I see Nicole every time I watch a movie at AMC 😂. I am a-lost so typically go 4 times a month

I’m into it so far, Elle Fanning quietly carries half the show. The tone shift in episode 3 sold me. Worth giving it at least two episodes, imo.

I kinda decided to stick with it after ep 3 too!

Yeah I didn’t like the first episode. Just so many bad decisions she was making lol

Elle is really making her mark as a talented actress

With The Great, and Predator Badlands. I’d say she’s made a mark!

GTFO... That's her in *Badlands*? Man she looks different with short hair, I just didn't put that together or thought it was the sister.

what’s the tone shift? haven’t watched but I don’t mind spoilers
2
mateushkush 1 day ago +5
I didn’t see much of a tone shift, just that the story progresses.

Thanks for the heads up, watch at least 3 episodes. It's on my list of shows to watch when hunny bunny is at work. Unfortunately, that list is growing faster than I can get to it.

Really enjoying it. Elle Fanning is amazing, and I want more scenes with Pfeiffer and Offerman. I also love the roommate.

I read the book (and loved it) I think this is such a good adaptation

Can’t decide if I want to start the book or finish the show first. I’ve been looking for my next read and so far I’ve been enjoying the series.

I didn’t enjoy the book much, the series is much better. Just my opinion, it’s obviously popular and well liked by plenty.

She’s topless in most episodes

balasoori 1 day ago -12
Normally, I would mind this, but she looks like a teenager, which means I usually fast-forward , i know she's in her 20s, but still

It’s part of the plot it isn’t just for shock value

I am enjoying it. Even the nudity seems to fit unlike most shows today

The pilot is very solid. Then objectively the series holds up thanks to a great cast (Fanning and Offerman above all). And with this cast there was probably room to make everything more concentrated in a 100' film. But it's a laudable attempt.

I watched the first episode but it didn’t do anything for me.

The first two episodes have Surf Dracula syndrome.

I'd definitely call the first ep the weakest so far.

I couldn’t even make it through the episode. I didn’t understand why I was supposed to care about any of the characters

I stopped and ended up going back. Glad I did! I gets really good in ep 3! Nick Offerman BRINGS it!! Fun story. Can’t wait for episode 4!!

I resubscribed to Apple TV so I could watch it as I love the cast and had previously listened to Elle Fanning narrate the audiobook for the novel it was adapted from. I’m hooked

I think it's good. It addresses an issue that I'm sure many young women find themselves dealing with. I'm down with it.

heavysunshine 1 day ago +2
I'm liking it, though as a mom who had BFing issues and a colicky baby, there's been a lot that was triggering. I was literally crying during one of the episodes, and I don't know if it was for the character or for me. Anyway, +1 for authenticity. Edit: typo

I’ve been enjoying it so far. Elle Fanning is (or has been already) one to watch, she’s going to have a great career. Good dynamics between the leads and it’s been fun seeing Michelle Pfeiffer do her thing.

We really like it

It's good but I low key hate the actual storyline, so I guess they're doing a good job. It's frustrating to watch someone clearly intelligent and thoughtful make the worst decisions possible at every turn.

I'll watch it in a few months when I have a lot of Apple TV stuff to cram into that month lol

I begrudgingly started it because apple kept shoving it down my throat and now I’m absolutely obsessed.

Honestly had no idea what it was about. It was 50%interesting. Then ellie basically made me feel like this was a European show (n*** all the time without any issue at all). Once I stopped even noticing and just paying attention to the story and humor, it all lined up. It worked.

On episode 3 and while I like the show I'm infuriated by how dumb Margo is. It's honestly astounding.

i just watched the fourth episode and so far so good. i read the book few months ago, it was fun but not the best. i think show is going much better than the book. maybe because it has nick offerman in it.

We are enjoying it so far and most of the main characters are likeable and compelling  it was sold to us by a friend as a comedy and it’s definitely not been that. Much more on the drama side and the first few episodes have the characters going through the emotional wringer.  After the latest episode we can see how it’s going to develop the lighter hearted comedy side but yeah the first few episodes were really misold to us!

It has nudity courtesy of Elle Fanning. But it isn't s*** nudity (especially later) If you've ever had to care for a wife and a newborn, it's nothing surprising.

The pace is a little frustrating sort of like murderbot. It feels like episodes are too short, especially now that we are on single episodes after the three episode premiere. Elle seems like she's just playing Catherine from The Great to me too.

You’re probably being downvoted because you said you “binged it one week”, even though the show’s only halfway done.

It's weird I got down voted on my opinion of a show to the question posted "who is watching this show?" 🤔

It’s funny to me as someone from Orange County hearing them pronounce city’s incorrectly Calling Huntington Beach “hunt-ting-ton” instead of “hunnington “ and Costa Mesa as “Costs MEHsa” instead of “Costa MAYsa” gave me a big laugh because it’s obvious these people are reading the script verbatim. It’s a good show though and entertaining.

Wrong-Violinist5686 2 days ago -20
It bothers me that Michelle Pfeiffer is 67 playing a 30 year old.
-20
Fritanga5lyfe 1 day ago +7
But she is not playing a 30 year old, she is playing like a mid 50s year old
7
StarWars_and_SNL 1 day ago +3
Um what? Have they ever stated Pfeiffer’s character’s age? I believe her character is probably supposed to be in her 50s but let’s not act like her presence is mathematically impossible. Women can get pregnant into their 40s. Let’s say she had Margot when she was 42. Margot is 20. So 62 years is not a stretch at all.
