I love head of lettuce. The Brits had the best metaphor. Anyhow good luck getting this guy confirmed. Exactly what authority will all empty District Ag offices have now?

In July 2025, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche conducted extensive interviews with convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell at a Florida federal prison to gather information on Jeffrey Epstein’s associates. Blanche, formerly a personal lawyer for Donald Trump, faced scrutiny over the interviews and for moving Maxwell to a minimum-security facility, with critics suggesting a "corrupt deal" regarding commutation.

He’s a pedophile protector that moved Ghislaine Maxwell to a cushy low security prison in exchange for her not ratting out Trump

Trump's former personal lawyer who has massive conflicts of interest. Chief among them being the fact that he was Trump's personal lawyer. But seeing that this administration is plagued by rampant cronyism, corruption and favoritism, what's one more serious ethical violation? Add it to the list. And so much for "merit based" hiring huh? There's also his role in trying to orchestrate a cover up with Ghislaine Maxwell by offering her limited immunity and dangling the possibility of a pardon in front of her in exchange for public statements absolving Trump and a transfer to a minimum security, cushy prison to facilitate her cooperation with the government. This is the same Maxwell that Trump expressed sympathy for during a press conference after she was arrested in 2020: > “I just wish her well, frankly. I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is." Blanche was tasked with interviewing Maxwell as part of the justice department's cover Trump's ass initiative. It is *highly* unusual for the second highest ranking DOJ official to meet personally with a criminal convicted of conspiracy and sex trafficking of minors. The DOJ offered her "proffer immunity;" allowing her to speak openly without fear of her statements being used against her in the future. This type of immunity is usually followed by a cooperation deal. The stated goal of the meetings was to "gather information" related to Epstein's crimes. But considering the timing, the optics, the lack of transparency, the limited immunity, etc, the real goal of these meetings went beyond merely "information gathering." This was *clearly* an effort to negotiate for Maxwell's cooperation and control what information she might "spill" to the public. Blanche is just another fervent loyalist who will jump when Trump says jump, who will submit to Trump's every deranged and autocratic whim without question. This may also come as a surprise to MAGA, but the DOJ is supposed to operate *independently* of the president, not as his personal legal arm.

>Trump's former personal lawyer ... He may be on the US payroll but he's still Trump's personal lawyer.

Note one implication of this is that he has a lifelong duty of confidentiality with respect to matters he represented Trump on. That attorney-client privilege thing. That the various relevant bar associations and the legal profession in general are not screaming bloody murder about this tells you how useless the legal profession has become with respect to the law, justice, and its own claimed standards.

>Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Blanche, 51, represented the President in three of the four criminal cases he has faced. In the hush-money trial in which Trump was ultimately convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal a 2016 payment to an adult film star, Blanche served as his lead defense attorney. He also defended Trump—to more favorable results—in the federal cases brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith over his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and mishandling of classified documents. Both cases were dismissed after Trump won reelection in 2024.

He’s the guy who rewards child sex traffickers with minimum-security prison digs, customized meals and playtime with puppies, all of which make him a repulsive sack of shit.

To some things up... If you're a Democrat and a liberal, you're going to wish Pam Bondi was still the AG. If you're a Republican and a conservative, you're going to love the more aggressive nature of the new AG.
