Why is the new Balamory edited like cocomelon?

Posted by GroovingPenguin

Has anyone else tried to watch the new Balamory? (I Support SEN so I'm not just a weirdo) The pacing felt really intense to the point it actually gave me a headache and had to change it so I timed it to see what on earth was going on In 1 minute I counted 37 cuts that’s roughly 1 cut every 1.7 seconds. It ranges between 26-37,so 1.7 to 2.3 seconds per cut For context Cocomelon is usually around 1–2 seconds per cut, so this is basically the same speed. Across the episode it stays consistently that fast and gets even faster in music segments. Then I checked the original show for comparison. It Averaged about 9 to 14 cuts per minute (6.7 seconds to 4.3) So it’s not just “a bit faster” it’s over 2x the pacing AT LEAST. Every time I blinked the scene had changed. It didn’t feel like something anyone could follow, more like constant visual overwhelm. I know fast-paced, highly stimulating content is often discussed as being harder for younger kids to process, so it got me wondering If this kind of pacing is starting to show up on cbeebies for a "calmer" show what is that implying? We know how detrimental these kinds of things can be to young brains unfortunately

But for cbeebies to be leaning into that which traditionally was the only saving grace is concerning to me That's a public funded network not exactly something private

Are you implying with merch or? It's a publicly funded network so of course profit is important but that's also not it's biggest thing?
