Why isn't Netflixs or Disney doing a musical TV series and promoting a band like 90s/00s?

Because Radio Disney isn’t a marketing arm with power anymore.

radio disney was basically the pipeline back then, they could make any band huge just by putting them in rotation. now kids get their music from tiktok and spotify playlists so there's no single channel that can guarantee success like that anymore

Netflix is doing it with K-Pop and J-Pop.

I feel like Disney does a fair amount of musical shows and movies. High School Musical ended recently and Electric Bloom exists (haven't watched).

They don't want to create a band and have to manage a band. If you already are a band, back in the 90s Disney would be a great opportunity. Today you have so many more better ones.

Disney stars aren't as popular anymore. Although they do have the Zombies movies right now. Those do very well.

Sabrina carpenter and zendaya are two of the most famous people in the world.

They got really big after they left Disney Channel. They left Disney Channel about 15 years ago. I know this as someone who never stopped watching Disney Channel. Shake it Up is from 2010 and Girl Meets world is from 2014-17. Disney Channel doesn't really make pop stars anymore. They mostly focus on animation. You are seeing more stuff like Big City Greens and Bluey than Hannah Montana.

How about with the music of Primus?

I think some of this is just how things evolved. Now only are we seeing less kids programs in general, with a lot of these are pushing more towards serialized narratives, or certain concepts. Like The Ghost and Molly McGee, Kiff, and Haley's On It both have a fair amount of musical sections even if they're not promoting a band/a musical tv series specifically.

Netflix had Julie and The Phantoms but cancelled it after one season Same thing happened with The Runarounds (Prime Video) recently.

You mean like Huntrix?

Well yeah but in general when I grew up there was like a club 7 TV show, Hannah Montana (probably spelt wrong), high school musical, camp rock. K pop demon hunters has clearly shown a good songs and a story is a money maker but Disney are pumping out re boots. Frozen and Encanto had great music. It's like they aren't investing in the music side as much.

Because a long time ago people at ABC and MTV hired predatory losers like Lou Pearlman and Diddy to do that and we got shows like Making the Band

Is that a TV series? Or a real band? (I love the music btw, just doesn't really have anything to do with the post)

It's a fictional band in the Netflix movie "K-Pop Demon Hunters" but also on album/radio the songs are attributed to the band "Huntrix" (or "Huntr/x"), which makes them also an actual band. (And at least where I live, a couple of the songs do get radio play.)

It's a film with good singers. Think one was nearly a k pop artist which is why her voice is so good.
