Well I mean…I read the first one and saw the first one…claiming that movie was based on that book is a stretch.

It either is or isn’t. If the producers bought the film rights from the author to adapt of for the screen, it’s an adaptation. Some adaptations deviate from the book more than others, but that’s different.

I read the second book, and he wasn't in it. It explained the origin stories of the Aunts.
