Defense contractor lobby. They are literally incentivized for making weapons for war. That's why there's thousands of tanks the military explicitly asked not to be made just sitting in a desert in Nevada never to be used.

Usually it’s about power, security, or economic interests. Governments fund wars to protect territory, influence global politics, secure resources, or support allies. It’s rarely about “wanting war” itself more about what leaders believe they gain or protect by fighting.

Afaik, some people just love and want chaos or war for whatever selfish, sadistic reasoning. I've reason to believe that they just enjoy being in power or it's because of some kink they have in general lol.

Some wars are fought and funded for egos, others have economic benefits, such as control of Kuwaiti oil. Israel fights and funds wars for the purpose of survival.

Because they sell the guns XD Its called the Military Industrial Complex. Contractors get money for guns, they pay politicians to make more wars, which requires more guns, making more money. Same thing with the Prison Industrial Complex working with Politicians and Police unions to keep more people imprisoned to drive up profits.

In WW2, it made sense. Since then, some countries have real reasons to fund the war effort. Ukraine for example.

Depends on the situation. For Ukraine, it means losing less territory, resources and human lives to Russians. For the US, it's about keeping everyone else in line and paying for oil in $, and influence for protection. At least until Trump, now I've lost the plot

The benefit? Politicians get power, corporations get money, and citizens get anxiety.
