Dose anyone know if the backrooms movie airs in Australia?
j would hope i can the ability to see it in cinema i know iron lung in Australia
I wanted to ask because I do believe we dont get a lot of say anime movie releases, or indie films yes?
I assume someone here might know anything?
im assuming itll be air here but not sure where to look for actually details on cinema locations
dont think theres been any official word on australian distribution yet but given how much buzz the kane pixels stuff has gotten id be surprised if it doesnt make it there eventually
indie horror flicks like this usually take a while to sort out international releases though so might not be day one with the US. your best bet is probably keeping an eye on the official social media accounts or maybe reaching out to some of the bigger cinema chains directly to see if theyve heard anything
worst case scenario theres always digital release down the line but yeah cinema experience would be way better for something like this

I know iron lung managed an aus release but that was due to fan popularity etc
I do not have the knowledge base to do anything like that or connections so I may have to unfortunately wait for streaming release or something if thats the potential case

relatable, I always struggle to find screenings for niche movies in Australia. Maybe we should start a petition to bring it to our theaters.

Yes, it definitely will. It’s a horror by A24 starring two Oscar nominated actors.
EDIT: just checked and Village Cinemas have confirmed the release as Thursday May 28th

I also considered unlike iron lung Kane pixels has an actual distribution which should make it more possible to be in Australia

Dont worry, Backrooms isn't an indie movie, It's an A24 film.
They do very big pushes with their films and have a good track record theatrically, especially with horror. This is the studio that did The Witch, Midsomer, Talk to Me, Hereditary, Maxxxine etc. If any of those played in your local theatre, this definitely will. It has a much higher budget than many of their films do, and a May release date too. All that suggests you'll be able to see it no problem.
