The wheels of Justice turn slowly. BC will probably be dead before anything comes of it.

He's dead to us

shockingly, he still has a cadre of diehard fans who think he was innocent and it's just "the machine" trying to take down another strong black man.

loyalone Mar 23, 2026 +3
I temper thoughts of his letdown with those that counter, like how people see Keanu Reeves, for instance. I grew up with this guy's comedy almost everywhere; TV, stand up, even Saturday morning cartoons. What a disappointment. But at least he's in prison over it.
3
Nichoros_Strategy Mar 23, 2026 +16
Nope, he’s free as can be
16
nasnedigonyat Mar 23, 2026 +9
He isn't in prison.
9
loyalone Mar 24, 2026 +5
Well shit. thx
5
nasnedigonyat Mar 24, 2026 +2
Yeah it effing sucks. It's a crime against humanity and decent society that Bill Cosby isn't behind bars.

Sad_Locksmith_2904 Mar 24, 2026 +5
Tbf, the technicality that he got out on was legally correct, it just never should have happened. He was let out because the prosecutors had offered him immunity and went back on it after he provided the requested testimony. 1) Offers of immunity *should* be held up by courts, because it would really damage trust in the system and would likely result in greater difficulty getting testimony if people thought their immunity deals were lies, but 2) he absolutely should not have been offered immunity. He was obviously guilty of horrible crimes.

secretsusi Mar 24, 2026 +1
He was in prison for a few years regarding previous charges. Free now and hopefully not for long.
1
Lurchie_ Mar 24, 2026 +1
Except part of the reason he's free is because of the no-prosecute deal the idiot litigator made with Cosby. He can't be (criminally) retried.
1
Sad_Locksmith_2904 Mar 24, 2026 +1
On those charges. I’d be surprised if they couldn’t convict him on r*** charges against someone else.
1
Lurchie_ Mar 24, 2026 +1
It's highly unlikely due to the statute of limitations.

How is he still alive? He's old as hell. He was ancient when I was a child.

When someone is a narc psychopath and don’t feel emotions like the rest of us, it takes less time off their years cause they don’t have a care in the world. Look at Trump
38
GenDislike Mar 23, 2026 +13
I don’t want to look at Trump. I had hoped the McDonald’s would have done to him, what everyone else had warned it’d do to me.
13
Sufficient-Bid1279 Mar 23, 2026 +2
Seems like it’s like kryptonite fuel for him
2
GenDislike Mar 23, 2026 +1
I always felt he was like the advertisements come alive in the “attack of the 50-foot eyesores” Halloween Simpsons special. The more you pay attention, the more power he can pull from. He thrives on attention and confrontation. “Just don’t look,” may have worked in 2015. But here we are, attempting to bundle up the tattered rags of democracy, hoping to reassemble when sanity reappears.

How ? Stress and emotions lead to caring and takes a burden on us. Not having those, doesn’t have the same affect on people. If I didn’t have a care in the world, I would be a much happier person
5
ExternalScholar3472 Mar 23, 2026 +7
Strange but very true. The most evil people literally don't have a care in the world.
7
Sufficient-Bid1279 Mar 23, 2026 +4
Right?!?!? My ex boss was a narc. He got a promotion, I landed in the psych ward for 3 months. The level of trauma they inflict on people but literally have no care in the world is astounding.
4
ExternalScholar3472 Mar 23, 2026 +3
I'm so sorry for that. Real people don't deserve to suffer at their hands.
3
Sufficient-Bid1279 Mar 23, 2026 +2
Thanks kind stranger :)

Oh sorry, I#ve translated your post; in English the your intended meaning comes across quite differently, and then I understand it

No problem 😌 Sorry my phrasing could have been more clear !

Cholinergia Mar 23, 2026 +10
He’s “only” 88, so not super shocking for a guy who’s lived in wealth and comfort most of his life.
10
ai_art_is_art Mar 23, 2026 +3
Roughly 30-40% of men in the US live to 88 years old. I suppose those odds are pretty large.

> A woman who claims Bill Cosby drugged and raped her in 1972 won a $19.25 million jury award on Monday, decades after first stepping forward as Jane Doe Number 8 in the 2005 lawsuit filed by former Temple University athletics director Andrea Constand against the disgraced comedian. > Jurors found Cosby liable for the sexual assault of an intoxicated woman as well as sexual battery. They awarded plaintiff Donna Motsinger $17.5 million for past mental suffering and $1.75 million for future suffering. In another major finding, they determined Cosby acted with “malice, oppression, or fraud,” opening the door to punitive damages to be decided in a second phase of the trial.

21 f****** years to render a verdict and judgement.
72
angryaxolotls Mar 23, 2026 +41
And it's 53 years after the assault 🥺. That's so fucked up. I'm glad this judge didn't side with Bill.
41
cheesepuzzle Mar 24, 2026 +12
Not judge. Jury. It was a jury verdict.
12
Wonderful-Pause1048 Mar 23, 2026 +6
Extremely long; but also the amount of the jury's compensation. That doesn't happen in Germany, and it never will. But in the U.S., there are many things different.
6
DoraForscher Mar 24, 2026 +1
That is a fantastic outcome. Wayyyy too late but I need all the details of her lawyers cos that is a tough case.
1
AtBat3 Mar 23, 2026 +70
Still wild how all of this came to light because of another comedians joke
70
hamilton_morris Mar 23, 2026 +33
It is absolutely fascinating how that all went down.  I think one of the reasons people in powerful positions always take a ruthlessly paranoid King Herod approach to dissent is because they understand that they truly don’t know when or where the one thing that can take them down will suddenly spring up.  Corruption and abuse are almost always an open secret, but nothing can happen while victims and bystanders just don’t have power on their side. But then one little thing appears and suddenly the tide wholly shifts and, to everybody’s shock, the unjust status quo is capsized. Like there is a dimension to power that is completely uncontrollable and just moves of itself.

mymemesnow Mar 23, 2026 +7
That’s what I hope will happen to the island people. One person tries to cut a deal and start pointing fingers and very soon everyone will try to sell each other out, and they all go to jail. I know that’s unlikely as well as any real consequences for anyone, but I’ll allow myself to dream.

Think the difference there is social power vs real power.

Very insightful, and I agree.

He was first sued in 2006, the signs were there.
12
four_ethers2024 Mar 24, 2026 +4
Same with Epst*in. People forget he had already been very publicly accused and taken to court before 2018/19.

I didn’t know about this. How did this all come out?

Derpykins666 Mar 23, 2026 +5
Only took more than half a lifetime to see justice. That's wild. 54 Years is a long time, but at least there is restitution for the crimes now, even so late.
5
BrisbaneLions2024 Mar 25, 2026 +1
Justice would be he's still in prison.
1
fitzpheind Mar 24, 2026 +5
Love how she’s just “woman who says” instead of a victim
5
PsychologicalHost371 Mar 23, 2026 +5
For a civil lawsuit involving a crime that should be punished by prison time how do they decide the monetary amount? How do they come up with 19 million as an appropriate amount?

Headline revision: Woman who Bill Cosby Drugged and Raped in 1972…
12
Elastician-magician Mar 24, 2026 +3
TIL I went to high school with a lawyer for Bill Cosby, R. Kelly, and Harvey Weinstein. She was gross then and still is, apparently.
3
CompetitionOther7695 Mar 23, 2026 +9
And even now the headline “she says”…like no, he did it, a jury decided it is more than an accusation ffs

What’s the deal with Camille, his wife?
