Woodworking with hand tools only — a beginner's honest take

Posted by Jake Morrison

Quieter than power tools. Cheaper to start. Forces you to understand the material. The learning curve is steeper because you can't force cuts. After a year I can cut decent dovetails, flatten a board with a hand plane, and build simple furniture. The sawdust smells better somehow.
